J&G: 5 Star Series perfection!

“Apparently I smile when I see you.”

Gitte: I don’t even know what to say but wow. This series is just what my tired heart needed. This is what reading is all about. A couple finding their way; overcoming real obstacles. Finding their place, finding love without unnecessary angst or drama for effect. This is pure emotion and romance. This is real.

“It’s right there between us and it’s driving me mad. I can’t concentrate, all I can think about is what the fuck kissing you would feel like, or taste like.”

I loved absolutely everything about this series, EVERYTHING. It had such purity of love, brilliant humour and above all it had a fantastic cast of characters who all played their part. I loved and connected with them all!

“It’s a Gen-Y thing.” “It’s a Cooper Jones thing.” “It’s a pain in the ass thing.”

The writing is brilliant, it was honest, flawless and no-nonsense. It was truly beautiful. N.R Walker manages to draw every emotion out of the reader in such few words. These books may not be the longest however, what she manages to achieve is astounding! Every word mattered and hit me in the heart. This series had me laughing, crying and wanting to have these people in my life. I felt like I experienced something pretty damn special and though I was sad to let this series go; let Tom and Cooper go, I know they’ll always be with me.

“I like the differences between us. You’ve opened my eyes to a lot of things I thought I missed.”

Our main men Cooper and Tom; what can I say other than if these two blokes don’t steal a massive piece of your heart then I’ll boycott chocolate for the rest of the year. That’s how sure I am that any fans of the m/m genre will fall in complete love with Thomas Elkin and Cooper Jones. These men are so fan-bloody-tastic; their romance so incredibly real, their struggles and how they affect and complement each other so believable so touching, so humorous and so bloody lovely I just couldn’t put their journey down. They felt part of my life and I theirs. I completely believed in Tom & Cooper’s romance. I believed in them.

“I have a black belt in sarcasm, and my wit is like lightning.”

We went on a reading marathon with Tom and Cooper didn’t we, Jenny? We just couldn’t let them go without being there right till the end!!

Jenny: I’m overawed. Like you G, I loved everything about this story. What an enriching and remarkable series this was, and you’re so right, THIS was exactly what our tired reading hearts needed. Pure bona fide romance between a couple who completely and utterly stole my heart! I was astonished at the beauty and flawlessness of the writing, every word so honest and real and every emotion I felt brought Cooper and Tom’s story to life vividly.

“Unconditional love is exactly that. We don’t get to choose.”

After inhaling the first book, there wasn’t a modicum of doubt that we HAD to keep going and spend more time with these very special characters. This series is definitely one of the highlights of my reading year and Cooper and Thomas left me breathless. I adored them both.

‘And even though he was half my age, he was twice as brave as me.’

The author made me feel as if I knew all these characters on a personal level. Their story of love, prejudice, passion and acceptance was mesmerizingly told and I can’t even begin to tell you how refreshing it was to pick up a story and feel the honesty and emotion bleed through the pages without being inundated with overbearing angst and unnecessary drama. The strength, beauty and honesty of this story lies in its simplicity. This author brought a work of fiction to life and I can honestly say I “lived” this story.

The balance between, heat, passion, emotion and humour was spot on and the banter, priceless.

“Cooper laugh. Tom. Make funny”

The emotion was real. The flow of the story so natural. The characters – well, there are no words for how much I loved and connected with all the characters in this book. From Cooper, Tom, their families, their friends and their workmates. All had a place, and each gifted this story with richness.

“You drive me crazy, you do my head in some days, and you challenge everything I say, but you’ve breathed life into me.”

Gitte, there’s no doubt that I will not forget Tom and Cooper in a hurry. Two men whose love and story have forever cemented a place in my heart. This, right here, is how you tell a story of love, strength and belonging. I laughed, cried and my heart is overflowing. I think I just fell in love in a book!

G&J: There isn’t a lot more we can say that we haven’t already said. Tom and Cooper took a journey that touched every nerve and spoke to our hearts. Needless to say, this was a series with so much beauty delivering a message for us all to take away. Love has no boundaries. Love doesn’t discriminate. Love isn’t ageist. Love isn’t sexist. Love is love and this story was a beautiful adaptation of just how beautiful love can be and how acceptance is the greatest gift we can give someone.

Wow! We’re still in book heaven! If you’re looking for a well told story, engaging and heart warming characters, as real as fiction can get, then the Thomas Elkin series is an absolute recommend!
