Gitte: “Angel, a crowd of millions couldn’t hide you from me. I found you once. I’ll always find you.” We waited a long time….then he came. The luscious Gideon and he did not disappoint. I was reminded why I fell in love and lust with him the minute I met him in ‘Bared to You’ back in April last year. He’s always been the enigma, the guarded, controlling and possessive alpha male who’s passionate yet ‘secrecy personified’.
“Honestly, Gideon Cross had been designed to fuck a woman right out of her mind.”
In Entwined we got to see a very different side to him as we learnt more of his past and in my opinion this book became Gideon’s story, we begin to learn and understand why he‘s the man he is though I’m guessing there is still more to come. I have to say one scene nearly killed me and I had tears reading it. He showed his vulnerability to Eva who became the strong and secure one and opened up…. I melted! He still loves with an intensity that is beyond words and wow does Ace love his Angel!!
“I ache for you….Crave you constantly. Snap your fingers and I’m hard…When I come I come for you. Because of you and your mouth, hands and insatiable little (&*%@). And it’ll be that way for you in reverse. My tongue, my fingers, my (*&%) inside you. Just you and me, Eva. Intimate and raw.”
This couple has always been one of my favourites. I love Gideon and Eva, who they are individually and who they are together.
“You were with me. The whole time. There wasn’t a second that passed when you weren’t on my mind. You own me, Eva. Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, I belong to you.”
Their journey is complicated, it’s full of obstacles that are thrown at them at every turn and they are their own worst enemies a lot of the time.
“You’ll never lose me, angel…Wherever you go, however far, I’ll be right here with you.”
However, one thing they both completely agree on is that they are each other’s soul mates. One cannot function without the other. Their love is extreme bordering on obsession, their connection and attraction intense and passionate.
“I can’t keep my hands off you. That should be enough to tell you I don’t need more.”
So yes, I was unbelievable excited to have them back for another installment. What about you Jenny?
Jenny: Gitte! I was beyond excited when I saw “Entwined With You “had finally been delivered to Ken! I couldn’t wait to devour it and yes, being back with Gideon and Eva was like catching up with old, albeit intense, friends who I had missed desperately. . These two damaged souls are still working to become a whole and theirs is definitely not a straightforward route. They are soul mates, you really feel that there will NEVER be anyone for either of them except each other and yes, their love and passion for one another really does border on an obsession. Theirs is an addiction!

The trademark passion and intensity of this couple is still there. The sex is as hot as Hades (that CLUB SCENE!!! I’m still hot and bothered thinking about that now…wow!) and we learn a little more about the very guarded Gideon and what makes this man tick.
“Gideon was an untamed animal behind closed doors, a lover who bared me to the soul every time he made love to me.”
Witnessing the vulnerable side of Gideon completely did me in. I know exactly the scene you’re referring to Gitte and yes, I had tears as well. To see this strong, determined, alpha possessive man – and he is SO unbelievably MALE – suffer his demon’s was exactly why I love the story that is Gideon and Eva. They read each other so well in those times of vulnerability and seem to sense exactly what each needs.
“I’m damned glad you like what you see, because God knows I fucking love looking at you.”
These two have always communicated so well with sex. They are insatiable for each other but they are also communicating on an emotional level. Learning to express and trust in one another, to listen and love, though I have to say, at times, the sex did overtake the emotion for me and for that reason I didn’t feel the depth of emotion between the two that I had experienced in the previous books.
“I don’t want all the time we spend together to be about what’s wrong and fucked up in our lives!”
But…they are finally communicating and that’s a good thing.
Gitte: What did I love other than Angel & Ace? Well, Eva’s Dad completely broke my heart. The scenes with him and Eva when he makes the discovery surrounding Nathan, I was in bits…crying my eyes out. I loved the relationship again between Eva and Cary…the friendship, the love and the banter. Sylvia Day is a brilliant Author. Her writing is sensual and emotional, dramatic and intriguing and she hooks me every-time.
So, what was I not too enamoured with in this third instalment? Well, I‘ve loved Cary since book #1. I’ve been and am a huge advocator of him getting his own book. I love him! In this one though; I found his attitude to his ‘relationships’ bizarrely out of character bordering on disrespectful. He’s such a gorgeous and loving man, an amazing friend to Eva, he’s fair and just. I’m not sure why he’s suddenly changed in such a way that this time he came across in a really bad light. His judgement and decisions were in my opinion out of character. I hope he reverts back to what made him so endearingly special in the next story because I was really disappointed with his attitude and disregard of his attitude to his ‘relationships’.
My other issue was the way the story started to drag in the middle with the addition of unnecessary “plot bumpers” (I won’t mention what they were as it will give spoilers to the story), not sure why they were deemed necessary. The journey of Angel & Ace can continue on its own as there is still so much to learn about Gideon and his past and no matter what, I would have and definitely will pick up every book being released in this series…I mean how could I not?? This is Gideon and Eva we’re talking about here and of course the gorgeous and brilliant Sylvia Day!
Now, I read Entwined before the controversy began, so I’d already rated and compiled my thoughts and emotions on this story. My opinions remain my own and will never be influenced or swayed by anyone other than myself. I don’t succumb to Reader or Author pressure and I will never subscribe to it.
On that note, I really enjoyed Entwined, yes it had its issues and it was not my favourite in this series so far, but that is purely based on content not the storm brewing in the proverbial tea-cup.

