After thoroughly enjoying Paper Hearts in this series, we were looking forward to Nicole and Victor’s book and after a run of very emotional reads, when informed that Elastic Hearts had a different feel to previous books that it was more a steamy read, light on drama and angst, we both said, perfect! This is our next read.

We loved the premise of this story with the attraction, sexual chemistry, banter and sheer physical force between Nicole and Victor teasing us throughout. Add in a cocky, seriously hot, dirty talking suited up divorce lawyer and yeah……we were hoping to be in book heaven!

I chuckled, biting down on the skin between her neck and shoulder. “There’s nothing holy about Victor.”

Nicole Alessi and Victor Reuben meet as a one night- steamy and very memorable- stand….so memorable, they go back for more again, and another time! Then the bombshell….Nicole is the daughter of Victor’s boss, Will who is the Partner in Charge at the Law Firm where Victor works.

Now our Victor has a one track mind (no, no, no…not that sort of one track!) and has his eye on becoming a name partner in the firm. He’s worked hard and as tempting as she may be, dallying with Nicole could derail that career path for Victor, so he decides to call it a day and Nicole disappears out of his life never to set foot in his bedroom, bathroom, hallway, desk…well, you get our drift…again.

Fast track a few years and Nicole is on the verge of divorce from Hollywood hot man Gabriel, but Gabe is a cheating dog whose drug habits and partying ways have led to some bad press. He wants Nicole to help him ‘keep up appearances’ she wants to move on with her life and be rid of the paparazzi that shadow her every move.

We did love the start of this book and as we said the sexual chemistry between Nicole and Victor was off the charts but it was the constant back and forth between Nicole and Gabe, even if it was merely for appearances which wore us down. The miscommunication and assumptions between Nicole and Victor also became tiresome and what we expected to be a bit of fun, which at times it certainly was, also became repetitive drama.

There were most definitely moments we loved throughout the book…..let’s face it, Victor Reuben was one very sexy man, the banter between Nicole and Victor was spot on and we did love how Nicole would tease him and give him a run for his money and yeah, their chemistry steamed up the pages that’s for sure!

The writing was beautiful and the friendship dynamic between Elle and Oliver, Mia and Jensen and Victor was a factor we particularly devoured in Elastic Hearts. As these friends grow and move on to the next phase of their life, it’s fun to watch their relationships change and develop as they did in Elastic Hearts.
