SYNOPSIS

I absolutely loved this book. It had me from page one and I literally could not stop reading. It was such a beautiful, touching, inspiring and emotional story. So well written. The characters had such depth and their emotions and consequent actions were completely believable and heartfelt. I fell in complete love with both Evan and Matt.

Evan and Matt’s journey begins one night in a bar. Evan has recently become a widower after the love of his life passed away leaving him a single Dad of 4 kids. Matt and Evan instantly have a connection albeit one of emotional sorrow and loneliness. Their relationship starts as one of friendship that soon turns into a mutual physical attraction. Both are shocked by their feelings as neither has ever felt this for another man before. These feelings send Evan and Matt on one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride that sees both men falling for each other whilst trying to rationalize their feelings and its implication on their lives.

Evan made me want to cry. He lost his wife, the only woman he has ever loved. His past was one of heart-break, emotional abuse and now he feels lost and like he is loosing control. He has no idea how to continue his life and be a good Dad to his 4 kids. His past and his future colliding into horrible nightmares and doubts.

Matt has lost his way in life, despite never really having properly settled he was in a job he loved. Then a decision he made, which he believed was morally right, forced him out of his profession and he is living day to day not making a mark, not making a home-life for himself. He doesn’t believe in love, not ever having had it in the first place, he flits from one to another never settling.

Both Evan and Matt came across very real, genuine and authentic. This book touched my heart without a doubt!

Love & Loyalty (Faith, Love, & Devotion #2)

SYNOPSIS

I really enjoyed and liked the 2nd book in the Faith, Love, and Devotion series. This book is about Jim, a character who became friends with Matt in Faith & Fidelity. It had a very different feel to it compared to Faith and Fidelity which I put down to the fact that our two heroes know and accept who they are and what they want.

Jim is a police detective who is a bit of a loner and shuts himself off from other people. He has immersed himself in a murder case in which the guilty defendant is eventually let go. After the case Jim stays in contact with Ed the Father of the murdered girl. This is where Jim meets Griffin, when Griffin who is a screenwriter, comes to secure the rights to Ed’s story and Ed turns to Jim to help him in the meeting.

Griffin and Jim start a relationship which at first they are not sure is going anywhere. Their journey is beautiful and very emotional. My heart melted several times and I love these guys…they made me laugh too!!

Duty & Devotion (Faith, Love, & Devotion, #3)

SYNOPSIS

After their happily ever after in Faith & Fidelity, Matt and Evan move forward to a new chapter of their lives — inside the bedroom and out — with some surprises in store for both. Evan struggles with labels and feelings even as he wants to give in to his baser desires. Matt, now the ideal househusband of Queens, New York, has his own set of struggles — who is he now? What does he need and want?

A visit from his friend and one-night stand Jim Shea (of Love & Loyalty) throws everything into disarray as Evan’s jealousy and unease push Matt’s buttons — and not always in a good way.

I have to say this 3rd book in the series was amazing and had me hooked throughout. I loved it and thought the writing was FAB!!

The interaction between Evan and Matt reached every emotional level possible and the same for Jim and Griffin sprinkled with humour and drama too!! Perfect…

Evan went through so many changes and his inner turmoil is understandable yet so sad. Him and Matt are so different which I think is why they work. I loved Matt’s attitude of “this makes me happy, I’m going with it”. LOVE these guys!!

This series is definitely going to be one of the favorites this year!!
