Seducing Destiny

SYNOPSIS

Less than six months ago my life was twisted and flipped on its side. Things have changed so much I barely recognize myself anymore.

I am no longer an Enforcer.

I am no longer a Witch.

I no longer hate the Fae. (For the most part)

And the sex-on-a-stick-gorgeous-Fae? He isn’t really the Dark Prince.

No, he is the father of my children and with the babies on the way, the land dying and the Mages closing in; alliances will have to be formed if we are all to make it through the war that is coming to our front door.

Between warring Gods and Goddesses, how are any of us supposed to win?

“I love you, I’ve loved you since the moment you walked into my world, and always will.”
This is your love it has to be. I can’t breathe. I can’t fucking breathe without you, Synthia Raine.”

Honestly, the Fae Chronicles series has become like book crack to us! We can’t stop at one and we’ve been desperately awaiting the release of Seducing Destiny to feed our fucking Fairy cravings! Although this wasn’t our favourite book of the series, it certainly fed our addiction and left us intrigued about what’s coming next.

Amelia Hutchins has such a talent for transporting us into her make believe world (or is it?) where she ensures we become part of her fantasy. She has created this world so vividly and so masterfully that we found ourselves beginning to question if this Fae World of hers really does exist because it certainly felt so in our imaginations.  Okay, really that’s just wishful thinking on our part as man we’d love to bump into that Filthy Faery, Ryder!

“If you run, I will find you. I’ll always find you, Synthia. That’s not a threat, it’s a promise.”

This author writes her stories and her characters with humour and excitement, bringing every ounce of her story to life, enveloping us in the enchantment of the Faery Realm, where dangerously beautiful manipulative Fae reign supreme.  For a world where lies can’t be told, these sneaky, twisted little buggers sure can spin the truth.

‘Some people cannot be reached, but I’d like to belie that people could be saved from the evil that festered in their souls.’

In Seducing Destiny Amelia Hutchins once again brought about a fantasy that had us gasping at the revelations, shaking our heads and wondering what would come next and following Ryder and Synthia as they adjust to life in a very different way than what they’re used to.

As we said, whilst this may not have been our favourite of the series, though we did enjoy it nonetheless. Come on… what’s not to love?  It’s all there. Raging heat, good guys, exhilarating plots, bad guys…though it’s sometimes hard to tell who’s who in this world of hidden-truths and treachery, searing passion, wit and some very, very hot Faeries!

“No, I loved it, but I love how you fuck me. Gentleness is nice, Fairy, but I like the leg shivering, hair pulling, sweaty bodied, earth shattering fucking that you always give me.”

We’re still on a quest to save Fairy and a few other plots that had our hearts racing – from suspense, excitement, thrills, danger and passion. Woahhhhh the passion. Amelia Hutchins sure can write one steamy bloody sex scene and we just want to know one thing…….where can we pick up one of those dream medallions….holy hotness!!!! WE WANT ONE!!!!

“Get over here and fuck me, Fairy.”

Although Ryder was still that dirty Faery we’ve come to know and love, in this installment, he was portrayed a little differently. Sure we see a change in him brought on by his responsibilities but he seemed to lack that fire of previous books, though certainly not the dirty mouth and bedroom prowess! He’s still as sexy, hot, insatiable and filthy as ever!

Fuck…I’m no good at this wooing shit.”

The story did hold us captive and spellbound there’s no doubt about that, though sadly, we didn’t feel the strength of the emotions as we had hoped considering the despair this couple were forced to endure in this story and what followed them through the four books. In other words we expected to cry or tear up but we didn’t quite get there.  We think our issue lay with the choppiness of the story at times. It did tend to jump a little too quickly, therefore not providing us an adequate build-up to unfolding events.

We would begin to hit a heart wrenching moment in the story, only to be whipped around in a different scenario where our emotions didn’t have time to catch up with the story and vice versa. There was one point where we were brought from a scorching hot scene to what should have been a really sad part of the story, but because of the sudden jump and no previous build up, we were only left bewildered and not feeling that emotional pull we should have experienced. The other issue we had was that at times it felt Seducing Destiny became more a building block for upcoming spin off books and that everything else was rushed to include these developing plot lines, leaving some of the story in its wake.

‘I knew I loved him, but love wasn’t strong enough to seduce destiny into giving us what we wanted.’

So yes we had a couple of issues, but despite those, we still enjoyed it and The Fae Chronicles remains one of our favourite paranormal series. We love  the  escapism these stories provide and we’ll keep coming back time and time again for more because our Fucking Faery Fix addiction sees no chance of halting just yet!
