‘A Taste of You’ is the perfect dish for ‘hot cocky and broody billionaire loving readers’ who enjoys sensual passionate scenes with seductive food tasting and 9 ½ weeks kind of feeding…we promise, you will never look at a fig or a ‘pain au chocolat’ the same ever again…!!

“That’s the last time you’ll open your mouth to another man, he said, his voice husky and seductive. I couldn’t stop the tremor of pleasure that raced through me at his sexy tone. From now on, I’m the only man that feeds you.” ~ WML

taste of you

 Preparation of dish:

None to speak of…it went straight to the list of ingredients with this little quote:

“I want to fuck you. Hard. Long,” he whispered. “Until you come and come and think you can’t come anymore.”William

Main necessary and delicious Ingredients:

~ One well written storyline that has emotion, passion, mystery and intrigue.

~ One gorgeous, controlling, possessive and arrogant billionaire with a tragic past and secrets.

William Maddox Lambourne is a gastronome who loves his food and women….preferably together….on the kitchen floor…..(sorry you lost us to a pain au chocolate scene there)….This man has talent!

“We are going to fuck in more ways than you can imagine. And I’m going to show you pleasure you didn’t know existed.”

~ One sweet, guilt-ridden and beautiful photographer who has suffered the ultimate heartbreak when she became a widow at such a young age.

Catherine Kelly moves to Chicago working as a food photographer to escape her past. As she tries to heal and overcome her pain, she meets a mysterious man with stormy eyes. The connection and attraction is immediately there when tragedy meets tragedy.

~ One healthy dose of chemistry between well-developed characters who work through their issues and open themselves up to each other through trial and error throughout the story.

~ One best friend with the name of Beckett who should be an essential ingredient in any recipe. He is funny, sweet & protective….he rocks!

~ One not so bad cliff-hanger that makes you excited for book #2

Stir and mix all of the above ingredients together and combine it with some pretty sexy and evocative language and you have a dish that is pretty steamy, suspenseful, funny and sexy. You’ll want to taste this one if you are a fan of erotic romance like FSOG, Crossfire & The Blackstone Affair.

“It’s different with you.” He caressed my cheek, calming me. “You’re different. I want to keep feeling the way I feel when we’re together. It’s addictive. I don’t want it to stop.”

Bon Appetit!!!!

Review by Jenny & Gitte

Gitte: So this was my first Georgia Cates and wow…how did I not know? Yes, I hang my head in shame?! I loved this story, it was fabulously written and the characters and premise of the story was fab.  But urgh…cliff-hanger!

“There is evil fuckery afoot here.”Jack

Yeah there really was and I bloody enjoyed it!

Anyway, I loved the changing pov’s, we get to connect with both our male and female character as we hear and understand their inner thoughts, which ultimately lead to their respective actions. I have to say I was so hooked I read this in one sitting. I just couldn’t put down Jack and Laurelyn’s story and just as the characters became more and more involved so did I.

“He holds me and his embrace speaks without saying a word.”

What did you think Jenny?

Jenny: Agreed Gitte! How have we had this on our Kindles since Feb and yet not ventured into Georgia Cates territory until now! We headed straight into this Monday after being swamped with recommendations on our Blog and we weren’t disappointed!

First thought….Oh dear …..another cliffy! But I’m okay and will eagerly look forward to finding out what’s afoot in Jack land and just what is going on in that man’s mind!  There’s still so much I need answered that’s for sure.

The alternative POV’s in Beauty from Pain really did allow you to become invested in the story….to get inside both heads and feel what each was going through.  I have to say, George Cates really can tell a story.  I completely connected with the characters, I felt their confliction, I felt their pain and I laughed at their wit.

“Oh, double swoon. His lips are when mine were. Lucky glass” –  Laurelyn

And don’t get me started on the heat and chemistry between Jack “ thud, there goes my heart” Henry  and Laurelyn. Yep! They burned up the pages of this book and I loved it too!

Gitte: So we meet our heroine Laurelyn as she arrives in the Land Down Under, Wagga Wagga to be specific, with her best mate Addison. They are visiting Addison’s brother Ben (yuk, I didn’t like him at all) for three months as he is living there studying Wine and everything that comes with it at Uni.

