“I will not break!” It was a scream from the very heart of her.
“I will not let you but neither will I let you break me,”
he whispered

We could wax lyrical about Lea Griffith’s writing and the world she creates in the No Mercy Series but whatever we say would not adequately do her words justice.

‘She was a velvet promise that you reached for with eager hands, the stroke of her presence in your life soft but brutal.’

Her sweeping narrative engrosses us, yet we have to pause and reflect at the talent of this phenomenally gifted storyteller. Lea Griffith takes words and spins them into stunning passages that have us torn between wanting to ravenously wanting to get to the end, yet at the same time wanting to savour ever single beautiful word.

Lea Griffith certainly puts us through our paces! She keeps us guessing, throws in suspense, mystery and revelations at an astounding rate, yet never once does she lose us with the speed in which her story progresses!  Not at all!  From Russia to Australia from London to America, Lea has taken us on a gripping, intriguing, suspenseful and heart breaking journey with four women whom we’ve come to care about as each of their stories breaks us just that little bit more.

‘Her face was a testament that there was a God and he knew beauty. Her tone was proof there was a devil and he’d built her from the ashes of despair.

We won’t cover too much of the story being this is the third instalment, the reader needs to experience each woman’s story as it carries a piece of the puzzle to complete their stories. Conspiracies are discovered, lies told, truths bent and all come back to the ‘First Team’ of four women, Bullet, Arrow, Bone and Blade. Women raised to kill, to show no remorse and be black of heart.

‘Better to kill with the ice of hate, than with the fires of rage.’

Bone’s story was just as tragic and heartbreaking as Bullet and Arrows. Each story begins with their point of view in a tragic scene that is the catalyst that sparks off a chain of events in which the women (and many others) seek retribution. Honestly, each time we hear this painful, harrowing event from one of the women, our hearts break even more, never failing to shed tears at this harrowing and heartbreaking scene.

‘Pain is nothing but a reminder that I was created for death.’

Dmitry Asinimov is a man with his own painful past and whose life is intrinsically tied to the sisters. Dmitry is a man on a mission, on a quest to uncover the truth regarding his family. He is seeking his own answers, his own revenge and in the process shadowing Bone and falling for the woman he sees beneath the heart of a killer.

‘Only he was allowed to feel lust for her. Only he was allowed to hunt her. Only he would be allowed to break her. ‘

Their love story was as torturous as it was beautiful as two damaged souls seek to find the strength to love and will to hope. They each need their own brand of healing.

‘She knew every way to kill it seemed, but this man made her want to live and it hurt.’

This was an exquisitely told story and the only issue was a couple of times it came across a  little repetitive. We understand the need to revisit parts of previous books, but as we’ve been there from the beginning, the retelling of some events only seemed to halt the flow of the story for us. Also; the women are their own person yet seem to blend into one in some ways. The same mould but varying attributes. We understand that these women lived ‘as one’ in many respects however; not much sets them apart.

Other than that, this story delivered and it delivered brilliantly.  The writing was nothing short of breathtaking. The story exhilarating. Bone and Dmitry’s love was passionate and their story was engrossing. Once again we were mesmerized and extremely emotionally involved. The No Mercy series IS NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

TOO MUCH (All or Nothing #1) by LEA GRIFFITH

too much

In Lea Griffith’s Loveswept debut, a novel that’s perfect for erotic romance readers, two lovers who have shared exquisite pain and unforgettable bliss find solace back in each other’s arms.

Jeremiah Copeland and Daly Edwards have a history. Even though he grew up a criminal struggling to care for two younger siblings, and she’s the pampered daughter of a power-hungry senator, they formed a bond that nothing could break. Only a lack of trust ripped them apart.

Seven years later, Daly has reason to believe that Jeremiah’s brother is in trouble. She reaches out to Jeremiah the only way she knows how: at his BDSM club, The Underground. But one look ignites a heat she thought had cooled forever. As Jeremiah takes control of her body once again, Daly quickly loses control of her carefully rebuilt world. Too much has never been enough between them, and as danger swirls in the shadows, Jeremiah forces Daly to recognize what has never changed: She still loves him. His command is that she return her heart—and he will make her obey.

Too Much is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Gitte – 3.5 Stars

I love this Author hard! After all she wrote two of my favourite books in the ‘No Mercy’ series.  ‘Too Much’ was very sexy and commanding at times, the writing was flawless and there’s no denying the sizzling hot chemistry between Jeremiah and Daly. I have to say I do have a special place in my heart for a dominating controlling Dom and Jeremiah’s no exception. He was lush, though he needs to be taught the lesson of beneficial communication!

