SYNOPSIS

Who doesn’t love a romance where our hero and heroine start off as friends?! Where they truly get to know one another – hopes, desires and dreams. Fears and hang-ups. All achieved through the banter and late night confession of a friendship. It’s without doubt swoon-worthy and addictive reading.

‘What I feel for Gray? It isn’t comfortable. It’s so intense and so enormous, sometimes I fear my soul can’t contain it.’

Kristen Callihan is a brilliant writer and she writes this type of story with honest emotion and lovable believable characters. The story was brilliantly paced as it evolved into so much more than the cover and synopsis gives it credit for. It had a beautiful human element which can’t be ignored.

The attention to details this Author incorporates and what makes us melt and laugh in equal measure was spot on and there in spades. What is it about text messaging that makes you read with a smile on your face and feeling like you’re snooping into someone else’s life? We loved that! Also; the fact that Ivy can’t dance, such a small part of the story but it was truly poignant because not only did it make Ivy real and had us thinking of Phoebe from friends doing her crazy run through Central Park. Yes, we laughed out loud! It also made Gray that much more lovable and showed the true beauty of his heart.

“The fact is, Ivy, for me, there is one absolute truth. The sum of my existence equals you.”

This slow build love affair was both intense, passionate and heart breaking at times yet it also had that easy laugh out loud humour that never felt cheesy or over the top. Love built on a foundation of friendship is a powerful thing. It’s a beautiful thing.

‘Make me stop, Ivy. Be the one who makes it all stop!’

Gray is without doubt one of the most all-encompassing men we’ve come across. No, we’re not talking looks or everything that comes with superficial beauty. We’re talking the size of his heart, his thought processes and his addictive sense of humour. Gray is multifaceted and that is what we fell for. We didn’t really need to hear how built he was as much as we did. We got it the first time. What we loved to hear was how he cared, how he felt and how truly geeky and vulnerable this powerful footballer is. No question; this boy had a protective and caring side that shone as well as an intense passionate side. Ivy was brilliant; intelligent, quirky and such a sweetheart. She gave as good as she got and her whole person was lovable and intelligent. Their chance friendship and romance was believable and a romantic meant to be. We loved them.

This series is a highly recommend from us; you’ll laugh, tear up and swoon. Your pulse will race and your heart will melt.
