“Here is a feast for my senses as well as my heart.”

Well, what can I say that I haven’t said before? Honestly. Hands down my favourite book in this series which once more truly showcased the brilliance of Sylvain Reynard’s writing. This Author has always had a moving and striking way with words and once more I was amazed at the perfection and beauty. It’s not just words; it’s poetry – it’s listening to a song whilst the heart beats in tandem to the tune – furiously thumping its way into a rising crescendo.

“I’d forgotten.”

“You’d forgotten what?”

“What it’s like to be loved.”

The Shadow had everything any reader of romance and paranormal seek to find in a story. It had excellent pace with moments of sheer passion, intrigue, mystery, action and utterly stunning romance.

‘A bird in a cage is never as beautiful as a bird that is free.’

Reading this in one sitting I didn’t come up for air as I followed the continuing journey of the beautiful sweet soul; Raven and the distinguished passionate and somewhat arrogant Prince of Florence; William.

“You’re mine now. No one touches you. No one hurts you. And everyone who has will pay.”

The Shadow will captivate every sense of your being with vivid imagery, an enthralling story and characters who steal your heart. Of harrowing pasts and memories – loyalties, treason and war. This sensual, mesmerising, thrilling and refined series reminds me of why I fell in love with the paranormal romance genre many years ago. It felt like coming home.

“You’re a dream. A dream of love I never thought I’d have.”

The Shadow Excerpt

On Sunday evening, after spending the day together, William and Raven stood outside his villa next to his prized Triumph motorcycle.

“I can’t.” Raven backed away. “The last time I rode with you, I was sick.”

His eyes locked on hers. “This will be different. I swear.”

“You like to drive fast.”

“But I have trouble holding on. Sometimes it’s painful for my injured leg. I may have to ask you to stop so I can stretch.”

“Then we’ll stop.” He moved closer and caressed her face with the back of his fingers. “I won’t let harm come to you. I swear by the relic.”

Heat flared in Raven’s middle at the sound of his words. “You must respect the relic very much. It’s the only thing you swear by.”

He nodded, his gray eyes dark and very intense. “We don’t have time for the story tonight. I need to be sure you’re deposited in your bed early enough to rest before work tomorrow.”

“I’d rather listen to your story.”

He brushed a kiss across her lips. “Another time.”

She pressed her cheek to his chest and listened to the strange sound of his heart. “The restoration project is almost finished. I’ll be on vacation until the beginning of September. We could go somewhere.”

“I would like that.” He nestled his fingers in her hair. “I would like to take you to York, where I was born.”

He wound a lock of her hair around his finger, his gaze fixing on the black strand. “And I would like to take you with me tonight.”

Raven looked at the motorcycle, her grip on him tightening. He watched her, a shadow of hope crossing his handsome face.

She could not disappoint him. “Lead on, old one.”

He smiled widely and led her to his machine.

William appeared to have chosen the darkest, most winding road that led from the city. Fortunately for Raven, his Triumph roadster had twin headlights that cut through the night.

She held him tightly, sitting as far forward as possible, her front pressed to his back, her arms clasped around his waist. The position was uncomfortable for her leg, but she ignored the discomfort, focusing on the feeling of being so close to the person she loved.

He wore sunglasses, but no helmet, much to her consternation. He liked to feel the wind in his hair, he’d said, and was indifferent to the risk of an accident.

“I won’t let harm come to you,” he’d promised, insisting she wear a helmet. He’d procured a black leather jacket to protect her from the wind and took great pleasure in placing it on her.

Raven clutched him more closely, shifting forward on the passenger seat at the back, her face turned to the side as the large, powerful motorcycle wound around the curves at high speed.

“Are you all right?” He lifted his voice above the roar of the machine.

“It’s a little fast.” Her reply was muffled by the helmet.