‘She had loved him. He hadn’t loved her enough.’

The emotional element was very strong and I completely believed in it, however, my main problem was that whilst I don’t enjoy being spoon fed by Authors, I do need to emotionally connect with a character and sadly I had a few problems with Daly. At times she shone like a diamond but then in the next breath became wishy washy and annoying.  At times I couldn’t believe this was a heroine penned by Lea Griffith. In some ways I also think my issue is that this story became about the nookie and hotness factor thus negatively impacting the story as a whole. Yes it was hot and intensely sexy, I loved that, but I wanted more from Lea Griffith because she’s such a brilliant author! The crux of the story came too late and was very rushed in my opinion. There was barely any communication, background explanation nor expanded upon reason for the mystery and intrigue. I do realise that this is a very different book to her previous work, however, it missed that magic I’ve come to look forward to and almost expect from this Author. I wanted more of how Jeremiah and Daly came to be where they are in life, both individually and together.

“You have my everything because you will give me yours.”

I wanted more because it could have been so bloody good! I have to say I loved that we got both POV’s as it made it that much better and easier to understand character behaviour and lack of that all-important trust. I found Jeremiah’s backs story fascinating!

“You can’t see my soul but it’s wrapped around yours. You carried it with you when you left.”

So sadly no, I didn’t love it, but I did enjoy it and would recommend this fun and sexy quick read to lovers of mild BDSM and a hot controlling Dom.

READ THIS BOOK!!!!  5+++++ Amazing and Beautifully written Stars

Gitte: This second series instalment right here confirms why Lea Griffith has become one of my all-time favourite Authors. This lady is in a class of her own. She is PURE CLASS! Her writing is magnificent, it’s stunningly beautiful, poetic and evocative. Lea turns me inside out as I weep, suffer, rejoice and feel every single emotion possibly known to a reader. From page one till the last I feel so incredibly spoilt as everything I experience and feel as I’m reading is pure perfection. Her words flow beautifully from the pages into my heart. It feels so graceful and pure; passionate and lyrical. My mind doesn’t register the fact that I’m reading; rather it’s as if I’m watching from the wings, feeling like a voyeur, as tragedy, horror, love and hope plays out before my eyes.

She walks in darkness but is afraid of it.’

“With pain you know you’re alive.”

We continue to follow the ‘sisters’ footsteps in ridding the world of the malevolence and horrific tragedy’s that were created and carried out by Joseph Bombardier and the evil that surrounds him. The mystery and intrigue deepens as the story continues and we learn more of the appalling past of the ‘sisters’ as well as the members of Trident. We’re getting closer and closer to the end and the puzzle pieces are slowly slotting into place. My attention was firmly held every step of the way as I inhaled one word after the next; the words imprinting on my mind and in my heart. I felt dizzy and exhausted by the time I’d finished.

There’s pedestals and then there’s Lea Griffith. I want to shout from the top of the tallest building to go read her books because you’ll experience journeys of the heart and soul which are hard to rival such is the intensity and power of this Author’s creations. Wow….I’m unable to, in any way, do justice to how fantastic this series is and how thankful I am to have experienced the works of this Author. Once again, Lea blew my mind and I can’t wait for book #3!!

You agree don’t you Jenny?

Jenny First things first Gitte, I want to yell to everyone –  READ THIS SERIES!!!!!  At one point in this book I stopped reading, put my Kindle down, sat back in my chair and reflected….. astounded at the sheer brilliance and talent of an author who can bring a story such as this to life.

How does one capture that imagination and present it with such flawless, lyrical prose and such beautiful vivid imagery? Lea Griffith had me believing in her story and I shared every heart stopping scene, every second of anguish, every thread of hope and every haunting, gripping, pulsating moment with her characters. The world in the No Mercy series is described so vividly yet this never overpowers nor  does it halt the flow of the story, in fact, every word demands attention and her settings almost fantasy like.

“That one has nothing – no soul, no conscience. Hell, she has a heart because she’s alive, but even that’s a dead thing in her chest.”

The passion, longing and potency of the relationship between Arrow and Adam enthralled me, the bond between the sisters captivated me and as Arrow’s horrendous and tragic story unfolded, I ached with her, I wept with her and I hoped with her.

