crossroads

SYNOPSIS

After divorcing the woman he’d been with since he was seventeen, Nick Fuller is starting over. He owns the restaurant of his dreams and he’s determined to meet new people, find new passions, and experience life to its fullest. Easier said than done—that is until he meets his new neighbor, Bryce Tanner…

Bryce is all about a good time. He plans to show Nick how it’s done, help him meet a few women, and enjoy the gift of the single life he’s been given. But things don’t go as planned, and soon they realize they’d rather be together than with anyone else.

Neither man has ever wanted another guy, but there’s a connection between them from the start—a spark they can’t deny. They find themselves navigating an unfamiliar new world and dealing with unforeseen obstacles. Physical desire isn’t enough, and now Nick and Bryce are at a crossroads. They have to decide which way to go: the easy path they’ve always followed, or the one that’s determined to trip them up at every turn.

‘They were at a crossroads, not the first one they’d hit, and he sure as shit knew it wouldn’t be the last.’

We fell in love with Crossroads as we spent time alongside Nick and Bryce. What a beautiful and original story; it felt so incredibly real and believable – almost organic, which is completely down to this Author’s flawless writing. The struggles, the apprehensions; the obstacles and purity of emotions and honesty. It all felt real. Two men, two strangers who become friends then more….both finding they have feelings for a man for the first time. The GFY theme is one we’ve not come across often; the fact that this is the case for both men made it so incredibly special for us. It was such a beautiful, sweet, sexy and emotional ride and we can’t recommend it enough for readers of the m/m genre and friends to lovers theme.

“I’ve never known anyone like you – your honor and sense of right and wrong. Your kindness. You love so fucking big.”

Nick is quite a serious character, a workaholic and a man with a huge giving heart. Nick is caring and loyal. Left by his wife, now a divorcee – he’s thrown every minute of his day into his restaurant. He’s an old fashioned bloke in some respects which was so endearing and we fell for him completely. No wonder his new neighbour, the fun loving and outgoing Bryce falls for Nick’s quiet and selfless charm as they form a strong and equal friendship. A friendship that one day after a surprising kiss turns into a newly discovered love.

“I don’t know why this is happening. I know it’s kind of fucked, and that neither of us really knows what in the hell we’re doing here, or what it means for us. We’ll figure it out, though…okay?”

Bruce and Nick are two very different people yet they complement each other beautifully. Both struggled with their new found feelings warring with themselves and trying to overcome joint struggles as well. Struggles that were so real and a part of daily life which in no way were romanticised for fictional reasons.

“It’s like you filled this place in my world that I didn’t know needed to be filled. Hell, I didn’t even know it was there before you came and claimed it. Wanting you is the only thing I’m sure of. I don’t know how it happened or why, but I know it’s there.”

Love doesn’t come easy no matter who you are and their journey was not smooth in any aspect of their life apart and together. They almost have to learn – but guided by their innermost feelings these steps are taken with some incredibly emotional, sweet, angsty and funny consequences. We believed the physical and emotional struggles these men experienced and our hearts feel truly full after reading Crossroads.

“You’re the only risk I’ve ever taken, Nick. Nothing else could hurt me expect you.”
