Our Review

Even though my eyes were still puffy and my nose was still red after Slammed I leapt straight into this book because I wanted to spend more time with Will and Lake.

From reading the synopsis I thought this book wasn’t going to be as emotional as the first one and assumed it would have some angst over the person from Will’s past, but not contain the level feeling as the first book.

“If I were a carpenter, I would build you a window to my soul. But I would leave that window shut and locked, so that every time you tried to look through it all you would see is your own reflection. You would see that my soul is a reflection of you.”

Well, how wrong I was!!! OMG this book every bit as, if not even more emotional than the first one.

Writing this book from Will’s POV was pure genius. To get inside the soul of this beautiful man gave you a fresh take on the story and my heart just aches for how beautiful the characters of Will and Lake were. I defy anyone not to fall totally in love with these two. They really are something special.

So I’m off to scrounge up more tissues. This one really got to me!

“My heart pounds against my chest. Not because I’m nervous. Not even because I want her worse that I’ve ever wanted her before. It’s pounding against my chest because I realize I’ve never been so sure about the rest of my life than I am in this moment. This girl is the rest of my life.”

Synopsis

Hardships and heartache brought them together… now it will tear them apart.

Layken and Will have proved their love can get them through anything; until someone from Will’s past re-emerges, leaving Layken questioning the very foundation on which their relationship was built. Will is forced to face the ultimate challenge…how to prove his love for a girl who refuses to stop ‘carving pumpkins.’
