Sawyer Bennett, you have been accused of delivering a sizzling, sexy and downright entertaining read that had our Kindles practically combusting! How do you plead? Hmmmm we’re thinking she’ll have to plead GUILTY because this was indeed one very steamy read and don’t even get us started on the sexual tension!

We do love a good romantic legal stoush and Friction delivered plenty of confrontation both in the courtroom and in the bedroom! Leary Michaels and Reeve Holloway certainly burnt up the pages.

“I think you might be all the woman I can handle right now…”

The start of the book threw us for a bit of a loop due to the huge time jump but we soon settled in and became swept up in one of our favourite themes, the Legal courtroom romance, that follows the physical and emotional connection between two brilliant legal minds on opposing sides of counsel.

Leary and Reeve are passionate about their work and VERY passionate about each other! They’re both competitive and love to win so when they meet as opposing sides in a Medical Negligence case you can bet sparks start to fly both through sexual chemistry and out of a passion for their work.

“When we get into that bedroom, there’s going to be very little rest. I’m a fast recharger, so there’s no telling how many times I’m going to fuck you tonight…Clear?”
“Clear.”

Leary has worked her arse off to become a Partner at prestigious Law Firm, Knight  & Payne. She’s come from humble and harsh beginnings and understands what it means to fight. Her law firm represents the downtrodden with meagre funds who do not have the means to fight the large corporations despite being on the right side of the law. Leary is confident, sexy and her cases verge more on the emotional than the monetary, Leary and her firm actually care about its clients.

On the other hand, sexy and demanding Reeve, a demon between the sheets but a romantic underneath, works for a Top Tier Law firm who represents the Medical Insurance Companies who have deep pockets and law firms only too willing to relieve them of some billable dollars. For them there is no right and wrong, just dollar signs.

We really enjoyed the story as a whole with Leary and Reeve providing a good balance of witty banter, passion, emotion, angst and lots of scorching sex! The build-up of their relationship moved along at a believable pace from the physical to the emotional. We loved the courtroom and legal scenes and its clear Sawyer Bennett has a lot of experience in this field as the Legal jargon was an interesting addition to the story, we found this aspect really interesting. We were desperate to know the background to Leary’s client and her personal feelings for her case. We anticipated the growth of feelings between Leary and Reeve and we wondered if their relationship could sustain the secrets and deals required to win at all costs. Oh and let’s not forget getting all gooey over Mr Chico Taco….what a sweetheart!

Whilst we may not have experienced the wow factor with Friction there was no doubting we thoroughly enjoyed this book.