Laurelyn has a lot of emotional baggage from her past and she’s an aspiring singer/songwriter which plays out through this story. She came across a tad cynical and “tired” of life but who can blame her really. That is until she gets a proposal thrown at her by a hot enigmatic millionaire who clocked her in the pub on her first night out. I have to say he freaked me out in the beginning. I thought he was going to be an evil stalker. Our Laurelyn isn’t convinced at first either as the offer consists of three months of nookie and apparently being wined and dined in between; with no strings attached. No identity reveal is allowed or demands made. Except for one.  Laurelyn, who is number thirteen to sign up for this, must never contact him again after her three months are up. Yeah I’d be a bit freaked out and sceptical too.  However, then her friend Addison comes out with this classic line and it’s all systems go:

“The best way to get over somebody is to get under someone else.”

Well, that’s true, and why not a gorgeous Aussie rich guy who makes you melt into a puddle on the floor? Their chemistry was hot….it was sensual and passionate and they can’t keep their hands off each other.

“This relationship isn’t romantic and won’t ever be. It is arranged and temporary. I’d do well to not forget that any time soon.” Laurelyn

They fall into an almost instantaneous “relationship” because there is no pressure and they aren’t really trying to impress each other.

“This relationship…I get it now. I get why it works…..Because we have no pretences and clear expectations, I don’t feel pressured to be anything but me.”Laurelyn

There is funny banter as well as passion which really broke up this story and made me connect more because it was not all about the nookie. There’s an age gap, daddy issues, music, secrets, mystery and suspense.

“I like being with you even when there’s no sex involved. That means you’re not a booty call.” – Jack

Oh and you know you are in the company of a hot alpha male when you hear:

“No one else touches you. Only me. Do you understand?…I won’t share you with anyone.” – Jack

Jack….not a creepy stalker that’s for sure. He was pretty bloody lush. He’s a man with a plan that’s bullet proof right? Ummm wrong.

“Say my real name…”

Both players knew the game but both players broke the rules and it made for one hell of a sexy, passionate and emotional ride…that ended….in a cliff-hanger!

“She makes me want to break down and tell her everything. It’s strange – I’ve never wanted to do that before. She makes me want to do lots of new things.”Jack

“I don’t say it, but I definitely think it-we’ve both just experienced something that can never be topped.” – Laurelyn

So yes I really enjoyed it, my main issue resulting in why this isn’t a higher rating is that I had a problem with how long Jack’s identity was kept an enigma. This, in my opinion, was a bit unbelievable as Ben should have known who he was, after all…he is in the industry and as he has an axe to grind you’d think he would be right onto that one. Spoiling what Jack and Laurelyn has, taking what he wants. But….bring on Beauty from Surrender (Beauty #2), I can’t wait. At least we haven’t got long to go right Jenny?

Jenny:  Yay for not having to wait too long Gitte!  We follow Laurelyn as she arrives in Australia with her friend after taking some time out to get her head sorted after leaving baggage in the States and trying to figure out where her life is going.  Despite being confident, beautiful, sexy and funny, Laurelyn’s self-esteem has taken a bit of a battering over the years and she has issues to work through.

“Music is what feelings sound like out loud. I sing songs that speak from my heart. They tell my story, how I feel.” – Laurelyn

Gorgeous, sexy, alpha, independent Wine Magnet and multi-millionaire Jack doesn’t do relationships. Jack prefers his no strings attached “arrangements” – it’s better that way as he fiercely guards his privacy.  He maintains women for companionship and sex for a specific time then moves on to the next one.  His life doesn’t lend to relationships and he has no intention of starting one.

“Looks like we both have secrets.”

Jack meets Laurelyn at an open mic night and this American beauty immediately beguiles him.  And boy do these two have chemistry! They definitely have “it” between them…that something that sizzles and demands to be explored…and explore they do! The sex scenes were off the charts but never did  they overtake the guts of the story, just the opposite. It complimented it and took it up a notch.

She has bewitched me. And I want her. She’s the one.” – Jack

Jack intends for Laurelyn to be his “number 13 arrangement” and promises her pleasure like she has never experienced and the best three months of her life if she agrees to it.