She lied. It was far too fast and the strain of having to hold him so tightly aggravated her injuries, but she knew how much William enjoyed speed. She could feel his joy, his wild abandon, as he revved the engine in the straightaways and effortlessly guided the bike around the curves. Excitement thrummed through his body, his muscles taut with control.

Her thighs tightened on the outside of his as they went around a corner, her arms cutting into the unyielding steel of his abdominals. William decelerated and she heard him chuckle, the sound of his amusement disappearing on the wind.

He was happy. He was free. And because he loved her, he wouldn’t dare approach the speed he preferred.

“It’s a lovely night.” He gestured to the inky sky that peeked through the canopy of trees above them.

She hugged him in response. Her injured leg began to throb, so with regret she squeezed his right side, the signal that she needed a rest.

William slowed immediately, pulling off to the side of the road near a private drive. He removed his sunglasses, climbed off the bike, and helped her with her helmet, placing it on top of the seat before offering his hand.

When her stiff leg wouldn’t cooperate, he lifted her into his arms. In the dim starlight, she could still see the joy on his face.

His eyebrows drew together under her perusal. “What?”

“Seeing you happy makes me happy.”

Without warning, he pressed their mouths together. When they came apart, he whispered in her ear. “I’d forgotten.”

“You’d forgotten what?” Her questing fingers sifted through the hair at the back of his head.

“What it’s like to be loved.”

TB: Hello and happy Sunday, Sylvain – we are beyond the moon that you agreed to pop over for a little chat. It’s truly an honour as we are huge fans of your writing.

SR: Hello Gitte and Jenny. Thank you for the kind invitation to join you and your readers. It’s a pleasure to be with you.

TB: So tell us, when did you begin writing your first book?

SR: I began writing at an early age. I can’t remember when exactly, but I believe I was using crayons.

TB: We’d love to see those!

TB:  How did your love of Italy and her culture begin?

SR: I read Dante many years ago and his love for Beatrice always fascinated me. I’m also interested in Italian history. Much of my affection for Italy centers on the beautiful city of Florence and her citizens – past and present.

TB: We adore Italy, especially Tuscany – the beauty and of course the wine!

TB: What are the top three things you are yet to do in life which are on your bucket list?

SR: I’m an amateur rock climber and would like to climb a mountain.  I’ve always wanted to visit Antarctica.  I’d also like to study Arabic.

TB: Is there a book which you can re-read again and again?

SR: I’ve read JRR Tolkien’s “The Lord of The Rings” many times. I always enjoy the books and I always find something new.

TB: Have you got any hidden talents or a party trick up your sleeve?

SR: I’m a very bad ventriloquist.

TB: Can we be the judge of that? This is a talent we’d love to see and happy to be a part of – you can put your hands on our bums anytime!

TB: Do you have any writing quirks – writing habits?

SR: I can’t write until I’ve had coffee – sometimes more than one cup. And I must have almost complete silence when I write otherwise I can’t hear the dialogue.

TB: We’re more of a 10 cups of coffee before we can function kind of girls!

TB: What is your favourite/least favourite food?

SR: I like lasagna. I despise liver; it’s offal.

TB: Right Lasagne it is –  be at ours 8pm sharp 😉

TB: Are you a music fan? Do you have specific music whilst writing or silence?

SR: I’m a music fan. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Gregory Alan Isakov and Matthew Perryman Jones. But I can’t listen to music while writing because it interferes with my ability to judge how the sentences sound.

TB: Do you have a celebrity crush?

SR: I wouldn’t call it a crush per se but I’m a big Star Wars fan.

TB: Hmmm…..

TB: Which is your favourite season and why?

SR: I like Autumn because it isn’t too hot or too cold and it brings with it the opportunity to build fires indoors.

TB: Ours is spring but we’re loving the sound of an indoor fire….candlelight….soft music…..

TB: Chocolate or Vanilla?

SR: It depends if we’re talking about ice cream or sex …

TB: Oh Sylvain….ice cream….always ice cream 😉

About the Author

I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition – particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House.

