“You must be an angel.”

“Did you dream of me?”

Imagine waking up and having no clue as to who you are, where you’ve been or where to go. Now imagine you’re all alone in a hospital bed being told everyone you’re connected to are dead. You’re a sole survivor of a murder massacre. Well this is our Lucie Lu; but not only does she have to suffer this knowledge, she’s also experiencing glimpses of the future. Premonitions if you will. However, those are not as terribly bad, as they feature a potential love interest in the form of specific scenes playing out with a sexy dark mysterious stranger. Intrigued? We certainly were!

‘For someone who had no past to have issue with, there was more than enough emotion chained to my purported future to sink me.’

Lucie’s receiving help from Vivi the hospital on-staff therapist, however through a whirlwind of circumstances Vivi ends up being a friend to Lucie and that’s when the story really gets started as connections emerge and mysteries unravel. We meet Nash and Drew and fell in love with this crazy arsed group. We had so many theories whilst reading and only one really came true, but we’re not going to reveal which one as that would be a total spoiler! There were a multitude of twists and turns, drama and high emotion. It was literally jam-packed but alleviated by laughs aplenty.

‘I felt my eyes go dead as I bored the threat into him. A cleansing relief flooded me as the numb and nameless reappeared to take care of business. I could breathe again.’

How long can memories stay buried before a reminder brings back the locked away, little by little? And what happens then? What if you don’t like what’s uncovered? Will what you have now be enough to overcome tragedy and violence? We fell in love with You Are Here and with Drew, Vivien and Nash. And well, Grey (L.U.S.H!!) and Lucie were fabulous characters. Their story is one of laughs and passion, emotion and thrilling suspense. What a great first story from S.M. Lumetta- this is no ordinary romance and we highly recommend it.

‘The spark between us was so strong it was a physical sensation. Whatever was happening was extraordinary and while I believed in it, that didn’t mean I understood it. It was hard enough believing he was here. ’

“How can you be real?” I asked, kissing her temple.

“I asked myself the same question about you four or five million times,” she mumbled, cozy in my arms. “You are, and I am, so get over it.”

“I don’t think I ever will.”

“Then just enjoy it,” she said, her voice lower. She was feeling the same. My fingers tickled the skin beneath the hem of her shirt. “Please.”

I looked at her face in the mirror and confirmed it. Her eyes were half-lidded and her chest was rising quicker. My hand drifted lower, disappearing below the waistband of her skirt.

The need for her crashed into me so hard, I forgot where we were. Maybe it was the crazy up and down of her highs followed by inevitable lows via my fuckups, but I didn’t care. Not right now.

I felt her fingers weave into my hair and fasten themselves to

my head. I traced her neckline with my tongue and then my lips, stopping to suck on the skin at the bend. Her other hand gripped mine, her nails digging into my knuckles and dragging them faster into her silky briefs. I reached her already-wet sex and slipped a finger inside her. Lucie tugged on my hair.

I added a second finger. Her voice cracked and bounced into a high-pitched cry. She writhed, creating friction and movement where I wasn’t giving it. I kissed my way up to her ear and planted my lips behind it once before sucking her earlobe in my mouth, hard.

Lucie panted, her hands tugging on my hair. I was painfully hard, my dick trying to carve its way through the confines of my jeans. Her whine climbed in volume, chasing her release. I felt a surge of pride, hunger. I wanted nothing more than to own everything about her, including her orgasms.

“Do you want to come on my fingers or with me inside you?” I growled into her ear as we locked eyes in the mirror.

She moaned, loud, and right then I realized I hadn’t even locked the door. Given the level of noise we were making, I doubted anyone would try to come in. Regardless, I wasn’t going to stop.

Her eyes pinched shut. She begged, “Oh, God, Grey. Inside me. Please!”

I pushed her forward over the sink and pulled her hips back. Her hands gripped the sides of the basin, the bends of her fingers white as her volume increased. I reached under her skirt and tore at her underwear. My fingers ripped through the fabric at the side, but I got them low enough.

My demand felt like gravel in my chest when I ordered her, “Open.”

“Who are you? You’re a total criminal aren’t you?”
“Have I stolen your heart yet?”

After a run of heartbreaking and emotional reads we were so in the mood for a bit of slap and tickle – a bit of fun  – so we read the synopsis for Felony Ever After and checked out the list of talented authors who contributed to this story, we guessed this would be the one that just might deliver on that! And we’re pleased to say it really did!

We were keen to see how this story would actually play out. After all, with such an array of fabulous authors with such specific voices working on one story, how would it flow? Would each voice be so different that it would take us out of the story?

“Sometimes white knights have tattoos, princess.”

We’ll be honest and say we did worry a little that maybe this wouldn’t work for us for that reason, however we’re thrilled to say this book did flow beautifully, with there being only a couple of chapters where we felt the authors injected their own voice a little too vigorously, and in doing so, changed the voices of Verity and Hudson which we found a bit off-putting. Luckily it was all soon back on track and we were caught up in the story once more.

“So what is it that makes you tick, Hudson?”
“Right now?” he licked his lips. “You.”

There were some bizarre and giggle worthy moments in this story. It was a crazy read as each author was given the task to follow on from the next and when the author before them threw a curve ball or box in this case, it was so much fun to see how the next author would pick it up and run with it.

‘Michaels@VirityPic03 The box is back. What’s in the damn boxes?’

Now, whoever created Hudson Fenn…THANK YOU because we bloody LOVED this tattooed hot boy who possessed a cheeky sweetness, an air of mystery and was as hot as all hell out of and between the sheets. Yup….he was something else!  And ummm who wouldn’t want to be hashtag pounded by Hudson?

‘He’s all mysterious and shit. He’s like Batman.’

Verity Michaels was a fab heroine who more than held her own and her workplace felt like a crazier day at The Office than a day at The Office! We loved her character. We also had this strange fascination too with her Boss, Mr Lay. What a character! Bizarre yet we couldn’t help but actually like him. He was a hot weirdo!

We have to give a shout out to Katherine Stevens, an author we haven’t heard of before but whose chapter in particular had us in fits of giggles. You can bet we’ll be 1clicking her upcoming book, Going Down, when it releases this Spring!

Felony Ever After was a hell on wheels taxi ride with lots of hot sex, some crazy funny tweets, a hero to swoon over, some mystery and a bit of ridiculousness. There was a bit of everything in this light-hearted, steamy funny romp that took us in some very whacky directions! We really enjoyed this crazy-arsed ride!

“If you tell me that room I can’t go into at your place is a Red Room of Pain, we’re going to need to stop to buy lube and some Fifty Shades wine.”
