SYNOPSIS

ETERNAL OBSESSION
As a boy, Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe, a mischievous Sorceri girl who made him question everything about his Vrekener clan. But when the two got caught in the middle of their families’ war, tragedy struck, leaving Thronos and Lanthe bitter enemies. Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body—and left an even deeper impression on his soul.

ENDLESS YEARNING
Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. But she’s never forgotten Thronos, the magnificent silver-eyed boy who protected her until she was ripped from the shelter of his arms. One harrowing night changed everything between them. Now he’s a notorious warlord with a blood vendetta against Lanthe, hunting her relentlessly.

CAN THE HEAT OF DESIRE BURN BRIGHTER THAN VENGEANCE?
With their families locked in conflict and battles raging all around them, will Thronos and Lanthe succumb to the brutal chaos that threatens everything they cherish? Or will the fragile bond they formed so long ago spark a passion strong enough to withstand even the darkest doubts?

Dark Skye

What can I say about Dark Skye other than it’s another enjoyable instalment in a long paranormal series which remains one of my favourites. Sure, not every book in this series is brilliant, but it’s without fail one of the most consistently entertaining, sexy, intriguing and addicting. This is book 15 and I will keep reading and loving and HIGHLY recommend it for all you paranormal readers out there.

I will admit to being slightly confused when I started reading Dark Skye. It’s been a while since I read the last book and the world of the Immortals After Dark is so interwoven, detailed and magically screwed up it was a few chapters in before I was on familiar ground and hooked again. Kresley Cole is a fabulous paranormal Author; her characters are amazing; the complete package of powerful, funny and sexy, both male and female alike. I still swear that Nix is my favourite though; she always has me in stitches and exasperated with her riddles and funny lines. Huge girl crush!

Dark Skye is about Thronos and Lanthe; secret childhood friends who end up playing a game of cat and mouse over centuries.

‘I broke a little boy’s body. And a young man’s heart.’

Thronos is obsessed with Lanthe knowing she’s the one. His soul mate and meant to be. Sadly, feisty Lanthe is not convinced for many reasons as a consequence of tragedy forcing them apart.

“Before you were my enemy, you were my best friend.”

She’ll be damned if she’s going to let him catch her. Bittersweet enemies. It’s really quite sad everything that happens and Thronos had me on side as I kind of hated on Lanthe a wee bit at times.

‘I’m yours. You’re mine. You confuse me. This confuses me.’

Thronos was one messed up dude who was just plain furious and hell bent on getting what he wanted and desired. He was like a mad man. Confused, disillusioned and quite frankly I worried for him at times. This despite his magnificence, his prowess and strength; his masculine sexuality. On that note the sexual tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Lanthe is a very sexual sassy sorceress who’s never gotten over the perceived betrayal which affected her childhood friendship with Thronos. Lanthe was savvy and the light to Thronos’ dark; the new to his old. But it worked and it was explosive!

“When we first met, I took your scent into me – sky and home….I feel like I’ve found the sky for the first time, or returned home after an eternal absence.”

On a more negative note the build-up for me was a tad too long and sadly repetitive, which hampered my enjoyment overall. I thought there was a lot of back and forth as Thronos made his case and just as it got interesting with the expected drama, passion and what makes this series great, their story was almost over. Saying that, when it’s good – it’s bloody fantastic paranormal! Obsession and passion in abundance but I wanted more of the latter part of the story and less of the build-up.

“Because our story is epic.”

About THE IMMORTALS AFTER DARK SERIES
Every creature or being that was thought to be mythical . . . isn’t.
They all secretly exist alongside humans and enjoy the gift of immortality. There are hundreds of different kinds: from Vampires to Lykae, from Furies to Shifters, from the Fey to Valkyries.
These immortals call their world The Lore.
You may have had a brush with one of Lorekind already. The eccentric billionaire with hypnotic charisma—and an aversion to sunlight. The ethereal waif of impossible beauty—whose fingernails look more like claws. The Highlander with a seventeenth-century Scottish accent and animal magnetism—who can never be penciled in on the night of the full moon.
They walk among us, but they war among themselves. Each faction has its strengths, weaknesses, and age old prejudices against the others. Every five hundred years, the Accession, a battle for supremacy, rages. That time is now. . .