 On one’s own terms

The day Gabriel decided to kill himself was a gorgeous, sun filled day. Hot and humid. But nothing about the appearance of the world matched his feelings. He had dressed himself in his best suit and pinned a note to his chest although he had no idea how long it would be before someone found his body. It didn’t matter though. He stepped carefully onto the dining room chair and secured the rope around his neck. He closed his eyes and thought about all the moments he had shared with his children. Annabelle in her little party dresses, flitting about the house carefree. Brant and his easy smile and charm. He’d wanted nothing more than a normal life and for a while, he’d had it. But had he even appreciated it while it was within his grasp? He couldn’t be sure anymore. Greed and plotting, murder and revenge had ravaged his life. Not just his life, those of his  children and both of his wives as well. Governments, the promise of notoriety and wealth, stole from his soul as much as he’d ever received from them. He’d made stupid choices for stupid reasons and it had all finally caught up with him. Gabriel never actually had what he wanted. It all came at a price. a price he had paid in blood;

He opened his eyes and looked up.

Yanked on the rope.

Without another thought, he stepped from the chair.

The rope bit into the skin at his neck. His fingers clawed at the rope out of instinct. His eye bulged from his head as his lungs struggled for air.

They burned.

Gabriel’s mind raced.

A thousand small thoughts.

A hundred regrets.

He changed his mind.

Gabriel wanted to live.

Then everything went black.

Monsters aren’t born, they’re made.

Gabriel stared blankly out his office window waiting. His daughter Annabelle should have been home an hour ago. Life lately had become a breath of fresh air. For the first time in decades, he felt his heart squeeze with joy. With life, again. The strains, sins and horrors of the past seemed to finally dissolve into oblivion. He was able to rebuild a relationship with Annabelle and it felt right. Life felt right as of late. It was a foreign feeling for him.

He ran his fingers through his already disheveled hair and looked up at the ceiling. It provided no answers. He tried his daughter’s cell phone again and it went to voicemail. He shook his head and made his way to the kitchen. He would start dinner himself.

Pierogis sizzled in butter, garlic and oil in the cast iron skillet on the stove. The smell filled the large space. Gabriel smiled to himself as he flipped each puffy pocket over in the pan. Annabelle loved it when he cooked pierogis for her. The chime of the doorbell startled him. He set the spatula down and strode to the front door. When he opened it, he immediately wished he hadn’t. Blue police lights strobed behind the officers standing before him. A sense of Deja vu washed over him. Brant. His chest constricted painfully.

“Mr. Fortin?”

Gabriel looked to the short uniformed man and nodded. Behind him, from inside the house, a burning odor made him realize the pierogis were ruined. “That’s me.”

“I’m Officer Mazak and this is Officer Richards. May we come in?”

Gabriel, confused but curious, opened the door wider and nodded. With an outstretched arm, he gestured to the living room.

Officer Masak spoke first after everyone sat down. “You’re daughter Annabelle is dead. There was an incident at the assisted living facility where she worked. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we will need you to come to the morgue and identify the body as soon as you can.”

Gabriel’s world spun wildly out of control. Anguish encompassed him. Surely there was some sort of mistake. Annabelle would be home any moment.  “What incident?”

“Sir, the fire alarm was tripped and the building cleared but there was no fire reported. However it appears Annabelle didn’t make it from the building with everyone else. Is there anyone you know who would want to harm her?”

“Harm Annabelle?” Who would harm a child? Who would harm his child? He squeezed his eyes shut and dragged a breath through his nose.

“Yes. Was anyone angry at her? Would anyone have a reason to hurt her?”

“Why? What happened to her? What are you saying?”

“It appears she’s been stabbed.”

“Stabbed? At the assisted living facility?” Nothing made any sense to him. The officer’s words seemed garbled and too thick to understand. Tears welled in his eyes. He blinked them back. Gabriel felt every emotion he was capable of. Anguish crushed his ribs. Hope clung to his brain. Heartbreak shattered his heart.