“If you say yes, I will pamper you every day like a princess.” – Jack

Seeing as  Laurelyn is only in Australia temporarily the arrangement seems perfect for both of them?  While spending time together, learning about one another and growing with each other, on thing they didn’t count on was their hearts entering into the equation. They both bring about a change in each other they didn’t expect and as a reader your heart is in your mouth as you face the inevitable with them.  The time when Laurelyn must leave and the arrangement has run its course.

“She’s showing me a new side of herself. It’s childlike and damaged.” Jack

When I was caught up in this book and being swept along with the story, the characters and emotion, I really did enjoy Beauty From Pain. In fact I loved it. So why am I only giving it 4 stars?

I had one negative with Beauty From Pain.  It is purely a personal one and I understand the majority of readers would not even find this an issue or pick up on it but I’m afraid I did.

Being Australian myself I have to say the use of the Australian vernacular was misrepresented in this book.  The use of  ‘Strine which is a  type of Australian slang  language wasn’t a correct representation of how Jack would converse and after a while I found it grated on me and at times this took me out of the story .  You see  ‘Strine is kind of ockerism as such and simply not the way Jack would converse. Not to mention there were words used that I have never heard fellow Aussies utter. The voice in my head, based on the vernacular used in Beauty From Pain did not match up with the Jack I pictured from the book and to me it was distracting.

Overall though I found  Beauty From Pain to be a well written, well paced, sexy, witty and enjoyable read. It was more than a millionaire meets beauty book. It had heart, heat and emotion and because of that I would absolutely recommend picking it up.

“She’s a magnet and I’m metal.”

Jack……And the cliffhanger….wow! Bring on Beauty From Surrender is all I can say! I need me some more Jack Henry!

Kiss collage

Review by Jenny & Gitte

Jenny:  Well, I have to say Gitte, I really did enjoy Kiss This. We wanted something with romance, emotion, sizzling chemistry, a bit of mystery, a good storyline and characters that we could relate to, connect with and love…something to  escape into for a while and didn’t this one just fit the bill!

Your eyes,” he answered
He pressed his cheek to hers and whispered. “Because I can see your beautiful soul every time I look into them. I can’t even fucking comprehend how much they pull me in.”

Told in differing viewpoints I found this book touching, witty, sexy and an all-round enjoyable read. There were secrets aplenty which were revealed intermittently throughout the book, making me anticipate each one as it came to light.

I revelled in the banter, little quips and one liner’s and sarcastic wit between Camryn and Teague, and the secondary characters charmed me and leant so much to the story as well.

“Hmmm, well, I’m probably your typical guy. I like sports, cars and motorcycles, food, music and I especially like being a conceited asshole.” – Teague

Camryn and Teague really did make me smile one minute and have me reaching for the fan the next! Yup, these two completely sizzled and the sex scenes, yes they were hot, but they were interspersed with a humour, emotion and romance that completely melted me.

Teague was the comfortable gentility that she needed; he had the patience and the tenderness that fit her perfectly.”

Yeah so Gitte, that scene in the rain….whoa!!! Hot!!!  How did you feel about Kiss This?

Gitte: I LOVED this book.’ Kiss This’ has pretty much everything that keeps you reading not wanting to put it down. I was addicted from the start and fell in LOVE! It had fab characters; it was funny, sexy and emotional. An almost pretty perfect package…which leads me nicely onto Teague. I’m in love….again. Teague has now been added to the never-ending list of book boyfriends.

Anyway, back to the story.  I thought this Author wrote a blinder; she had me all teary one minute then feeling warm and fuzzy the next. All the characters played a part and there was not one of them that got on my nerves or felt superfluous to the story.

Our main characters Teague and Camryn were bloody brilliant. Sarcastic humour, sensual and hot chemistry, both had heartbreak and emotional baggage that made them wary of relationships and the intentions of the other.

The way they meet; the build-up well I was hooked.

“…you ran those hundred yards to catch up with me? – Camryn

“I sprinted them. Fiercely. With determination. And passion.” – Teague

So yes, an absolutely bloody brilliant read that should be inhaled word for word. It had so many secrets and drama; but the fun banter and passion more than made up the difference. Oh and YES….the scene in the rain….HOT!!!!

