JOHNNY BE GOOD & BABY BE MINE by PAIGE TOON :: DUAL BOOK REVIEW
24 February, 2013

Our Review
I read these two books in one sitting and absolutely loved every minute.
In Johnny Be Good we meet Meg Stiles. Megs is offered the dream of PA to Johnny Jefferson, the man of the moment……. uuber hot rockstar extraordinaire.
Megs leaves from her home in London to start a new life in LA, working for Johnny and putting up with all his crazy antics, all the while trying to convince herself she won’t fall for him. Oh good luck with that Megs! Of course she does and what follows is a fun, and at times touching story of the relationship between these two.
Don’t worry. This isn’t the…Johnny sees Megs and changes his ways in five minutes story. Johnny is set on self- destructive. He’s your stereotypical rock star…booze, drugs and women. They’re his addiction and Johnny has a hard time leaving any of them alone. There were many a times I uttered “oh no Johnny, you didn’t” when Johhny royally screwed up and many a time my heart went out to Megs.
Megs is lonely. She left her life and her friends behind and working for Johnny and having the feelings she does just makes her sadder and lonelier than ever. Her one confidant is Johnny’s closest friend, Christian, who he has known since his childhood days in London.
Christian is in town to write an autobiography on Johnny and Megs and Christan form a friendship which leaves her conflicted in her feelings between Johnny and Christian.
To say Johnny gives you whiplash is an understatement. One minute he is sweet, beautiful Johnny then the next minute he’s drunken, drug laden, womanising Johnny and you want to slap him.
I sooo wanted to dislike Johnny because of what he puts Megs through but I couldn’t. I loved Johnny Jefferson…he’s your quinteissetnial hot bad boy rock star and I loved him…..with all his flaws and shortcomings I still loved him.
I really did like Megs. I loved the humor she had and the way she handled situations though I did want her to stand up to Johnny more. I wanted her to stop letting him treat her the way he did and tell him how she felt.
I absolutely enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. It does end on a cliffhanger but at least you have book two Baby Be Mine to dive straight into.
I have to say I didn’t enjoy BBM as much as JBG but I still did enjoy it. It was a little slow to begin with but then it picked up and I found myself wanting to get through to see how it ended.
I can’t say too much because I don’t want to give anything away from JBG because this book picks up where that one left off.
Let’s just say, there are changes afoot in Johnny’s life – one particularly HUGE change and seeing Johnny in this book was a revelation. I adored him. If he got into my heart in JBG then he positively burrowed deep into it in this book. Oh don’t get me wrong…..he will still frustrate the hell out of you and you WILL want to slap him upside the head a time or two to get him to wake up to himself, but the tender moments will melt your heart.
This was a perfect end to these books. Loved the epilogue and it rounded things off nicely for me. All in all I really enjoyed these two books.
Synopsis

If your boss was the hottest rock star on the planet, would you mix business with pleasure?
I’m Meg Stiles. This is my leaving party. And that song we’re making a mockery of? That’s written by one of the biggest rock stars in the world. And I’m moving in with him tomorrow.
Seriously! I am not even joking. Well, maybe I’m misleading you a little bit. You see, I haven’t actually met him yet…
No, I’m not a stalker. I’m his new PA. His Personal Assistant. And I am off to La-La Land. Los Angeles. The City of Angels—whatever you want to call it—and I can’t bloody believe it!
Celebrity PA to wild boy of rock Johnny Jefferson, Meg’s glam new life in sun-drenched LA is a whirlwind of showbiz parties and backstage passes. Cool, calm Christian, in town to write his famous friend’s biography, helps keep Meg’s feet firmly on the ground. But with Johnny’s piercing green eyes and a body Brad Pitt would kill for, how long will it be before she’s swept right off them again?
Baby Be Mine Synopsis
**Warning – Synopsis contains spoilers for book one**
‘He’s not mine, is he?’ That’s the question I fear the most. You see, I have a secret. My son is not fathered by my boyfriend, but by one of the most famous people that ever lived. And he doesn’t even know it.

I’ve read the first book above but not the second. Will have to give it a try based on your review 🙂 Have you read her book ‘Lucy in the Sky’? I really loved that one!
