STOLEN: A LETTER TO MY CAPTOR by LUCY CHRISTOPHER

This book is so easy to spoil for readers wanting to read it, so I am not going to say anything about the story. Instead, I am going to tell you how I felt reading it and how I felt when I had finished it. First of all, though I have to say this book deserves more than 5 stars…I LOVED IT!!

I was hooked from the beginning, I stayed up all night reading, I took my time because L. Christopher paints an intricate and descriptive picture with her words! Yes at times this made the book slow going but it added the necessary visual to this story, it took you to THAT place and at times lulled you into a certain “emotion” only to suddenly draw you somewhere else.

“It happened like this.
I was stolen from an airport.
Taken from everything I knew,
everything I was used to.
Taken to sand and heat, dirt
and danger. And he expected
me to love him. This is my story.
A letter from nowhere.”

Whilst reading it I got goosebumps, the shakes, I was stunned, I felt angry, sad but hopeful…It consumed me and I was surprised at my feelings and my take on Ty and Gem!! (Oh and a camel made me cry, how often can you say that?)

After reading it, I felt lost, I cried, I was an emotional wreck, I felt irrational, I felt like I was missing something but at the same time happy and yeah still confused!! I can’t say that I was satisfied..but then maybe..???

‘Your hand was tight around mine as you grabbed me and you took me and you stole me.’

This review makes no sense, and if you are confused well ditto hahaha!

This book is what I call a Marmite Book, anyone British will know what I’m talking about here…oh and I LOVE Marmite ;0)
