Jenny: One word…. A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!!! I can’t begin to express how much I LOVED this book. I think I read it with a big dopey grin on my face, I constantly sighed and I know I let out a few audible naaaws pretty much all the way through it and even now, I’m welling up thinking how much I loved it and how beautiful it was.

“Thank you”
“Thank you for what?”
“Being you, loving me back….I don’t know.”

MJ O’Shea’s writing could be as funny as it was sweet and sentimental and her words moved me. The theme of love and friendship she wove through Catch My Breath took my breath away. The writing was beautiful and rich and this author certainly brought her characters, their triumphs and their struggles to light in a truly memorable way. It felt sincere and I was completely swept away. This book had it all and it was superb!!!

‘Touching Elliot was necessary, like water and air and food.’

Oh Gitte, this book was like being cocooned in a warm blanket, it was like being enveloped in a big hug by a book. Catch My Breath warmed my heart. This authors words and characters held me spellbound from start to finish. I still feel all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it, do you?

Gitte: Seriously Jenny, I loved every second I spent with Elli-bean and Danny. I was surprised at the intensity of my feelings as I read their story, I was overcome and these boys are pretty bloody special. Who would have thought this story would come to mean so much to me? Certainly not me!

‘Whatever it was he had with Elliot was big and scary and so intensely beautiful it almost hurt.’

Honestly, I read it and as soon as I’d turned the last page I wanted to re-read it all over again. The writing was fabulous, the story-line was one we see play out in the gossip magazines; it felt incredibly real and so very poignant with its theme of hypocrisy and spin to line greedy pockets at the expense of innocents and true love.

‘At that moment, Elliot was pretty sure he knew what love felt like. And it sucked.’

Catch My Breath completely stole my breath as well as my heart and Elliot and Danny have mine forever! I read on; feeling like a lioness protecting her youngsters as I laughed, sighed and cried. Welling up whilst my heart either broke or burst with pride.

Jenny:  I’m with you Gitte! This story meant the world to me and the depth of my feelings towards it took me by surprise as well!  The innocence and beauty of new love and new discoveries between Danny and Elliot captivated me. The author allowed Danny and Elliot’s love to develop naturally. It never felt hurried and as such I could feel and breathe every moment. I truly did FEEL this story! I felt every single word and and every single emotion!

“Most people probably would say it’s infatuation at our age, but I really fucking love you. I know it’s real.”

I feel as though I’ve just watched all the Static boys grow from wonderful young boys to inspiring, supportive and loyal young men. Their acceptance, their strength and their love for one another shone through making this story one of my reading highlights this year. I can’t stop thinking about this book Gitte…it’s consuming me and I can’t stop Googling Harry and Louis from One Direction lol.

Gitte: Yeah, I have to say the band as a whole went through so much and the camaraderie, love and protection was beautiful and funny at the same time. What a journey they all went through!

‘His life was changing. And these guys, they would become a part of it…They were his new family.’

I felt like I was a part of their story. Of their experience from day one of auditions, to the sudden fame and the positive and negative that comes with that. We see it all the time, we know this stuff happens, yet this Author showed us another side and completely captured a coming of age story playing out in the public eye beautifully and so emotionally!

“It hurts. I can’t stand it anymore.”
“It hurts me too. Every day.”

Catch my Breath is a story of friendship, love, self-discovery, the pitfalls of fame and perceived image. It will have you smiling till your cheeks hurt, well up at the unfairness of it all as well as make you heart grow tenfold wanting to hug the shit out Elliot and Danny. Instead, I closed my eyes and held my kindle real tight to my chest. Saying I loved this story is an understatement and I cannot recommend it highly enough! Oh and I defy anyone not to go google Harry and Louis after reading this book….we did, and we still are!! Team Delly FOREVER!!!!
