Our Review

@LondonCelebrity Hot new couple alert! West Enders Richard Troy and Elaine Graham cuddle up…

This is a new Author to us and wow we fell in love with her writing, story and characters so we will be on the lookout for more, no question. This book is the essence of a British feel good romance set in London’s West End. It just ticked all the right boxes for a swoony and hilarious ride with moments of high emotion and drama. It would make THE most romantic comedy on the big screen and we’d be first in line to watch it. Think Bridget Jones, but more importantly Mr. Darcy set in the world of theatre.

“So, is it solely my presence that offends, or do you just despise people in general?”

Richard Troy, the sexy and enigmatic thirty-five year old star of the West End – well what can we say- he was a typically arrogant and sarcastic upper class Englishman. We fell in love immediately and avidly read as he had our hearts passionately beating whilst laughing out loud at his dry sense of humour and no tact. Like we said, think Mark Darcy and you’re just about there. His reputation is taking a nosedive as the bad tempered heart breaker hence why the management hatch a plan….

“Are you seriously suggesting I conduct some sort of faux-mance with Richard Troy in the tabloids, for the sole purpose of getting a few more bums in seats?”

Enter Lainie Graham the accomplished darling of the theatre currently starring in a play with Richard. She was brilliant – so strong willed, funny and a no nonsense girl, she stole our hearts with her wit and sass.

“This is not me giving up on us. I won’t turn my back on you.”

We loved that we got to hear both voices which meant we felt their journey completely. We completely connected with both characters and loved their sparring!

“What’s the matter with you?” ~ Richard

“I’m recently recovered from the plague. Pardon me for not looking my best.” ~ Lainie

“You look fine. Shampooed and combed is a good look for you.” ~ Richard

We do love our frenemies to lovers’ romances and whilst the relationship all started out as a publicity stunt we were there every single step of the way falling in love and wishing their romantic story would go on and on. It was a sweet, sexy and funny slow burn of a story that was so engrossing and beautifully written that we just can’t recommend it highly enough to all you romantics out there! As far as romantic comedies go this was a clear winner for us.

“…my relationship with him? A pretty mediocre dress rehearsal before I fucking killed it on opening night.”