In short, I was entranced, enthralled, moved…..hell, this book, and Bullet to the Heart before it, OWN me heart and soul. I wanted to savor and treasure every beautifully written word so as to do this story the justice is so richly deserves.  Each book is like a puzzle piece coming together and each revelation is devoured as we wait for more, being deliciously teased as we go. So yes Gitte, I absolutely loved this book. Magnificent!

Gitte: This is the emotional story of Arrow and her life will make your heart literally ache in despair and shock, as you learn what this girl has had to endure and what she’s been created to achieve. You’ll be rocked to the core at the atrocities yet marvel at the bravery, the heart felt emotion and the kick arse ability of this warrior girl. A girl borne to bring death; live death; a supposedly soul less creature according to herself, who lives and fights in the dark.

“I am nobody, Mr. Collins. A killer born in darkness, never to know the light. The shadow I cast blends into the black because light does not touch one such as me. It skirts around me, avoiding me at all costs, because I am a light eater…a death-bringer. I don’t bring the light. I destroy it.” – Arrow

A girl refusing to break and who unknowingly seeks light and love knowing nothing but hate, pain and revenge. She will make you cry yet she’ll also make you proud. Her story is veiled in mythical depictions and intrigue; her story is epic with no boundaries.

‘…Arrow was not whole. She had a heart, recognized it was so because she felt it beat, heard the blood rushing through her veins because it contracted within her chest. But she had no soul. The simple truth was she’d been born without one, and the lack of it allowed her to do what she did – mete out death.’

And what about Adam, this man was so powerful and a true warrior counterpart; the light to Arrow’s darkness.

“I had thought to taste you again, Mr. Collins, so I could remember that in the midst of death, there might be a reason to live.” – Arrow

The fighting scenes between Arrow and Adam were superb, so sensual and passionate; so very kick arse! We fell in love with Adam didn’t we J?!

Jenny: Oh absolutely Gitte. The passion felt between Adam and Arrow was palpable yet so moving and beautiful.  Every ounce of torment experienced by Adam deep was felt deep in my soul.

Adam Collins, the loyal, astute, razor sharp former soldier who is a born protector – a natural warrior whose biggest battle will be waged trying to protect Arrow and fight his feelings for a woman who disgusts him yet intrigues him. Hating himself and Arrow for what she invokes in him. How could he experience the depth of feelings he had for this cold and calculating soul less killer?

‘..he’d not ever seen anything quite so lovely in his thirty-two years, but she was death.’
‘Killer, his mind whispered. Want, demanded his body.’ –

Adam was able to see inside Arrow, to see the broken and vulnerable woman underneath the cold exterior. He felt the beating heart beneath the blackness and she called to him like no other. Having previously given his heart to another, Adam was torn between the space in his heart reserved for Aziveh and the thoughts of Arrow constantly occupying his mind. The conflict he felt over his longing and need for Arrow could be felt in every pore.

“You’re warning me away from a woman who disgusts me.”….”But I’m drawn to her like I’ve never been to anyone else. I don’t understand it.” – Adam

Adam had served in Afghanistan is a natural born protector and now serves Trident with his friend Rand. These men have stared death and evil in the face and their need to protect runs deep…death and killing come as part of that.  Arrow is committed to her sisters and they share an unbreakable bond, fuelled by a joint need for all costs. Worlds collide, loyalties are tested and in amongst the suspense and drama there is the simmering passion between a man and a woman who alternate between love, lust and hate.

“What is it you would give me?” – Arrow
“Pleasure such as you’ve never known. Because that’s what it will be, Saya.” –
“I’m nothing more than a killer, Mr Collins, and I’ve never known pleasure.” –

The bond between Arrow and her sisters would never waiver, the loyalty and dedication between Adam and Trident was a cemented bond. Arrow and Adam are two brave souls, each with a purpose, and each with a goal that will not be compromised despite the feelings that rage between them. It all makes for a gripping and heart wrenching read.

G&J: Lea Griffith wowed us with Bullet to the Heart and she has completely rocked our world in Arrow to the Soul. One can only surmise the journey she will take us on when she brings us Bone and Blade’s stories.  And we CAN’T WAIT! This is what makes reading a passion for us. To experience something so powerful that it can move us to the point of tears when discussing it long after closing the book, to know that on some level this book has somehow reached into our souls….that is the stuff book dreams are made of.

