We’re packing our bags and moving to Green Valley! Right now! Those luscious Winston men are just so tempting! Each different in their own way but each so delectable, witty and attentive and we love them all, but ssshh Cletus may just be our favourite…just don’t tell the others!

Penny Reid once again delivers her own inimitable brand of swoon, sweetness, emotion and a dry humour we adore! She’s such a gifted, intelligent writer and her characters reflect that. They’re super witty and smart without being obnoxious. They’re so completely real and so completely lovable! We highlighted many giggle worthy sayings and many sweet and beautiful moments.

‘She was unhappy. I’d made her unhappy. Making Jennifer unhappy was officially the worst feeling in the world.’

We’ve been chomping at the bit for Cletus’ book. The man and his sausage have always been such an intriguing presence an oddity if you will. Just what was his story? We knew he had a few skeletons in his closet and we couldn’t wait to break them free and meet the girl who might just turn his orderly world into a chaotic storm. She’d have to be worthy of him though because Cletus had our hearts! And we’re happy to say Jennifer was all that and more! This woman was just divine!

There’s so much to love about this series! First off it always puts us in a happy place where we catch ourselves giggling like fools over the banter and camaraderie between the brothers. They may rib each other mercilessly but behind it all there is so much warmth and love. These stories are like a big warm blanket on cold wintry day we snuggle into, like a big comforting hug. Simply put, Penny Reid makes us happy!

Cletus’ mind always seems to be ticking over at a hundred miles per hour. He’s a plotter, a thinker, a silent assassin. He watches, taking in everything around him, never missing a beat. He’s calm and collected and now we know why he behaves the way he does. And we think we love him even more because of it! He really is such a sweet, sexy, pragmatic, intelligent and funny conundrum.

For all his watching, there’s one thing he’s been oblivious to and that’s Jennifer Sylvester. The woman known as The Banana Cake Queen, she of the big eyelashes, big hair, dire dress sense, a superficial caricature of the girl her parents want her to be. Jenn feels a constant pressure to please. She lacks confidence and has lost herself and lost her way. She’s her parent’s meal ticket and would do anything for their approval, much to her own detriment.

Lurking beneath all that is a smart, charming and beautiful butterfly just waiting to break free. Jennifer is 21 with very little life experience in all aspects of life. Living at home, no income despite working ridiculous hours at her parents business, Jenn needs to seize back her life and LIVE. And she knows just the person who can help her achieve her goal of finding a husband and having a family to love and adore. Cletus is that man. He can teach her all she needs to know! But will she end up schooling Cletus?

Experiencing the relationship develop between Cletus and Jennifer was a thing of beauty. There was a sweet innocence to them that warmed our hearts and had us swooning. Seeing Cletus completely at odds with his feelings was hilarious. Watching Jennifer grow was spectacular. This was everything you want a story to be, everything you want to experience in a romantic comedy with emotional bite! Another winner in one of our most favourite series. Now…Billy? Beau? Beau? Billy? Whose book do we want next? Oh we can’t choose….we want them all!

TRUTH OR BEARD BOOK ONE

SYNOPSIS

Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my!

Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why Jessica James, recent college graduate and perpetual level headed good girl, has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life.