“Yes Sir. Again we’re sorry for your loss. Is there anyone you need to call?”

Monica. My God. He had to find Monica. “No. Yes. I don’t know. What are you doing to find out what happened?” Gabriel demanded.

“Sir, and investigation is under way. As soon as we know anything we will contact you.” The officer’s face held sympathy but it did nothing to quell Gabriel’s pain.

“Where is the morgue?”

When the officers finished their spiel and had written down the morgue address, Gabriel shuffled them out of his house. His brain was frozen on the only sentence he’d heard, You’re daughter Annabelle, was killed. What kind of cruel world would steal both children from a parent? He fumbled with his cell phone. Who should he call? Mark? Would he know something? Was he the one who did it? On the third ring Monica picked up. Sooner or later he would have had to tell her and sooner seemed like the better option.

“What?” she snapped. As always, their relationship was strained whenever they had contact lately. A part of him reveled in the fact that to her, the world was intact. That her greeting was a small piece of normalcy when everything else was spinning out of control.

“Annabelle is dead.” The words tumbled from his mouth without emotion. They erupted from him as a fact, a statement. Silence expanded between them. Then, on the other end of the line, shrieks and wails emerged to pummel his ear drums.

Gabriel’s chest shriveled then.

His heart calcified into an insignificant chunk of stone.

Ugliness begets ugliness

“These are her personal effects. They’ll be released to you after they are released from evidence.” The man spoke but Gabriel didn’t listen. He stared at Annabelle. Prone. White. Unmoving on a cold aluminum colored slab. Monica had collapsed at the sight of her daughter and was escorted from the room. Gabriel stayed. Riveted. His last moments with his daughter would be these. He wanted to stay forever. He wasn’t prepared to let her go. From the waiting area he heard a blood curdling scream. It snapped him from his thoughts. How long had he stood there lost in his own past? He strode quickly from one area to the other. Monica had Annabelle’s belongings splayed out before her. A chain hung from one hand. Rings dangling at the end. Annabelle’s cell phone in her other.

“I will kill her Gavin!” she screamed at him. Her face wore a raw pained expression. He wrinkled his brow in confusion and took the phone from his estranged wife’s hand.

It couldn’t be possible. His breath was sucked from his lungs in a moment. He struggled to breathe as he flipped from one picture to the next. There was no mistaking Celeste Fontaine. She was gorgeous even decades later. Gabriel lifted his eyes to Monica’s. Hers were rimmed red and swollen. “This is all your fault,” she seethed. The rings clanked as the necklace chain swung. He lurched forward, grabbing the necklace and inspected the rings. Before thinking better of it he marched back into the Medical Examiner’s office and demanded to see Annabelle again.

“Flip her over.” He had a sneaking suspicion he would be looking at an identical knife wound. The M.E. did as told. Gabriel gasped, choking for air. Celeste Fontaine was alive. His world tilted on its axis. He stumbled before catching himself on the end of the examination table. “What did the toxicology screening say?”

“We won’t have results back for another 24 to 48 hours. Sir, are you okay? Should I get the detectives down here?”

“No,” Gabriel clipped. No, no one could help them and he knew it.  If Celeste Fontaine had been alive all these years, if she had truly found him and Monique, there would be nothing the police or he could do to prevent her wrath. He wasn’t even able to tell the police his true identity. The government had already done what they could. There was no one and nothing that would aid him or Monique. But how? How had Celeste lived? How had she rebuilt herself, her life? Fear gripped Gabriel tight. He sank to his knees and let out a chilling scream.

Monica paced the living room. Every noise and creak of the house made her jump. “She will come for us too.” Her voice was frantic.

“No. No she won’t,” he replied. “We’re meant to suffer. Killing us would be too good for us. She wants us to suffer.”

“We have to find her Gabriel.” The name slips off her tongue as if it were just yesterday she used to call him that.