Jenny: I agree with everything you’ve said above Gitte and have only to add that the main issue for me was Brett. Or more precisely what Eva experiences when she is around Brett. Now, to Eva Gideon Cross is this all-consuming man who she is deeply in love with, has this insatiability for 24/7 , can’t live without and who fulfills ALL her sexual needs and wants.

Yet..she practically gets wet panties whenever she’s within 100 feet of Brett. Not only that but she feels the need to use Cary as a cockblocker and have meetings with him in public places because of the effect he has on her.
The whole Brett thing only served to lessen, for me, the level of commitment she feels for Gideon. Yes, she’s human and Brett’s hot, but really? She needs Cary to ensure things don’t get out of hand and give Brett the wrong idea, whereas I get the impression it’s Eva who needs to be kept in check.
I started to witness the beginning of the controversy unfold over this book but like you Gitte, I’m never swayed by other’s opinions and moved on to EWY to form my own opinion and my opinion is this. Despite the issues I had, I really did enjoy Entwined With You. No, it wasn’t my favourite of the series, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. As you said Gitte, being back with Gideon and Eva was a place I looked forward to being and enjoyed.
Now, onto the dreaded subject of further books. Do I wish this had been a trilogy? Well, yes I do. It kills me to think of these two suffering through more books. Will I read the next 2 books? Well, hell yeah!! As I said before I’m invested in the journey of Gideon and Eva and I have FOMO. I can’t miss out and I won’t miss out. Will I love those next books? Well, I don’t have a crystal ball so I can’t say. What I can say is this. I have to trust Sylvia Day. I have to trust she loves her characters enough to do them justice. I can only guess that what Sylvia Day feels for Gideon and Eva has to be tenfold of my feelings for them and with that in mind, I trust Sylvia knows where she is going with this series and that she won’t let her readers or Gideon and Eva down.
I am a huge Sylvia Day fan. Seven Years to Sin is one of my favourite reads…EVER! And I refuse to believe an author who can produce something as wonderful as that book and Crossfire books would ever further this series just for money. I can’t believe she would ever sell her characters out. I just can’t allow myself to believe that. Oh I know some of you out there are rolling your eyes at me and saying I’m naïve, but as a passionate reader I have to believe that an author is so deeply in love with her characters that whilst the $$ are enticing, ultimately it’s the telling of the story the characters want them to tell that is the driving force behind allowing their readers to spend more time with them.
I really enjoyed Entwined With You and I am trusting Sylvia to bring us closure we all want for Gideon and Eva. I’m trusting her to deliver them the happiness and the healing they so rightly deserve and yes, I will be there every step of the way.

I love these characters with all my heart and as much as I would have liked it to end with ETW, I am also happy I’m going to be afforded the chance to spend a little more time with Gideon and Eva.
Oh and fyi Sylvia Day…if you feel like writing one of your next books as an MM with Cary and Trey…well, you’ll get no arguments from us!!!

I enjoyed EWY. I agree that it may not be my favorite of the series thus far, but I still came out liking the book. There were some really great moments between Gideon and Eva. I have been surprised that I have read so many negative reviews online. I hope that it does not deter readers because you can not rely on other readers to determine whether you like a book or not. I think some of the negative reaction has been due to 1) the change of the release date (which Sylvia has explained time and time again) and 2) that the series will have 2 more books (she is being accused of milking Gideon & Eva for more cash, an accusation which she also explained on her FB page). So please, for any one who is hesitating, please determine how you feel after reading EWY.

I have really, really been looking forward to reading this book but now I am trying to hold off on buying it especially since it is getting very mixed reviews. I am scared that it has been stretched to fit into extra books and won’t be as good as the first two and I can’t see myself spending that much $ yet. But I am sure I will break down and do so soon.