Jenny:  We meet Camryn our feisty, sexy, funny, heroine who really was so refreshing. Although still suffering over the loss of the love of her life, she is making an attempt to move on but has vowed to never kiss a man again unless she is in love with him.  Although dealing with past heartbreak and having family issues that weight her down, Camryn was far from a simpering heroine. This girl could give anyone a run for their money. I found her completely honest, sexy, she spoke her mind, said how she felt and was so fierce and loyal as well.

“You know nothing about my fears,” – Camryn

And then there’s Teague. What can I say about Teague? I absolutely loved this guy!   There was so much to this man.  He was witty, loyal to a fault, patient, kind, tender with a beautiful heart, who could also be so fiery, possessive, secretive and oh so very cocky! His cockiness was endearing though because he possessed the ability to laugh at himself.  Yup! I really LOVED him!

“Oh, and Camryn?” he said….”I don’t have a six-pack,” he smiled, shaking his head. “For you I have an eight-pack.”

I loved how he laid himself bare for Camryn. This woman really did bring him to his knees.

“This beautiful woman had become his entire world.”

Cam and Teague were drawn by some force. They both saw something in each other that could heal, they saw someone they could love and theirs was a connection you felt from the first moment they met. Theirs wasn’t an easy road and at there was a time there when facing their pasts had me in tears. These two were both somewhat damaged, had not been afforded the nurturing and family support and had suffered loss and heartache. Could they indeed give each other the love and happiness they both craved?

“It was a mutual surrendering of a little bit of body and a whole lot of soul…and it was only a first kiss.”

After going through so much in their pasts, trust was always going to be an issue for both but especially for Teague. He had deep rooted fears which caused him to mistrust many and trust very few. He had issues to deal with and secrets to carry, sharing them with Camryn was always going to be hard for Teague but little by little he learned to trust.

“Please can I just hold you for a minute?” he hardly whispered.

I loved this story. It had everything I could have wanted in a read and I was completely, drawn into and immersed in the story from the start.  So why not 5.0 star rating?  Well, there were a couple of instances I felt the story was a little drawn out and certain areas were somewhat repetitive, but as you can tell, this didn’t impact on my overall enjoyment of the story. I loved spending time with Camryn and Teague.

“You scare me, too,” he replied softly, taking her face in his hands. “But…I think if we face our fears together…it’ll be okay”

Watching their relationship grow and seeing them learn from each other, these two damaged people who found love when they least expected it completely captivated me.  I loved their humor, their sarcastic banter, I shared their heartbreak and I shared their joy.  I loved their journey and really, I just adored them!  Can’t wait for Jay’s book in 2014!!! I will definitely be picking that one up! Did you just adore Cam and Teague too Gitte?

Gitte: Yes I really did Jenny. I absolutely loved Camryn; she was such a strong heroine. She was indeed feisty and protective, honest to a fault with proper backbone, she had a fab sense of humour and she loved with passion and heart. I found her character so refreshing and my kind of girl!

She’s not had an easy life and has been through absolute heartbreak of the worst kind. She is understandably hesitant and scared to let go which results in her making the rule of no kiss until she finds love.

“Camryn promised herself she wouldn’t kiss another man unless she was in love with him. She’d held firm to that rule and never had cause to waver from it. The desire hadn’t even entered a single part of her. Until now.”

Camryn and Teague have that tangible chemistry that had me riveted from the start where it all begins with a bet.

“New Year’s it is. You’ll be kissing me at midnight and you’ll never want to stop.” – Teague

“I’m betting you won’t even last until then.” – Camryn

Yay, time for my thoughts on Teague. I loved this guy. He was charmingly cocky. He was lush; absolutely gorgeous and so very sexy. He was spot on funny and passionately protective with a heart of pure gold. He was not a bastard; if anything he was the opposite and he was written so well that his decency and kindness sold him…helped by all the other yummy attributes of course! Oh and Teague has the gift of the gab. The things this guy comes out with…so sexy, romantic and smooth.

