Our Review

‘That was the thing about pain, it came with a universal understanding for those who survived it – don’t ask, don’t tell.’

Well, wow…..what can we say other than bloody hell what an intense, dark, violent, passionate ride Ricochet was! You’re going to want to pick this book up if you too enjoy reading on the edge of your seat with one hand on your kindle – the other covering your eyes a bit because you’re horrified yet riveted in the same breath. You do NOT want to miss a thing! If like us you enjoy originality in your fiction and getting exactly what is promised then look no further but be aware….

‘There was no room for morals between us. We’d breached the line of decency and fallen into dark depravity.’

This is not a unicorn and rainbow ride; nor is it beautifully fragranced with chirping birds in the midst. What it is though is captivating with well written passion, vengeance, humanity and redemption.

‘He’s become my rescuer, my savior. A dark angel, with blood on his hands and fire in his eyes.’

It’s ugly and dramatic – it’s fiercely controlling whilst the criminal underbelly bleeds into power through the disloyal and masked. Within the pages of Ricochet is a purity of heart that casts shadows of ferocity as the eye for an eye turns cunning and savage.

“You are the violence inside of me…My most exquisite destruction.”

The story of corruption, double crossings, murder and disloyalty has devastating effects as people succumb like dominoes. Nick Ryder is a man who’s experienced hell whilst living and breathing with no way out. He’s seen it with his very own eyes. Eyes that can never un-see the realities of what life has become and won’t rest until the last perpetrator is left standing. Eye for an eye.

‘..the man was like a finely crafted blade – lean, beautiful and dangerous enough to cut me to the bone…’

Nick’s story broke us…literally broke us. But that is all we will say because this story needs to be read unspoiled as the paths twists and turns and you are left gasping for breath feeling like you’ve just finished running a marathon of heart stopping emotions.

‘You punch a brick in the wall, your knuckles bleed. You shoot a gun, it recoils. You destroy a man’s life, he seeks revenge. An eye for an eye.’

As the words of Ricochet bleeds off the pages into your heart and mind – you too will fear. Fear the hate and love – cry the tears, embrace the passion and grab the sharpest object near to you seeking revenge and justice for those who tread the gripping and heart-breaking path in Ricochet by Keri Lake.

‘But that’s what happens when you shoot at something impenetrable. It ricochets.’

Synopsis

The only sure way to destroy a man is to take what he cannot live without.

Three years ago, I had everything.

A beautiful wife.
A son.
A reason for living.

Until a ruthless task force, assembled under Mayor Michael Culling, with a brutal strategy to make the streets of Detroit ‘safe’, ripped away everything I loved in a deadly hunt called The Culling.

They tried to kill me, too. I wish they had. Now I’m cursed by the memories of that night, and the words I whispered to my dying wife.

A promise—to avenge the wrong and set it right.

I’m no longer Nick Ryder. I’m a masked vigilante. Faceless. Loveless. Fearless. A man with nothing left to lose—one who’s seen the dark and violent truth behind the city’s flawless veneer.

Michael Culling doesn’t know who I am. Or what I want. All he knows is that I’ve kidnapped his beautiful wife.

An eye for an eye—isn’t that how the saying goes? And Aubree Culling is the perfect pawn to destroy him.

If she doesn’t destroy me first.