“And how would we go about that Monica? For decades she’s lived and watched and planned and we’ve been none the wiser.”

“We know she’s using Jezebel as her name. Surely we can have one of the C.I.A agents look into it?” Monica slumped down next to him on the couch. She hugged a pillow to her chest, sniffled and then sobbed because it smelled like Annabelle.

“I’m sure she’s not using that name. Clearly she wouldn’t be that stupid. All this time she was sitting there week after week with our daughter. We had no idea. As for the C.I.A. we burned that bridge a long time ago.”

Monica wailed a broken, ragged cry. Gabriel didn’t have the desire to comfort her. In part, she was to blame. They were both to blame. There would be no absolution for them. They were now left to rot in their lives, re-live the pain they had each caused, day after day. Gabriel swallowed down the bile that crept up his throat. He had accomplished nothing in the lifetime he was given. He would never be anything. His world had been a mirage, that much was apparent now. Celeste Fontaine had pulled the rug from beneath his feet. She stole his career in France. She stole his family in the United States. She stole his marriage. She stole everything from him. And he had been so smug at one point in his life. He’d truly believed that he could move on and have it all; that the sins of his past would never be able to touch the moments of his future. How foolish he’d been. Disgust washed over him when he looked at Monica. He couldn’t remember how or why he’d fallen in love with her and it irked him. “You need to leave,” he spat at the woman he used to love.

Monica’s head whipped backward, offended. She stood but hesitated. Her mouth opened but then snapped closed. Good, he thought. Monica Fortin turned and exited the house. Gavin Fortin got up and stormed out of the room. Tomorrow was a new day and he knew exactly what it would bring.

‘I live for the way she lightly bites my tongue when we kiss, and wish I were a better man every time she whispers, “I love you” against my lips.’

What a ride!! We spent most of this book in a state of nervous anticipation with our eyes covered, breaths held and tightly gripping our Kindles as Poesy and Low, two people who loved with honesty, passion and reckless abandon went from one calamitous dangerous situation to the next.

Mary Elizabeth certainly made us feel this story as we experienced the despair, the desperation and the hopelessness of Low and Poesy’s situation first hand. Her beautifully descriptive prose made it so we were able to smell the pungent stench in the air, see the degradation of their surroundings, and feel the thump of their heartbeats as we became willing, or unwilling participants in their crime spree with our hearts in our mouths, our minds in a whir and sitting in awe over the impeccable, unique and incredibly poetic beauty of this authors storytelling.

“Tell me a story, Poe. Say something important.”
“There’s a boy who loves a girl, he might think he loves her more than she loves him, but the truth is they love each other the same.”

Mary Elizabeth humanised these criminals and whilst we questioned and judged their actions, ultimately we found ourselves empathising with two young lovers driven by a desperate need to survive. Their decision wasn’t borne out of greed, but by sheer, bone deep desperation and we felt every inch of that first hand as our hearts ached for Poesy and Low.

“I can’t give you more than this, don’t sentence yourself to a life of poverty because you love me, Poe. You can do better than some petty fucking felon. “
“Don’t say that to me, Low. I love our life. I love you.”

When you are pushed to your limits, when every corner produces yet another dead end, when life is bleak and shows no promise, when you are prejudged as a criminal with no future you could be forced to make questionable decisions and that is exactly what faced Poesy and Low. They couldn’t see a way out of the misery they were living, finding comfort only in each other.

‘Guilty of my father’s crimes and culpable for being born underprivileged on the wrong side of the tracks, I was considered a criminal before I ever broke the law.’

This modern day Bonnie and Clyde brought to mind some of our favourite crime movies such as Natural Born Killers, Kalifornia, True Romance mixed in with the Robbers video by 1975 and all brought together in a gripping and sublimely told story by an incredibly talented author who never gave us a minute to catch our breath.

