SEIZE ME (Breakneck #1) by CRYSTAL SPEARS

SYNOPSIS
Winter Belov was the sweet innocent one in her crime family, the dutiful daughter that never disappointed her father. One day, her father does the unspeakable. When he turns his back, Winter flees across the country, taking her life savings with her, determined never to enter that sort of lifestyle again.
No longer innocent, she now lives in Nevada. Lana is her best friend and the only family Winter has. Together, they are two of the best exotic dancers in the county. While working a shift, Pyro, Lana’s long time crush, propositions Winter. He begs her to do a private gig at Breakneck. She accepts, with the condition that Lana dances with her.
When Winter’s eyes lock with Braxxon Breaker’s, the President of Breakneck, she realizes she is no longer free; she has been seized. He is everything she is running from but at the same time, everything she wants. Braxxon will not take no for an answer, and purposely disrupts Winter’s life.
Rivals of Braxxon’s club are vicious and they do something that will have him out for blood. Winter’s and Braxxon’s relationship is anything but a normal one. If they want to be together, crimes must be committed, friendships will be broken and people are going to die.
What happens when all that chaos mixes with Winter’s father locating her? It will be a bloodshed when Winter and Braxxon seek revenge and take no prisoners.

So, you know that feeling when you’re either in a book funk or you have so many books on your ‘to be read’ list that you just don’t know what to pick up? You need something that will just take you on one hell of a mad, over the top, sexy and crazy bad arse ride? Well, I think this one easily fits the bill. It’s not pretty, clean or sugar sweet. It’s gritty, ugly, hard, filthy, passionate and quite horrific at times. But it’s good! Will this book change your life, no. Is it flawless, no! Is it entertaining, absolutely yes!
I enjoyed this one and read it in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. I fell crazily in love with our hero Braxxon AND I met one of the coolest and seriously bad arse heroines in a long time – Winter. If you asked me what it was that I enjoyed so much about Seize Me, I doubt I could tell you specifics….I just did, their story just worked for me despite my eye-rolling and chuckles at times. It’s not an overly long read but it packs so much into its pages that I felt like I’d run a marathon by the time I could take an easy breath. Realistic? Perhaps not but this is fiction. Sometimes we just need a little crazy that’ll make us swoon right?
So, I need to warn you. There are some pretty harrowing scenes in this book featuring rape and violence as well as drug use. This is no level-headed pretty package wrapped in glittery paper with a big pink bow on it. But I loved un-wrapping it all the same. The fact that we got both Winter and Braxxon’s pov’s really played a big part in why this story worked so well. I connected with both characters and sympathised with them despite their flaws. Their hearts were good.
“I know that I’ll never be the same ever again. Braxxon has seized me, and something tells me he isn’t letting me go.”
Seize me is set in the world of the MC and Russian Mafia and when territories get crossed things get UGLY! And when they get ugly they get downright nasty and violent. Winter has escaped her Dad’s clutches after he killed the love of her life in front of her. She runs, wanting nothing to do with that world anymore. Winter chooses to set herself up in anonymity as an exotic dancer where she meets Lana, who becomes her best friend. The girls have a great show and are asked to perform for the President of Breakneck MC by his VP – Pyro. Seeing as Lana ‘wants’ Pyro, Winter reluctantly accepts, and so begins the ‘hell on wheels’ journey of Winter and Braxxon.
“Name’s Braxxon baby and I wanna touch an Angel.”
“I haven’t even seen him yet, but I want to spread my legs and beg his tongue to drip nasty words all over my core.”
Winter was a really strong heroine. She’s still grieving and when life blows up in her face again, this girl does not go gently into the night; rather, she pulls a gun on it. I think the reason I enjoyed this story so much is purely down to Winter. She literally kicked arse!
“Winter is the only woman who has ever stolen my breath.”
Now as for the MC Prez, Braxxon, this guy is just lush. He’s got a right dirty mouth on him, his behaviour leaves much to be desired, but, I just couldn’t help but love this guy. He’s a contradiction that you shouldn’t fall for but you do.
“My baby is speechless cause I just want to cuddle.”
There is so much drama packed into such a short amount of time it gave me whiplash and I’d say Seize Me had just about every scenario that would invoke any kind emotion from a reader. There were some great characters in Seize Me and they all played a part. I personally can’t wait for Shadow’s story if he gets one! At times I couldn’t believe what I was reading but at no point did I want to put this story down. I do however wish it had been longer to flesh out the characters more, not been so rushed and generally tidied up on the whole. But despite this I thoroughly enjoyed Seize Me.
“Let’s agree to just love, spoil and fuck one another equally, yeah?”
“She’ll always be my Angel, no matter what fucking happens…”
So yeah, I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series, which I’m going to hazard a guess at, will be a marmite series. You’ll either love it or not….
