His Risk to Take (In the Line of Duty #2 – Novella) by Tessa Bailey

Jenny:  Well Gitte, after meeting and loving Derek in Protecting What’s His we were certainly ready to check out Troy in His Risk to Take weren’t we? And….yummm…another naughty talking cop! Tessa Bailey is spoiling us and I love her writing! Her books have become my guilty pleasure and I think I may even be addicted!

This may have been a short story but it sure packed a lot in. You got to know about the characters of Troy and Ruby. What made them tick and their shortcomings and how these two opposites were so drawn to each other.  It most definitely kept me turning the pages and certainly entertained me.  What about you Gitte?

Gitte: Seriously Jenny, I love this Author so much. She sure knows how to pack a punch with her fabulous writing. Yeah sure, this is a short story but it’s so well written and bloody sexy and it manages to have everything from a good story to great characters. Characters that despite the length of it you connect with and keep you riveted. I didn’t think any of Tessa Bailey’s heroes could beat Derek…but hello Troy. New book boyfriend to add to the mix for sure. This Author is now on the automatic one-click list!

Jenny:  Yep, just adding him to the list!! Ruby was very much her own woman. A hustler used to doing things her way, on her terms and has her future all mapped out. A boyfriend doesn’t even enter into the equation.

Troy is a man with domineering ways in the bedroom, he’s hot, extremely alpha and it seems his demanding ways have been an issue with past girlfriends who didn’t appreciate his bossiness or his dirty mouth. All I can say is, they don’t know what they were missing because Troy was hawt!

“Did the thought of me get you all wet baby?” – Troy

Troy is new in the city and meets Ruby when she is hustling a guy in a game of pool. Troy steps in as her white knight and when these two meet, its instant fireworks. They ignite something in one another and their first “non sex” was amazing – in fact that you salivating for what would come when these two actually got it on andddd they didn’t disappoint!

“I’ve got to have you now, baby. Let me have you or I’m going to lose my mind.” – Troy

This story had me hooked from the start. I loved it. Great characters, sexy as all hell, with the right amount angst and drama and it’s a story I thoroughly enjoyed! Can’t wait for more in this series! Yep…I think I’m officially addicted.

Gitte: Ruby is definitely a woman on a mission! Her mission is to leave behind her past and old life in order to create her vision and fulfil her dream. She hustles, but then that is all she knows to do in order to pay for her studies and to live independently of her past, her dad and ultimately the wrong path and crowd.

Enter Troy….trust a man to get involved and throw everything up in the air. A hot, sexy domineering man who is the definition of alpha to boot.

“God, but that man was drop-dead, crazy as hell sexy..” – Ruby

Troy does not mince his words…and his words are naughty, actually they are dirty.

“You might get away with running that smart mouth to other people. But you won’t get away with it here. If you continue to challenge me with every word out of your mouth, I will f*ck you repeatedly until you learn to play nice.” – Troy

He is one bossy cop with a cocky attitude that knows exactly what he wants and he will move mountains or people to get it. Umm I would not say no!

Ruby surprises Troy with her confidence and forwardness. This girl knows what she wants, make no mistake. Actually they are a perfect match, both have their own demons and know what they want and need!

“So blue eyes. Why don’t you stop staring and buy me a drink? – Ruby

In ‘His Risk to Take’ there is passion, intrigue, drama and thrills, a perfect indulgence read that no doubt will be re-read in between those dark hard hitters. Bring on the next ‘Line of Duty’ instalment Tessa Bailey, I for one cannot wait!
