ADAM, ENOUGH SAID (This Can’t Be Happening #3) by LYNDA LEEANNE

Gitte: So how much were we dying for Adam’s book Jenny? We’ve loved him since Lexi Baby and could not wait for his turn right! Our hot cop with the filthy mouth and that protective and cocky presence made us swoon right?

Jenny:  Oh he certainly did G.  I’ve had a HUGE crush on Adam all through this series and couldn’t wait to get stuck into his story and what a presence this man is! Come on….a filthy mouth, alpha hot cop….well, what can we say? hehe

Gitte: So, we get to learn a lot more about Adam and I have to say I loved his relationship with his Mum. My heart may have melted a few times. What is it about men who love their Mums? Adam is so cocky and determined. He’s rude, crude and opinionated but you can’t help but fall for him.

“This is me. I’m an asshole. I’m a jerk. I say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I always have and always will…but, freckles, you’re the only woman that will get me….” – Adam

He’s a bumbling mess at time in his actions and what he says, but his heart is good.

“I know you don’t need or want my help…BUT I FUCKIN’ WANT YOU! Just you!” – Adam

As for Mia, well can you spell F-E-I-S-T-Y? Wow…..she really does make her presence felt and you want to high five her on several occasions. At the same time though I wanted to hit her over the head with a reality check too.

Through switching between past and present we learn about Adam and Mia, their marriage and the crux of their problems and wow did they have problems. So many errors of judgements based on a single misunderstanding which was quite sad. It drove me crazy and I screamed at my kindle several times.

“I’d blamed her for leaving me, but I knew all along that it was because I’d pushed her too far.”

Both are stubborn, SO stubborn and extremely loud about it, yet both are trying to protect a broken heart that still loves.  It really was quite sad and I felt for them both. But….how many times can you be frustrated by the sheer lack of talking between couples before it becomes old? It did grate on me at times as it went to the extreme and so much heart ache could have been avoided. But hey, that’s part of fiction right.

“You belong to me, Mia. The marriage certificate I have locked away in my safe says you do…”

I thought it was real sad that two people who clearly love the bones of each other spent so much time apart. And how telling was it by the fact that neither through all the years forced the divorce!

Did you feel the same Jenny?

Jenny:  Hmmm Mia tested me that’s for sure! Yes, part of me admired her stubbornness and feistiness but there was a big part of me that really did want to give her a bit of a slap every now and then.  I wanted them both to get a grip and realise the miscommunication going on.  It really was a case of he said/she said and I wanted to lock them both in a room and yell “LISTEN”.  But…that angst is what keeps us turning the pages and seeing just how these two were going to work through this.

It certainly kept me on my toes, entertained and I alternated between shouting, swooning, giggling and fanning! Adam? Well, he is divine. Enough said!

 Gitte: Adam, Enough Said is a real entertaining read. It’ll make you peeved off sure, but it will also make you swoon, laugh and quite emotional at times. I really enjoyed the drama and loved the last few chapters, I just had a few niggles with the fluidity of the past/present and the backwards and forwards fighting between Mia and Adam.

“I won’t sleep without you….Never again Mia. Be pissed at me, be disappointed in me, be sad, but do all that stuff while you’re in my arms. I need to feel what you’re going through. You hurt, I hurt.” – Adam