To be back with Bullet and Rand was mesmerizing and they too, brought us to our knees:

I told you Mr. Beckett…I told you what would happen. You are mine now and nothing touches what is mine….My sisters hold my loyalty. But you, Mr. Beckett, you hold my heart.”Bullet.

So put the children to bed, pour a wine, order some take out and prepare to become immersed in a story that is as gruesome as it is beautiful, as hopeless as it is hopeful.

Be prepared to have your reading world turned on its head as you enter the world of The Trident and The Sisters where love, revenge, passion, suspense and drama will consume every part of you until the very last page.

And now, Saya, do you know what you taste of?…..Now you taste of me.” – Adam

Prepare yourself to be bewitched by writing that is vivid, powerful and engrossing. Prepare to fall in love with this book!

In the words of Bullet…….. “vous êtes mon coeur. Toujours”This book and this series are in our hearts forever!

Gitte: 5 Suspenseful and Sexy Stars
Jenny: 5 What she said ^^^

Gitte: So wow, this was different….different in the most thrilling, dark, heart-breaking and sexy passionate way. Yeah, this book had EVERYTHING! What a find Jenny!! What a truly addictive fast paced story that takes the reader through every emotion possible, as you slowly break down from what’s unfolding in front of your eyes. I feel like I’ve been on one hell of an exhausting ride that had my heart and pulse racing for so many reasons. I found this to be an extremely visual story which is purely down to excellent writing and fantastic characters.

“I am nothing. No one.” – Bullet

‘Bullet to the Heart’ blew my mind and I loved every single minute spent reading, hating any interruption life threw at me. It’s very dark and disturbing and at times some scenes make for uncomfortable reading but the rawness of emotion is overwhelmingly powerful and I just could not put it down.

The heroine is so kick arse I have a serious girlie crush on her, though her story made me cry, and the hero, well he’s bloody lush. All the other characters played their part and the story was intense, intriguing and passionate. Seriously, I bloody LOVED it!

‘Let not your enemy know you. Let him feel you as you take the breath from his chest.’ – Joseph Bombardier

I know you felt the same Jenny, because we couldn’t stop talking about it!

Jenny:  We’ve certainly burnt up the phone lines discussing Bullet to the Heart that’s for sure! Gitte, I seriously don’t think I skipped one single word in this book. I was enthralled from start to finish and didn’t come up for air and yes…god help anyone who sought to interrupt my reading time! That’s why takeaway menus were invented! No way was I going to miss a minute of the suspense, intrigue, heat and gahhh the emotion. I cried a few times in this book and some scenes brought me to my knees.

‘Seven years he’d waited for this opportunity. Seven fucking years. “It would too easy, wouldn’t it, Bullet?” –  Rand Beckett

I don’t think I exhaled until I read the last word.  My stomach was in knots, my heart was racing (from the suspense and the heat I might add) Wow! And here we were thinking the synopsis knocked our socks off….nothing could have prepared us for what was contained inside!

“Tell me, are you willing to beg?”  – Rand
“I don’t beg…” – Bullet
“You will” – Rand

It had everything that’s for sure. Suspense by the truckload, a hero to die for, a heroine who was kick arse but whose vulnerability made me ache for her and every single character intrigued me.  I absolutely loved Bullet and yes…I admit to have a great big girlie crush on her too.

‘How could a woman who looked so damn vulnerable be so deadly?’

This was such a different read and hands down a real winner!

Gitte: Right, so we have Bullet our female lead. She is a detached and cold killer who has had such a tragic and disturbing life it had me in floods of tears not only for her but also her ‘sisters’. I got chills and at times I felt sick to my stomach as her training/childhood was uncovered. She was taught not to feel, be seen or heard or it would have dire consequences. Bullet does not break. Her strength is immeasurable.

“I was formed long ago out of bone, blood, death, and the tears of a small child. Nothing you do can break me.” – Bullet

Bullet is a weapon, the most prized asset to the criminal organisation ‘The Collective’, belonging to a band of ‘sisters’, the elite assassination team, and her life has been conditioned to kill. The fact that this girl has literally been to hell and back and is still of sound mind and able to feel is just amazing. Without doubt, Bullet is the most kick-arse heroine I have ever come across and I am in awe of her.

“You were my target….But I never kill good men,…You were the beginning for me on this path to redemption.” – Bullet

She now lives for vengeance and the only emotion she lives with is responsibility for those who suffered alongside her under the hand of Joseph Bombardier the leader of The Collective and the definition of pure evil. Yet what this girl goes through, how she survives and what this plan of action puts her up against, the amazing thing is how she starts to truly feel.

