Totallybooked Meets Author Raine Miller
Ethan Blackstone and Brynne Bennett
The Blackstone Affair
Teaser from Eyes Wide Open (The Blackstone Affair Book #3)
“Aww, baby, that’s so sweet,” she told me, shaking her head at me like I was crazy but she loved me anyway.
“I love it when you call me baby.”
“I know you do and that’s why I say it,” she said softly in that gentle way she had. The one that made me insane to possess her and have her splayed out naked underneath me where I could take my time crawling my way up inside her, making her come and come some more, calling out my name—
“What are you thinking about, baby?” she asked, interrupting my inner erotic ravings as she should have done.
I told her the honest truth, in a whisper of course so nobody else could hear me. “I’m thinking about how many times I can make you come when I get home from work tonight and have you naked, and I’m all over you.”
Brynne didn’t respond to my little speech with words. Instead, her breath hitched as she swallowed hard, making the hollow of her neck and throat move slowly in tandem with the blush that started chasing up to her face. Mouthwatering…..

Totallybooked chats to the gorgeous Raine Miller,
Ethan Blackstone and Brynne Bennet.
TB: We can’t begin to tell you how excited we are that you could join us today, and hope we don’t embarrass ourselves…this really is something special! Firstly, Raine a huge congrats from on getting signed author, we were so excited for you. How does it feel?
Raine: Thank you, my dears. I am grateful for all the readers like you that helped me get there. As to getting signed, it feels completely surreal, like it must be happening to someone else or that I’ve slipped into an alternate universe.
Raine: I try to be very realistic when describing traumatic events for my characters. In Brynne’s case, the idea came from real events in the news about seven years ago. It was something that haunted me when imagined from the victim’s mind, and I knew it would touch people into thinking about how we never know where a person has been, what they have lived through, suffered or conquered.
TB: Well, it certainly affected us reading Brynne’s story. It was heartbreaking. What is the best thing about being an author?
Raine: I’d have to say I feel pretty good when someone writes to me and tells me that reading one of my stories has helped them in some way—maybe to escape from the harsh realities of life, or to inspire them creatively, or make them feel connected.
TB: Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Raine: Yes and no. My writing is pretty organic and stuff comes as I go along with a manuscript but I always begin with an outline of events, character bios, and know the ending of my story before I begin. The new ideas that arrive into my head get jotted down for possible future books, or get woven into the current book.
TB: What’s the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
Raine: Hmmmm…well this was very embarrassing at the time, but now it cracks me up. On my wedding day, my husband and I were sitting in our getaway car (a 1941 convertible Packard) in the street in front of the church having our picture taken by our wedding photographer with two hundred guests watching from the sidewalk. It was early, about 12:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday and this scraggly guy comes driving up (100% sure he was returning from the liquor store) in an old beat up station wagon with the wood-look paint and he wants to pass us, but the photographer is standing in the street trying to get our picture. He gets impatient and starts grumbling and blasts the horn on his POS vehicle. The photographer sort of glared at him and shook her head, like “I’m trying to get a picture here, buddy, do you mind?” and he just exploded and screamed “Fuck you—you bunch of…sissies!” Out of all the words he could have used, he came up with “sissies.” LOL It was one of those moments when you think it cannot be happening. People still remind us about it. We laugh about it now though.
TB: Hehehe, love it! If you had a day to do anything you wanted, what would it be?
Raine: My best days are the ones when I have no commitments and can just spend it on the things I love to do. Stuff like walk, read a good book, make something pretty like a craft or book swag, go to the movies (I prefer to go alone), get a massage or a pedicure, and occasionally shop but not at a mall. I like antiques and special shops that sell handmade things.
TB: Sounds absolutely perfect!!! Ethan and Brynne, do you remember your very first kiss and can you tell us in your words how you felt?
Ethan: I remember a hallway and an elevator and being desperate… *grins* …just before I tasted perfection.
Brynne: Well, I felt like I’d been hit by a bus *blushes* a really devastatingly smooth one. I never saw it coming.
TB: Swoon! Ethan, do you consider yourself to be kinky? (J&G…hmmm how did THAT question get in there?)
Ethan: *tilts head* Let’s be honest, every bloke has some kink in him, true?
TB: Ummmmm yeah, we guess so, mmmm we sort of wandered off there for a minute…just something about the way you said the word “kink”…..
TB: Ethan and Brynne we’d love you to describe each other to us?
Brynne: *looks at Ethan and smiles softly* Ethan is incredibly strong and confident. He knows what he wants and he knows how to express his feelings. He’s demonstrative and considerate…and romantic with me. He is the most beautiful man I’ve ever known and even though he can be a little *pauses* demanding sometimes, he knows the limits. Ethan is best at knowing me. I cannot say that about any other man before him. *gets shy*
Ethan: *picks up Brynne’s hand and kisses it* This girl here is like nobody I’ve ever known. She’s a beauty inside and out, brilliant in the head and very thoughtful in the heart. She’s the most generous partner, her giving knows no bounds. She surprises me all the time—always in a good way. Oh and she’s a competitor. Don’t let the elegant beauty fool you into thinking she’s not tough as nails. She’d give some blokes I’ve known a run for their money. In a word, she is…perfect.
