Oliver King! We had a feeling his story was going to slay us and leave our hearts bleeding from the moment we met him in Hearts of Fire as the drunkard plagued by demons from his past whilst clutching a crumpled Polaroid of the woman he loves.

We were right. King of Hearts had our undivided and devoted attention from the moment we began reading till we’d turned that last page. LH Cosway went above and beyond and gave us a story that exceeded every bit of our excited anticipation. There’s book love and in this case there’s BOOK LOVE.

In our book hearts what we ultimately crave is a believable romance. A romance that is built up to a powerful crescendo through honest and heartfelt emotion where everything else almost becomes secondary; rather it’s a natural extension of our hero and heroine. Flawless writing that at times is humorous, devastating, fearful, tragic and passionate. Every moment interwoven bringing us to our knees, our hearts breaking, and our eyes tearing up – our pulses racing. Everything so beautifully written that hours felt like moments which in turn felt like years. Outstanding. Incredible. Epic. Overwhelmingly romantic and poignant.

L.H Cosway does not write with anything other than high emotion and purity of romance. No matter what setting the two main hearts are in that is ultimately what shines through. Nothing is left by the wayside neither. Her writing is incredible, flawless and evocative and embraces and enhances every element of emotion. The anticipation, the flirtation, the importance upon feelings and attraction. The ease at which we become immersed in her story is instantaneous and of such high intensity as once more her heroine felt like a friend, someone we knew, someone we would do anything for. A charismatic hero who’s got just the right amount of suave and arrogance with a sexual intensity that slowly builds and gathers momentum as two beautiful people become friends which in turn becomes a love so fierce and intense it spans adversity, tragedy and harrowing obstacles. However; a love that is so unconditional and pure is a bond which cannot break. Rather it shines like a beacon with a healing glow that shines bright in the devastating darkness.

‘I think that in the space between birth and death you can have one life, or you can have many. But in order to have many, you also need the strength to end the one that came before. And there lies the tricky part.’

We HIGHLY recommend reading Hearts of Fire before reading King of Hearts as you’ll truly understand and feel every moment. We read with trepidation learning of the journey that was to become what is and beyond. Our hearts started off broken, slowly mending only to melt and envelop Alexis and Oliver as they become one of our most favourite romances.