We couldn’t put this book down and hung in there for every heart pounding moment and rooted for these young lovers with all our hearts, never giving up hope in their hopelessness, however we did have a couple of issues that affected our overall enjoyment of Low. We would love to have experienced the build of their relationship prior to where it picked up in Low. To have lived it rather than read about it in past tense would have taken our feelings to whole other level. As the book progressed we did feel the depth and strength of their love but felt we needed more ‘before.’. We believe there is a prequel due out in April we hope will provide the backstory we desperately craved in Low. The term of endearments used in the book irritated us sadly. Having them refer to each other as ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ wore thin yet we know for most, this won’t be an issue but for us it was and again, it was a small annoyance in an otherwise gem of a story.

If you love heart stopping romance and want to be swept up in a story with a difference then do not hesitate to pick this one up. These two young lovers were guilty of stealing our heart.

“I can’t be anywhere else other than with you, Lowen, no matter what happens, we stay together.”

Erotic, highly emotional, darkly sexual love story. The pain in this story is vivid and real, the emotions even more so. Haunting and poignant, this series presents a darker side of BDSM.

5 emotional stars!

“He won’t hurt her. He doesn’t know how to hurt her.”

*This CANNOT be read as a standalone* – You must read this series (in chronological order – not the published reading order) as follows:  Finding Eden then Claiming Eden followed by Beyond Eden in order to read the series as intended and get the full benefit of an incredible series that will touch every part of your heart. The Eden series is hard to read but it’s fundamentally emotionally driven meaning aspects of the story become secondary to the mental and emotional torment of love and the self.

“I want him to be proud of me.”

“Your father is not a role model. He’s an abuser who beat a little boy so hard for so long he grew up thinking the only way to be loved is to have the shit kicked out of him.”

We read this series years ago yet still remember it with aching hearts and tears in our eyes. So, to say we were apprehensive yet eager to start reading Claiming Eden is an understatement. Paul, Danny and Eve have owned our hearts ever since we met them; their story so heart breaking, passionate and unusually romantic. Their journey is not easy rather it is fraught with pain and searing love. So many tears!

Danny loves Paul with all his heart and he knows he’ll never get that love and tenderness completely returned as Paul wants him to carry on and emulate a childhood indoctrination of pain equals love.

‘Devoted slave and loyal best friend was as close as they would ever get.’

Again, the story of Paul broke our hearts once more as much as it did the first time. We absolutely have no doubts at all that Paul loves Danny, but the nature of his love does not necessarily mirror Danny’s love for Paul and this is so fucking sad. The lengths Danny goes to in order to protect, love and keep Paul safe is heart-breaking. Danny boy craves and ultimately needs the softness and tenderness to make up for the unbearable pain giving yet his necessary struggle and incessant want to be what Paul needs makes his sacrifice so much more evident. Paul and Danny – best friends from childhood; their love is immeasurable yet heartbreakingly unalike.

He lost Paul in those tender moments when Danny wanted to hold him instead of hurt him. Love him instead of insult him.’

We hope with all our hearts that Kele Moon decides to write more which takes us to the time after Beyond Eden. Claiming Eden opened up old wounds from when we read this series last and the only healing grace would be more from Paul, Danny and Eve.

Artist Eve Everton made the painful decision to leave her true love Paul for the siren call of New York City. Now ten years later, with her life in shambles, she returns. When Paul’s waiting arms aren’t available, Eve falls for Danny’s charm and finds herself a willing accomplice in the dangerous games Danny plays.

Paul Mattling is a successful attorney with a bright future ahead of him, but behind those brilliant blue eyes are secret desires for a taste of the forbidden. Will he play it safe or give in to Danny and Eve and bite the apple?

Handsome, angry and spoiled, Danny Carlow struggles to find his place in the world when his hatred for authority makes survival difficult. The only thing that keeps him from completely giving up and turning to a life of crime is his friendship with clean-cut Paul Mattling. More than his conscience and his best friend, Paul’s also the one Danny secretly pines for with every ounce of his being.

