to hate adam connor

*Lucy’s story is a complete standalone*

So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I’ve ever come across.

Let’s be honest here, wouldn’t you wanna take a peek over the wall to catch a glimpse of him, hopefully when he is naked? Wouldn’t you melt away after watching him work out as his five-year-old kid cheered him on? Do I even have to mention those abs, the big bulge in his pants, or that arm porn? Oh, wait, you would never spy on him? Sure…

While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder—or maybe a boob or two—to cry on (y’know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people! He was supposed to grant me countless orgasms as a thank you, not a jail cell.

After that day, I was mentally plotting ways to strangle him instead of jumping his bones to make sweet love. So what if my body did more than just shiver when he whispered dirty little things in my ear? I can’t be held responsible for that. And when was the last time he’d kissed anyone anyway? Who’d enjoy a kiss with a side of heart attack?

Even if he and his son were the best things since sliced bread—and I’m not saying he was—I couldn’t fall for him. No matter what promises he whispered on my skin, my curse wouldn’t let us be. I wasn’t a damsel in distress—I could save myself, thank you very much—but deep inside, I still hoped Adam Connor would be the hero of my story.

“You can’t look at me like that.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m not supposed to like you.”
“But I like you very much, Lucy.”

What a fabulous read! This one ticked all the romance ‘want‘ boxes! It was sweet, funny, had a drool worthy hero, a feisty heroine who certainly made him work for her affections and fabulous banter between Lucy and Olive, her best friend. Not to mention Adam is a Hollywood heartthrob and Hollywood’s hottest Dad to THE most ADORABLE little five year old boy you could ever meet. Who, we might add was written exceptionally well! Authors don’t always deliver child age appropriate dialogue but this author had it down pat. We wanted to pick little Aiden up and give him a great big squeezy hug….hmmmm, and we’d like to squeezy hug and paw his sexy Dad too!

“Lucy, I hope you’re being gentle with your heart, taking care of it for me.”

Adam Connor has it going on alright, he was one delectable man! Hmm how do we love you Adam, let us count the ways!

Hot successful Hollywood star ✔

Exceptionally good looking ✔
Hottest Dad in Hollywood  ✔
Single after being recently divorced✔
Doting Dad of an adorable 5 year old little boy who stole our hearts ✔
Swoooony romantic ✔
Well-equipped and a demon between the sheets ✔
Filthy dirty talker ✔
Sexy sinful smirker✔
Abs to die for✔

Oh yeah, no wonder Lucy hated him…….wait…what? Lucy girl, are you insane?? This man was handpicked by God. This guy was…he was perfection, swoooooooooony perfection!

‘And now, on top of everything else, I had to start hating him for making me feel like he could be my home one day.’

But we can forgive the feisty Lucy her temporary insanity in hating Adam Connor, after all, she’s cursed where l.o.v.e is concerned. That’s right, Lucy believes a love curse has been passed down to the women in her life resulting in them never achieving their happy ever after, so men are off limits to her heart! If you don’t open your heart to love, you can’t get hurt, right? Well, in theory it’s great, but her heart didn’t forsee Adam Connor swaggering into her life!

“I’m going to un-break your heart, Lucy.”

Following a break up, Lucy temporarily moves in with her best friend Olive, an author married to another Hollywood heartthrob, Jason Thorn (check out To Love Jason Thorn). After a few commiserating Tequila shots, the pair embark on a perving expedition on the guy next door who happens to be none other than Hollywood hunk, Adam Connor. Well, let us tell you, this scene with Lucy and her little green Olive, was priceless. These girls had us giggling as we imagined their cheeky during this escapade! We wouldn’t mind gawping at the sexy, shirtless, ripped, good looking Hollywood star right along with them.  It would be rude not to, right?

“Sweet Jesus, even his throat is sexy. And there is a big bulge, Olive.”
“Is he hard?”
“No – hell, I don’t know, but it couldn’t possibly be that big when he is soft.”

Whilst Lucy may lust after every luscious inch of Mr. Connor, it is while witnessing the interaction between Adam and his darling son, Aiden that softens her heart. The care, attentiveness and pure love that pours from Adam when Aiden was around…well, if that didn’t win her over, nothing was going to. These two sure as hell had our hearts in  melted mess.

“I don’t want you to cry, Daddy. I won’t leave you and go fly again. I promise.”

