Our Review

We seriously love this Author; her writing is brilliant and addictive.  Also, her characters are lovable and have a realness to them that makes us feel everything they do without unnecessary drama and angst. Some Authors just have this flawless and effortless style of writing and Elle Kennedy is one of them.

We absolutely love this series and whilst discussing it we think the main reason is the attention to the hockey aspect of the theme. This series doesn’t just claim to be about hockey. It is all about the hockey. The camaraderie and banter between the lads is infectious and had us in stitches. We came over all unnecessary whenever they were all together taking the piss out of each other or on the ice. Loved that – it felt authentic as did the whole college experience, the emotional obstacles and the issues that emerge in friendships and romance.

‘He’s John fucking Logan, one of the most popular guys at this college. And I’m Grace fucking Ivers, one of the thousands of girls who are crushing on him.’

Logan….what can we say; we fell in love with this confused and sexy young man who had heart-breaking family burdens and an uncertain future over which he has no control. His story really broke our hearts but the level of responsibility and maturity he showed was amazing and made us love him even more.

“I treat him the way I’d want to be treated if I was ever in his position. With patience and support, even when he doesn’t deserve it.”

Logan needs someone to show him his worth and grab him off that self-destructive path he’s hiding from everyone and himself even.

Enter Grace. Ahhh what a fabulous heroine. Sweet, innocent, fun and kind of geeky. We loved her and despite feeling tired of that same old same old naïve and inexperienced girl we fell in love. Grace had back bone.

‘I ache for this guy. All the fucking time.’

The mistake has everything; friendships, love, loyalty, humour and passion. Whilst we didn’t love it as much as The Deal it was close. We highly recommend this series, especially if you’re after a hockey book that has the spirit of the game.

“Go away, G. I’m wooing.”

Synopsis

He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.