Paul is a natural over-achiever with a football scholarship and straight A’s to boast about. Yet Paul is haunted by an abusive childhood that’s left him more scarred than anyone realizes. Looking for an escape from his demons, Paul has his own deviant secrets, ones he doesn’t want anyone, especially Danny, to know about.

When dark desires are accidentally revealed Danny and Paul end up coming together in a clash of wild passion more tumultuous than either of them could have anticipated. Tasting the forbidden is sweet, but it turns the tables on their relationship, putting everything, even their lifelong friendship, in jeopardy.

Dawn of Forever

Spoiler Free Review  by Gitte & Jenny

✯✯✯✯✯ ‘we adored this’ Stars!

“What’s left when someone takes back forever?”

Without question Dawn of Forever completes one of the most exciting, romantic, thrilling, passionate and darkly humorous series we’ve ever read. To say it’s one of our all-time favourite series is an understatement. Bravo Jewel E Ann we take our hats off to you and stand applauding on the finish line. Because wow. We have to admit we always worry about trilogies – keeping that momentum going and tying up those pesky loose ends. Well, we needn’t have worried here because we got all the answers and more whilst being taken on one hell of a rollercoaster ride that began where we least expected it to. It was magnificent and awe inspiring.

“I want you to let go. I want you to free fall into my arms and know I’ve got you. I’ll always have you.”

“Don’t ever ask me not to love you.”

“Because I need to love you.” Drawing in a ragged breath, he shrugged. “It’s all I know,” he whispered.

Dawn of Forever is the conclusion to the Jack & Jill series so there’s not much we can say without spoiling this brilliant series which as you know is the last thing we would ever want to do.

‘His hand moved towards hers. Letting just the tip of his finger touch the end of hers. He inched it up with the softest touch. Then, like a young child, she grabbed his finger and squeezed. Luke felt her touch in the deepest depths of his heart.’

Therefore know this, you’ll NOT want to miss this series that had us gripped from the first page – where every single book brought everything to the table having us riveted and breathlessly devouring every written word. We will miss every single character as they stole such a huge chunk of our hearts.

“I worship the ground you walk on.” A blinding smile grew along his face as he pulled her into his arms and whispered in her ear, “Impossible. When I’m with you my feet don’t touch the ground.”

There is absolutely nothing else we would want, this whole trilogy was perfection. We’ve fallen in love with every single character, we’ve struggled with our heart – we’ve laughed to tears, cried buckets and swooned again and again.

‘He would die for Jessica. He would kill for her. He would end ten lives to save one, if that one was hers. It wasn’t sane. It was far from rational. But it was love, and true walk-through-the-fucking-flames-of-hell love was unconditional and completely insane.’

Our hearts have melted into puddles at the romance and our pulses have skyrocketed at the passion. The writing was flawless – so again. Standing ovation from us to Jewel E Ann.

“I can’t let her go…I can’t fucking breathe. Let them kill me because I’m already dead.”

Now excuse us as we’re off to see about having some light pink and white argyle panties made with the inscription: Property of Doctor Jones.

“I’ve got you. I’ll always have you.”

dawn of forever teaser 3

WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS from the first two books

Jessica restrained her response behind tight lips and a slow nod. “I think we’re done for today.”

“Jessica!” The pain in her mom’s voice wasn’t enough to stop her from retreating to the bedroom and answering with a slam of the door.

Stripping off her clothes, she pulled on a T-shirt and jogging shorts, yanking at them as if they too had offended her.

“Want to talk about it?”

Her chin dropped to her chest on an exhale as Luke’s body pressed to her back. His arms wrapped around her shoulders, protecting her, loving her, reminding her that he was her home.

“I don’t need Dr. Jones right now. I need my Luke.”

His lips brushed the side of her neck. “And he needs you.”

She closed her eyes. “I’m scared.”

“Of what?”

“Of having …” The words caught in her throat.

“Of having what?”

“Everything I’ve ever wanted.”

