SYNOPSIS

A beard-related dare and one hot-as-hell kiss changes everything.

NFL center Ethan Dexter’s focus has always been on playing football and little else. Except when it comes to one particular woman. The lovely Fiona Mackenzie might not care about his fame, but she’s also never looked at him as anything more than one of her brother-in-law’s best friend. That ends now.

Fi doesn’t know what to make of Dex. The bearded, tattooed, mountain of man-muscle looks more like a biker than a football player. Rumor has it he’s a virgin, but she finds that hard to believe. Because from the moment he decides to turn his quiet intensity on her she’s left weak at the knees and aching to see his famous control fully unleashed.

Dex is looking for a forever girl, but they live vastly different lives in separate cities. Fi ought to guard her heart and walk away. But Dex has upped his game and is using all his considerable charm to convince Fi he’s her forever man.

“I don’t know what to make of this, I didn’t expect you Ethan,” I whisper.

His eyes search my face. “I’ve been waiting two years for you to see me.”

We love this series and were hoping for Ethan and Fi to take us on a sweet, romantic and sexy journey. And that they did. The Game Plan is one of those easy to read romances that’s not overly angsty or drama filled, we really enjoyed that.

‘I see Ethan Dexter; he shines for me. And I burn hotter than the sun when I’m in his orbit.’

Whilst we had a few issues with the story-line we certainly did enjoy it and fell in utter love with the characters. One of our pet peeves is twenty something virgins, unless the reason is believable it just annoys us and we have to say that we didn’t find the reason nor the consequent drama story-line believable, it was completely unnecessary. Did it hamper our enjoyment – yes – in some respects it did, however because we fell in love the characters and believed in their romance we kept reading and ended up overall really enjoying this book.

“It doesn’t matter if we’re a thousand miles apart or right next to each other, I will always want you. Because that’s how it is when you find your forever.”

Ethan Dexter was one hot tattooed bearded giant NFL player who stole our hearts. This guy has a massive heart and errr other very very saucy exciting ‘traits’ that had our hearts beating and pulses racing! Yes please!!!!!

“It’s always the big, quiet ones, isn’t it?”

Ethan knew he’d found the one in Fiona and waited patiently for her whilst focusing on his football career. He’s the silent powerhouse that’s always there for his friends and lives an almost quiet life. He wants forever – not one night stands nor the trappings of the fame that comes with his sport’s stardom. He’s just got to convince his girl that she wants him too. And so it all begins with a beard….a beard attached to one sexy and gorgeous ‘Dex’.

“You have me,” he rasps as though I’m killing him now. “You fucking have all of me.”

Fiona is one sassy, sweet and exuberant girl. Being the sister of Ivy she’s met Dex a few times, as Ivy is with Grey; Dex’s best mate. Whilst she’s not sure of him nor his sexual status she can’t help but be overwhelmed by her attraction to this quiet sexy and enigmatic man. He’s nothing like what she’s used to but her eyes soon open to feelings past and present.

“Whatever you need, Fi, I’ll give it to you.” Even if it breaks my heart to do it.”

The intensity, passion and emotion was so beautiful at times – we felt every word. And despite the ‘iffy’ theme we found the heat factor quite irresistible. There’s nothing quite like seeing a man so restrained and gentle lose control…wink wink- nudge nudge! And when we say gentle – the scenes with Ethan and Fiona’s baby nephew are ADORABLE!!!!

Kristen Callihan sure knows how to write romance, heroes and heroines. Mixed in with humour – funny banter and just the right amount of angst, The Game plan made for a great read!