“Well I’m not like most guys.” – Teague

“No you’re not.”Camryn

Yeah I agree with no hesitation Camryn!!!

No doubt; our Camryn and Teague carried so many open wounds from their past which still played out in the present making them feel as if they don’t really belong. Between them they carry the inability to fully trust another person, both carry heavy secrets and having always had to look after themselves they are fiercely independent.

“There’s not much of me to even have, Teague. You’ll learn that soon enough.” – Camryn

“Now that sounds like another challenge.” – Teague

“It’s not meant to be. It’s a disclaimer.” – Camryn

“Don’t we all come with one? I’ve got issues, too. I don’t let people get close to me, either. I’d rather keep my shit in the closet without feeling obligated to share just because I’ve been with a girl for more than a day.” – Teague

As I said earlier the connection between these two is intense; it’s as if they see beyond each other’s barriers and find a way to heal, pulling each other out of the past into the present ~ together. There’s no way they can voluntarily be kept apart.

“Did you get lost along the way?” – Camryn

“Nope. But if I ever do, I’ll always find my way back to you.”

Seriously loved this story and the journey Camryn and Teague took us on through the brilliant writing of this Author. This is without any doubt a must read for 2013!! Oh and YES Bring on Jay’s book I cannot wait!

Lock collage

Review by Gitte

This review will be kind of hard to write because I don’t want to give any spoilers for new readers of this series.  I was looking forward to this second installment of Sophia and Sebastian, mainly to learn more about him, as he intrigued me in Locked. What I will say, is that we follow their “relationship” as it moves into that dangerous territory of becoming something more….something that involves more than sexual attraction.

“There was no way I was misinterpreting that. Ending this frightened him as much as it did me.”

“It’s not just me is it?” – Sophia

“He gave a tiny shake of his head.”

“Of course it’s not just you.” – Sebastian

Okay, I’ll start with Sophia. I loved her in book #1; she was strong, sassy and didn’t take any nonsense. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. Did I love her in book #2?  Yes, however, I found that some of her spark got lost. She adopted a bit of a defeatist attitude all of a sudden.

Now, I can understand it to a certain extent, because of what she went up against in this one.  But….I can’t help think that her character would have benefitted from this being a two-book series rather than three. Right at the end she does get some of her spirit back and she begins to question and fight for what she wants. She needs answers and becomes confident enough again to confront Sebastian despite what it’ll ultimately cost her.

“Why are you so afraid, Sebastian?” – Sophia

Now, as for the man that is Sebastian, well he truly is alpha cockiness personified. What woman could possibly resist him? Not me, that’s for sure. We learn some of his background which explains his reluctance to get too involved with a woman; why he goes for the un-defined and why he never lets feelings be part of the equation. He’s still reluctant to share and give himself completely; yet he shows a bit of a vulnerable side and reveals more than he intends. There are a few scenes that melted me, where the underlying emotion was so strong that I would have forgiven him anything.

“Have you ever lost someone?….Someone important?” – Sebastian

However, when the pursued becomes the pursuer….surely he should not be surprised when answers to all the secrets are demanded? So yes, still so much mystery and suspense as well as steamy moments and passion.

Overall I enjoyed Lockout very much.  Yet again, the writing is great and this Author had me wanting more. I do think though that the length was my main issue again. In my opinion these books are too short; by the time I was completely caught up in the story again, it was just about done. Lockout is longer than Locked yet I just didn’t feel satisfied. I can only compare it to getting quick sneak peeks into someone’s life. If I could have done this journey over I think I would have preferred to wait and read all three in one go and treat it as one book.  Oh and there’s one hell of a cliff-hanger…yeah it’s made me real antsy for the final installment. I can’t wait to find out how it all ends! Bring on book #3!

THE END OF ME (The Single Lady Spy Series #1) by TARA BROWN

the end of me

His death was almost the end of me.

He was still everywhere, surrounding me.
In our children’s eyes, in the smell lingering in our bed, in candy bar wrappers stuffed down the side of the minivan driver door.
He was everywhere except where I needed him to be.
In my arms, kissing my lips, on the name of the deed to our house.
When his death didn’t end me, the proposal from the man who owned every moment of my life, did.
My husband carried on in the places he wanted to be but I was gone the moment I agreed.
The moment I let him have me, was the end of me.