“I don’t dream Mr. Beckett, I remember…” – Bullet

The path of the adult Bullet becoming who she was before her tragic life began is quite simply heart-breaking yet breath-taking also. Bullet believes she’s no one, she does not truly exist. She has nothing to offer anyone other than her life when it most counts.

Oh how I cried for Bullet Jenny!!

Jenny:  OMG I was sobbing so many times for this woman.  Her treatment at the hands of such a cruel and viscous man and corporation killed me.

“You wanted me to feel pain. I feel pain.” – Bullet

Some scenes were difficult to read but I was so engrossed, I didn’t want to miss a thing and I felt so much for this woman who was such a contradiction.

“Bodies are tools, easily controlled by strong minds..” Bullet

She was delicate yet strong, pained yet deadly, vulnerable yet cold.  She was absolutely kick arse and my heart ached for this beautiful woman who had certainly lived a devastatingly sad existence.

“Don’t do this to me.” – Bullet

Witnessing Bullet the assassin was heart stopping. Watching Bullet the woman, evolve was sensual, passionate and beautiful.  I loved her. She broke me and she awed me!

Gitte: Now, as for Rand Beckett, our hero; the hunter, well he was just gorgeous, lush actually. He’s a man hell bent on revenge for the death of his loved ones and is placed in the path of our Bullet. Their lives are interwoven but from opposite sides of the spectrum. Beckett is a good man, the leader of Trident which was set up to defeat and dismantle The Collective.  He inadvertently got a ‘free-pass’ and when his path crosses with Bullet’s their lives change in so many ways. Some amazingly beautiful and emotional, some violent and quite horrific.

‘This man would be the one who broke her.’ – Bullet

I loved Rand, he was completely bad arse yet he had a pure heart and a connection with Bullet that was beyond his control which showed his caring and loving side. This man had a way about him that had me swooning one minute and raging the next. He was a brilliant character!

‘How fucking dare she make him feel after seven years of nothing?’ – Rand

Do you agree Jenny?

Jenny:  Do I agree?  YES!!! Where do I start with Rand Beckett.  Wow, wow, wow! I loved this guy.  If you need someone to have your back you’d want this ex military man on your side. Fearless, passionate, easy on the eye, deadly, yet possessing a beautiful heart, this man has lived his fair share of pain and is hell bent on a revenge that is eating him up.  This guy sure had nine lives and had dodged a few bullets.

“I want you to suffer.” – Rand
“I have suffered my entire life Mr Beckett.”  – Bullet

The developing relationship between Rand and Bullet had me alternatively swooning and sitting in the freezer. These two had a pull to each other that was tangible.  I found Rand to be such a thrilling character, even if there were a couple of times I wanted to thwack him on the forehead.

‘Somehow, someway this woman eased that part of him that had hungered for so long.’ – Rand

Bullet To The Heart was one hair raising, spine tingling, heart stopping, adrenaline pumping journey and I swooned, I cried, my heart pumped, my stomach twisted , my heart ached and I put my life on hold until I finished and guess what?  I loved every single minute of it!! This author presented a story so vividly told that I was able to live every minute. I want more!!!!!!

“Tell me, Bullet, who the fuck taught you these things? Who fucking hurt you?” – Rand

Arrgghhh I need book two now! I tell you one thing G, Arrow to the Soul will be up there as one our most anticipated reads for 2014 that’s for sure.  Bring it on! Can’t wait!! The story continues…………

Gitte: I have to say that I loved everything about this story and I can’t wait to get the next book in this series! Without spoiling it, I suppose you could say there is no end as such and I’m going to hazard a guess that the ‘fight’ will continue till the end of the series. However, as far as Bullet and Rand is concerned I was left satisfied. What a ‘fan-bloody-tastic’ read this was!!

‘Women were universally the more vicious gender. Cross a woman and hell had no fury to compare to her rage….’ – Rand

About The No Mercy Series
(Each book is about a different character but should be read in order.)

Bullet, Arrow, Bone & Blade
Turn your back, but you may live to regret it.

Four women, weapons of a war they didn’t begin. A bond forged in hell, each would die to protect the others. Until they’re separated and must fight the forces that seek to destroy them. To find their way, they will give any piece of themselves to the battle. Raised on a mother’s milk of hate and revenge, it would take a love stronger than time to bring them back from the edge.
