SYNOPSIS

That is until a chance encounter leads to the hottest sex of their lives, along with the possibility of something great. Unfortunately, Anna wants it to remain a hook up. Now it’s up to Drew to tempt her with more: more sex, more satisfaction, more time with him. Until she’s truly hooked. It’s a good thing Drew knows all about winning.

Jenny: When I opened this book and saw a White Stripes song quoted I had a good feeling. It had to be a sign I was going to love this book and the sign was right because there was much I loved about The Hook Up. The writing was witty and clever, the characters endearingly warm and relatable and not only was this book lot of fun, extremely hot and passionate; it also had some tender, moving moments. .

‘Anna Jones has wrecked me. Utterly.’

I felt the connection and passion between Anna and Drew from the outset and that BIG drawcard Drew ‘Battle’ Baylor sold me! I. AM. IN. LOVE with that man!

“It’s you, baby. Your light. Your joy. Your soul. You bring that to everything you touch.”

No doubt about it, if this guy doesn’t get you swooning then you’re missing a swooning gene don’t you think Gitte?

Gitte: Absolutely, Jenny LOVED Drew, the cover of this book DOES NOT do this story nor Drew any justice, just saying! I’m glad I could look past my cover snobbery as I would’ve missed out on a fab-drew-lush story with a sassy and clued up heroine in Anna.

The writing was great, the passion and determination full on and the story was so much more than what it seemed. Even the emotion sure was plentiful! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

“I think you’re beautiful.”

“Beauty fades.”

“Not when it comes from inside.”

Anna and Drew had a complex but intense attraction to each other. Their romance was a journey that was both passionate and self-realising. Both had a multitude of emotional issues stemming from an occurrence in their past, one tragic; one leaving a horrible insecurity behind.

“You ever wonder if who you are is the person you’re supposed to be?”

Both go through huge changes that could alter their lives but not necessarily in a bad way. I wasn’t sure at one stage where their story was going but I ended up loving where it went! A definite recommend from me!

Jenny: Completely agree about the cover G. Peeling away the layers from Anna and Drew was a revelation. From the outside it appeared as though Drew had it all. Star Quarterback, good looks, charm, brains and an all-round nice guy but there was so much more to this man and I adored everything about him. It’s no wonder men want to be him and women want to bed him. Who can blame them! Being privy to Drew’s feelings through his POV had me s.w.o.o.n.i.n.g! This adorably sexy, dirty talking man was it for me!

‘I’m not going to say it was love at first sight. No, it was more like oh, hell-yes-please, I’ll have that. With a helping of right-the-fuck-now on the side.’

Anna was such a conflicting character. She would fiercely believe in herself one minute and as much as Drew could inflame Anna and make her feel good about herself, he also unwittingly made her insecurities resurface. Breaking down those walls Anna had built up wasn’t going to be easy.

‘In a room filled with boys, Drew is a man here. Bigger, stronger, and just more. In an odd way, he doesn’t belong here either.’

A definite recommend from me too!