The end of me collage

Review by Jenny & Gitte

Gitte: Okay, I officially love Tara Brown. I think she could write anything and I’d buy it, actually I know she could. Her style is so original; her storylines are crazy unpredictable and refreshing. She manages to inject just the perfect combination of humour, suspense and ‘unusual romance’ into one hell of an addictive read. The End of Me is book one and I know I’m hooked until this series ends.

“You make me want to be worthy of you. That’s a dangerous effect to have, on a man like me….I don’t want you to be anything but mine.”

This book is not only very sexy and hot. It’s also disturbingly dark and thrilling with more twists and turns than should be allowed in one book. I was inhaling every word and fell in love with all the characters. I definitely want to be the meat in a Cooper and Servario sandwich.

“Don’t make me love you…….Because it will end badly for us both.”

What did you think Jenny?

Jenny: What did I think?  I’m with you! I officially have, not only a readers crush, but a huge big girlie crush on this author because she wrote one very funny, strong, upfront and kick ass heroine and she also had me guessing at every turn just what the hell was going on, not to mention, all while making me laugh out loud at times.  Tara Brown certainly knows how to turn a story on its head and leave the reader hooked!  And yes! How refreshing it was to meet someone like Evie! It had it all…thrills, spills, hot sex and……Evie’s droll take on situations could certainly make you cringe uncomfortably while tittering at the same time. It was thrilling ride, laced with humor, heat and suspense. The the quips between her, Coops and Servario  definitely kept the giggles coming…not to mention having to fan yourself every now and then over the sexual tension and hot scenes.

“You’re not really my type. I get the whole cougar thing is huge, but I’m not into it. I like when I’m on top and all forty-types always want to steer.” – Coops

Don’t even get me started on that Cooper and Servario butty! I want in on that one! How the hell would you ever make a choice?  You’d have to have them on a time share schedule or something!

Gitte: So we meet our heroine Evie; a thirty-six year old widow with two young children, just as she is coming to terms with the fact that not only is her hubby dead but apparently her whole marriage was a sham.  Her husband was a cheating lying bastard who has now landed her in a heap of trouble which could cost the lives of Evie and her loved ones.

“You are in danger. Your husband is dead and his debt is now yours.”

Evie is proper kick-arse with a wicked past in the military but has settled into the Mummy and wife role….until now.  She suddenly has to revert back to her role in the military and fight, play dirty, kill and umm shag in order to save the day, unravelling one mystery, deception and ‘cover up’ after the other . The way she gets pulled back into ‘that’ life comes in the shape of the gorgeous, arrogant, funny and extremely shag’able Cooper….

“I tried not to notice the way his pulse beat rhythmically in his neck. It was like neck porn. I licked my wrist and sucked back the drink. I grabbed the lemon and sucked, all while watching the neck porn.”

I have to say I LOVED Evie; she’s my kind of heroine.  She has a fab sense of humour with sarcasm, she’s real and I completely connected with her.

“I readjusted my boobs cause they were not nineteen anymore either. At thirty-six, sometimes they got a little excited about what we were doing, and ended up out of my shirt. I was pretty sure they tried to jump in Coops face at one point.”

She rocked and I kind of wanted to be her…well minus all the violence and drama. Okay, if I could just be her…on a plane….sat in between Coop and Serv…hang on I’m just going to contemplate that…BRB!!

Oh and having found out her Husband cheated on her, well you can’t blame her for a lot of her sexual antics. This woman wakes up from the lull of being a housewife and settles right back into her previous role. She refuses to be a cougar; it makes her feel old…but a sex kitten, yeah she’ll take that but with who? They’ve all been watching her…they all want her!