TB: Geez, we’re melting here! These two are just too adorbs! Ethan, Raine has said you look like our favourite crush Mr David James Gandy. Would you say that’s a fair representation
Ethan: I’ve been told that many times. I suppose there is a resemblance, yeah, and we are the same age. *shrugs*
TB: Brynne, would you agree?
Brynne: Hmmm, yes, I do see the similarities now that you mention it. David Gandy is very nice to look at too. *Brynne smirks at Ethan and he rolls his eyes*
TB: Oh he sure is! No arguments here! What do you both think of Raine?
Brynne: She’s lovely of course. I need to read her books though. I’ve just been so busy lately *looks at Ethan* I don’t get as much time to read as I’d like.
TB: She sure is. She’s one of our favorites Brynne, you really should check out her books *wink, wink*
Ethan: Raine is an author of romance books right? She seems to be very popular I’ve heard but I doubt I’ll ever read her books. I read non-fiction if I pick up a book at all.
TB: You’re really missing out by not reading them Ethan
TB: Ethan,Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at.
Ethan: Fat chance of me spilling that information
TB: Oh don’t be shy…..you can spill, we’ll keep it a secret (*giggles*)
Ethan: Oh, I couldn’t say most of them aloud. *snickers*
TB: We did try ladies
TB: Brynne, If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Brynne: *looks down at her hands and then back up* If I could, I’d like to change just one hour of my life. (J&G: She is so gorgeous and we’re nearly in tears here )
TB: Ethan and Brynne, did you have a hard time convincing your Raine to write any particular scenes for you?
Raine: *blushes and shakes her head, making a cutting gesture with her hands*
TB: Ooopsie, did we say something wrong Raine?
Ethan: *Ethan looks over at Raine and arches a brow at her*
TB: Ahhhh we’re guessing we did
Brynne: *Brynne snaps her head in Raine’s direction*
TB: Okay, let’s take another tack. Did you ever think that your life would end up being in a book?
Ethan: What bloody book is this? We’re not in a book, whatever gave you that idea?
TB: Okay, we’re not sure if you’re joking here, so what about…….If you could rewrite anything in your book, what would it be?
Ethan: *Ethan looks exasperated with the question* There is no book, Brynne is correct. *mutters under his breath* I don’t have time to be in a bloody book.
TB: Okay, we’re guessing Raine’s got some explaining to do. Raine, do you agree?
Raine: *smiles awkwardly and checks her watch*
TB: Last question, Raine, what can we expect from Book #3, Eyes Wide Open. The book that’s NOT about Ethan and Brynne (*giggles*)
Raine: Well you can expect some incredibly romantics things to happen, and some very tragic things to happen, and some very sexy things to happen. There is also some funny stuff as well.
TB: Sounds fantastic. We can’t wait! Ethan and Brynne, do have any secret aspirations that your author doesn’t know about?
Ethan: *Ethan picks up Brynne’s hand and rubs his thumb over the top* Since she’s not writing a book about us and I’ve not told her anything about myself, then no.
TB: We tried to slip you up there Ethan….we know, we’re naughty. but you can’t blame us girls for trying hehehe
Brynne: *Brynne looks like she’s pondering the possibility and putting two and two together. She looks over at Raine with wonderment*
TB: Thank you all so much for being here today……ummmm Ethan, we just have to say….you really do look like our crush David Gandy and we’re swooning here
Ethan: Thank you, ladies. *checks mobile* I’ve got to head off to a meeting. *offers his hand for a shake* (J&G: Darn it, we were hoping for a hug…you can’t win ’em all)
Brynne: Thank you, Totallybooked. Was very nice chatting with you. *offers a hug and whispers in TB’s ear* “Is Raine really writing a book about Ethan and me?”
TB: (*whispers back*) Hmmmmm , you better ask Raine (J&G: Brynne really is such a sweetheart, we adore her!)
Raine: My pleasure, my dear Jenny and Gitte. I love talking with you any time. Just remember to tell them…alone…next time. **looks nervously over at Ethan and Brynne**
TB: Okay, it’s a deal…….though, can you bring pics of Ethan with you….he is mighty fine to look at (*winks*)
Totallybooked wishes to thank Raine Miller for generously giving up her time for this interview and teaser.
About the Author
Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it’s a safe bet she’ll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine’s stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A part-time teacher and writer of sexy romance stories every other chance she gets pretty much fills her days. She has a handsome prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books.