“Oh, baby …” Luke turned her in his arms. “I adore you. This is happening. You deserve everything you’ve ever wanted. Instead, you’re getting me and Jones.” He grinned. “But the three of us are going to make it work anyway. Forever.”

The feel of forever beneath her lips as she pressed them to his bare chest, brought happy tears. “Cathy and Daniel were my and Jude’s godparents. I idolized their marriage, just like I do my parents’. Through everything, I’ve held this shred of hope that there is truly someone for everyone … that happily ever after really does exist. But when Cathy left Daniel, I questioned everything I held on to. Then my mom stood by her side without question, as if she somehow empathized with Cathy, and that’s bugged me for years. Why would she do that? I get forgiveness, I really do. But not once has my mom acknowledged that the affair was wrong and then today … Can you believe she asked me how I would feel if it was her and Dad instead of Cathy and Daniel? Talk about fucking with my mind and kicking my dreams in the gut.”

Their embrace intensified as if he could squeeze every last drop of doubt and insecurity from her.

“It was hypothetical.”

“What if it wasn’t? Hypothetical questions are oftentimes reality in disguise. I have this ‘friend’ who might be pregnant. What do you think ‘she’ should do?”

Luke pulled back a fraction, brows arched as he peered down at her. “Baby, are you pregnant?”

She pinched his sides until he buckled at the waist, chuckling.

“I’m not pregnant, you dimwit. I’m trying to be serious.”

“So Kelly is pregnant?”

“Luke!” Her pinch turned into a gut punch.

He grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her so hard breathing became an afterthought. Walking her back into the wall of his dress shirts that hung from hangers spaced evenly apart, he lifted her up until her back pressed to the wall. A few perfectly-starched shirts surrendered, falling to the floor.

Jessica gasped for air as lips devoured every inch of skin along her neck. “I love the way you love me. It’s … everything.

“It’s forever,” he whispered in her ear, sliding her T-shirt up her body and over her head.

End of Day

Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust; in the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life.

Four caskets. Two bodies.

Jessica and Jude Day witness their funeral and that of their parents a few yards away from mourning family and friends. Stripped of the only life they’ve ever known, the Days say goodbye to San Francisco forever.

Six months later, two thirty-year-old misfits with elite self-defense skills and penchants for alcohol, sex, and trouble arrive like an earthquake to Peaceful Woods, a retirement community in Omaha, Nebraska, that thrives on rules and gossip. Welcome home, Jackson and Jillian Knight.

Jackson celebrates his new beginning by embracing his job and wiping his cavalier past clean with a temporary oath of celibacy. But Jillian’s past is branded into her soul—the deaths, the insanity, Dr. Luke Jones, and the need to make her lovers bleed. Her chance for redemption comes in the form of a next door neighbor, one Senior Master Sergeant Monaghan. He’s sexy, dangerously alluring, and riddled with emotional issues from years of service. He’s also … So. Damn. Grumpy.

Their mission is simple: Let go, start over, don’t kill anyone, and pray that nobody wakes the dead.

middle of the knight

The living seek forgiveness. The dead seek revenge.

A first love.
A last breath.
A haunting past.

Armed with a sinful past and an equally sinful body, Jackson Knight absolves his vow of celibacy to pursue Sergeant Monaghan’s unsuspecting—older—housekeeper.

Ryn Middleton, on the cusp of turning forty with a snarky daughter, a killer dog, and an abusive ex-husband, finds Jackson’s advances humorous and unbelievable. After intense negotiations including Vera Wang, Ed Sheeran, and sex four times a day, Ryn accepts Jackson’s marriage proposal on their first date.

What could possibly go wrong?

While struggling to lay claim to the woman of the dreams he never had, Jackson is forced to deal with a grief-stricken Jillian trying to hold on to her past without letting go of her future—the doctor who took her heart and the Sergeant who gave her a new one.

Beyond the hope for light, lies the middle of darkness, the illusion of truth, and a haunting past.