“I’m here because my vagina wants to be…”

Jenny:  Eyes on me Gitte! Stop with the Coop and Serv fantasies…we’ve got a review to write here!  Coop & Serv…..sigh….hmmm where were we again! Sorry…you mentioned Coops, Serv and shagging in the one sentence and you lost me! Evie rocked alright!  When we first meet her she seems so down and so broken, so lost, but wow! What an absolute revelation she turned out to be! This “ordinary” Mum soon kicked it up a notch when her previous military training came into play. Although her world was turned on its head, Evie handled it with aplomb! She was sharp, beautiful and witty. Oh, and couldn’t this girl make you squirm (in a good way lol) with what came out of her mouth…..I will never…ever…read an anal sex scene without thinking of Evie again….and no folks, I don’t mean that in a weird sexual way, but in a funny way….well, read the scene and you’ll see what I mean.

He cocked an eyebrow, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know what a hoohoo is. Focus!”

The banter between her and the other characters was priceless and I particularly loved how she wasn’t afraid to take the mickey out of herself, all while deflecting derogatory comments from young hot Coops, dealing with an insatiable sexy alpha domineering baddie and kicking some major backsides along the way.

“I assumed it was a heat of the moment sort of thing. He would get over it when he saw me watch a chick flick with snot running down my face, and Ben and Jerry keeping me company.”

Even though Evie had it all going on, she didn’t take herself seriously and she was definitely someone you connect with immediately.  Yep, I loved Evie alright!

Gitte:  And then we have Cooper and Servario. Two alpha males who kick arse as well, literally. I loved them both for different reasons and wish Evie was into sarnies. Because this is one double decker I’d have! How do you choose? Do you have to? I was back and forth like a yo yo, if you’d asked me at blah % into the story I would say Coop….ask me five minutes later I’d say Serv.

“You deserve a love like no other person has ever had.”

One’s a goodie, the other’s a baddie…I think.

“He was a bad man. A bad man my vagina crazy loved.”

But then what does that mean anyway when you fall in love with a fictional character. They’re both HOT and bring something different to the table so I’m not going to choose.

“I don’t want to have to kill you to make this feeling go away, Evie.”

Most of the scenes with the bang on humour between Coop and Evie and also Serv and Evie had me in absolute stitches. The discussions they had were sarcastically funny and frankly so honest covering every aspect of normal daily life and routines. I think we covered most topics and what to share and not to share….from haemorrhoids to anal to bathroom routines to when it’s okay to have sex…or not. Bloody hilarious! They were nicely placed in amongst the suspenseful chase of the end game.

The storyline is truly a ‘game’ of power and cunning. Who’s going to come out on top? Who’s going to win the chase? The motto of ‘Trust No one’ could never be truer than in this story. Everyone has an agenda and Evie seems to be the pawn.

“I just got whored out by the fucking military to the arms dealer….”

It was like watching a game of players using seduction, intimidation and violence to reach The End Of….

”Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”

So yes…YES I loved it…Loved pretty much everything about it. Just one thing though, in my opinion, part of the ending confused me right good and proper and I felt a lot of ‘reveals’ were rushed out and not explained properly. A lot suddenly happened in the shortest space of time. This meant that I didn’t fully get the crux of the end game….something important didn’t make sense to me. I hope book #2 explains it and I can’t wait.

Jenny:  Yep I agree. I got whiplash from going between these two. I don’t think you can choose. Impossible.I absolutely loved this story.  I have to be honest and say when it started out I didn’t think it was going to hold my interest but at 15% I was hooked and dying to know just what the hell was going on and what that douchebag husband James, had got Evie into.  I will agree with the ending. The writing was fast at that point and it did seem to all wrap up so quickly in a small amount of time and I’m hoping book #2 End of Games will enlighten us about what is going down! This was certainly a great introduction to the series that’s for sure and there’s something for every reader in this book.

“Do you have any idea what you husband has been doing for the last ten years, while you were having kids and driving them to play dates.”

This was a fun, thrilling, intriguing, no holds barred, hot adventure that I’m glad I signed up for.  Oh the intrigue and mystery, and did I mention the heat…wow! What a good read this was.

“You okay?” I nodded, “Yup.” I would be, after years of intensive therapy and the possible misuse of red wine and vodka.

This was one sexy spy thriller. I was invested, loved it, giggled like an idiot and can’t wait for more! Just one thing. DO NOT ask me to choose between Coops and Serv…..unless that timeshare thing can be nutted out.  hmmmm……  Gitte get back here, I think I have a solution to our Coops and Serv dilemma *wink, wink*