There’s no doubt about it, Ella Maise writes a fabulous Hollywood tale. There was so much we loved about this romance!  The little Gossip Mag snippets were an entertaining and wonderfully crafted addition which at times felt so real, we forgot we weren’t following an actual Hollywood couple! This book encapsulated everything we love in a swoony Hollywood boy meets girl romance, with the delightful inclusion of a gorgeous little boy and some hilarious BFF fun banter…plus not one, but two Hollywood hotties! And colour us surprised if Ella Maise didn’t even manage to throw us a curve ball or two that had our hearts teetering on the edge. We walked away from this story with hearts were full of warmth in this entertaining, sexy and fabulously fun read!

“I hope you’re the hero of my story, because I deserve to be loved, goddamit.”

 to love jason thorn

Jason Thorn… My brother’s childhood friend.

Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy that made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time—he was the reason for them all. But, you only get to live in that fairytale world until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.

After the stomping part he became the boy I did my best to stay away from—and let me tell you, it was pretty hard to do when he slept in the room right across from mine.

When tragedy struck his family and they moved away, I was ready to forget he ever existed.

Now he is a movie star, the one who makes women of all ages go into a screaming frenzy, the one who makes everyone swoon with that dimpled smile of his. Do you think that’s dreamy? I certainly don’t think so. How about me coming face to face with him? Nope still not dreamy. Not when I can’t even manage to look him in the eye.

Me? I’m Olive, a new writer. Actually, I’m THE writer of the book that inspired the movie he is about to star in on the big screen. As of late, I am also referred to as the oh-so-very-lucky girl who is about to become the wife of Jason Thorn.

Maybe you’re thinking yet again that this is all so dreamy? Nope, nothing dreamy going on here. Not even close.

✯✯✯✯ Stars

“You sure took your time”
“You’ve been waiting on me to kiss you?”
“Ever since I was a little girl.”

Hollywood romance, romantic comedy, unrequited childhood love, friends to lovers themes; they’re some of our favourites and in To Love Jason Thorn we had all these bundled into one sweet, steamy and witty story about the girl who seeks her real life fairy-tale and we happily went along for the ride, becoming swept up in this romance just as much as Olive did in the books she wrote.

‘She was seeing me, and maybe for the first time, I was seeing her too.’ “Do you see me, Olive?”

Olive Taylor was quite literally the girl next door. Jason Thorn was her brother’s best friend and the boy she crushed on and lost her heart to from the very first moment she met him and it never let up. After being devastated when Jason had to move away following a family tragedy, Olive kept tabs on him through his movie career. She’s never forgotten him or the feelings he elicited in her.

‘I think I’m scared. To be that close to him, to fall in deeper. He already broke my heart once when I was just a kid.’

Jason is now 26 and a famous movie star known more for his wild escapades than his acting ability, though he’s a fan favourite and a gossip columnist dream, studios are beginning to get a bit spooked by his off screen behaviour and his ability to carry a movie if his behaviour continues.

Good grief Jason Thorn. We bloody loved this man!! WOW!!! The sexy, swaggering bad boy with the dirty mouth could charm the pants off us one minute with his naughty mouth, and have us weak at the knees the next with his sweet and witty banter with Olive and the way he possessively looked after her….swooooooon!

‘Soon enough, I’ll win you over. You already loved me once; I’ll make it happen again.’

Olive and Jason’s path cross seven years later when Jason is called in to star in a movie, based on a book written by Olive. For Olive, seeing Jason again after seven years brings all her childhood feelings and insecurities to the surface.  How awkward for her, especially as she based a lot of the book on Jason himself. Will she be able to hide her feelings for him and not reveal how much in love with him she was, and is? Does he feel the same? Does he harbor thoughts for Olive too or is he that good an actor?

‘My dream boy.
My childhood crush.
My first love.
My only love.’

Olive was such a sweet and witty character, her inner monologue was giggle worthy and her friendship with Lucy was hysterical. We’d love to go to a Karaoke night with those two! They’ve be a hoot! Lucy especially had us in fits and added so much light-heartedness and fun to the story.

Jason and Olive have a chemistry that’s not lost on the paparazzi that follow and chronicle and deconstruct Jason’s every tawdry move but in Olive they see something different. Could she be ‘the one’ for Jason, could she tame him? Could it be the real thing? Well, we certainly enjoyed finding out.

‘Every time she looked into my eyes with her heart wide open, she was pulling me in deeper.’

We loved how Jason and Olive’s relationship developed. The Hollywood ‘insight’ was done especially well, making us feel a part of Jason’s world. The chemistry between Jason and Olive was off the charts and the intimate and private moments that passed between them melted our hearts. Pure entertainment, no overthinking or analysing required. Simply a fabulous way to spend the afternoon!
