Our Review

‘What I do know, what I’m sure of, is that I would die for Ellie. Kill for her, live for her. The vow echoes through me with every beat of my heart.’

We absolutely love this series from Emma Chase. We’ve laughed and swooned in equal measure and gotten a bit hot and bothered too. Waiting for Logan and Ellie’s book was exciting as we had no idea where it was going to go or how it would play out. We had no real expectations and sometimes that is exactly when you end up the most pleasantly surprised, and didn’t we just! We loved this slow burn romance that burnt up the pages with sizzling attraction born out of what can really be described as a protective friendship spanning years, the emotional impact from how it played out won our book hearts, word by word.

‘- he makes me feel wanted. Valued and important, like I’m someone worth protecting. Knowing this man would give his life to shield me, guard me from pain or danger – it’s a heady thing. An arousing, stirring thing.’

We’ve loved Ellie since we first met her. She’s embraces life; she’s vivacious, honest, loyal and hard working. She’s the kind of heroine you root for the minute you meet her as she steals your heart. We kind of feel like we were there watching her as she grew up; and what a wonderful woman she grew up to be under the watchful eye of her gorgeous Royal bodyguard, Logan.

‘I’ve always wanted to be a part of something bigger -something noble and lasting- and now I am.’

Logan has been a bit of an enigma until now. Fierce, protective and loyal to the Royal Family, he’s the young man who grew up on the opposite side of prosperity yet fought create a better life for himself. We knew he had a mouth on him and a cheeky side that came out every so often, but we loved discovering that this man had an endearing vulnerability underneath his intimidating armour. Whilst we knew of his feelings, this man valued loyalty and friendship above any romantic notion. His values and boundaries were always at the forefront and as far as heroes goes, Logan is up there as one of our all-time favourites. He was just such a real man with such a real heart.

“You’re always doing this,” she whispers.
“Doing what?”
“Saving me.”
I smile, just a bit. “I don’t mind.”
“Hey Logan?”
“Yeah?”
“One of these days…I’m going to save you back.”

We loved the fact that Royally Endowed took place over several years running parallel with Royally Screwed, Royally Matched and beyond. It meant that we got to catch up with Nicholas and Olivia; Henry and Sarah as well as experience the sharp tongued yet amusing Queen Lenora once more. It was like being back with family. The laughs, the romance, the emotionally poignant moments, and the dramatic twists. We loved every minute of it and didn’t want it to end. Without question the centre of this story was the deliciously building and much anticipated romance between Logan and Ellie, added with just the right amount of emotional drama and funny family antics. The exact reason for why we love Emma Chase. Romantic, funny and so very passionate, we can’t end this review without saying that once again Emma Chase gave us an epic epilogue that left us in swoony puddles combined with tears from laughter. What a royally fantastic series this has been, one for all the hopeless romantics out there. One for the book loving heart.

‘So many memories and moments. We’d circle each other, watch one another, veer away or try to fight it…but we were always pulled back together. Colliding. Connecting.’

Synopsis

Hell. And Ellie’s perky enough for both of them. For years, she’s had a crush on the intense, gorgeous royal security guard—but she doesn’t think he ever saw her, not really. To Logan, Ellie was just part of the job—a relative of the royal family he’d sworn to protect. Now, at 22 years old and fresh out of college, she’s determined to put aside her X-rated dreams of pat-downs and pillow talk, and find a real life happily ever after. The Queen of Wessco encourages Ellie to follow in her sister’s footsteps and settle down with a prince of her own. Or a duke, a marquis…a viscount would also do nicely.

But in the pursuit of a fairy tale ending, Ellie learns that the sweetest crushes can be the hardest to let go.
***
Logan St. James grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, in a family on the wrong side of the law. But these days, he covers his tattoos and scars with a respectable suit. He’s handsome, loyal, brave, skilled with his hands and…other body parts.

Any woman would be proud to call him hers.

But there’s only one woman he wants.

For years he’s watched over her, protected her, held her hair back when she was sick, taught her how to throw a punch, and spot a liar.

He dreams of her. Would lay down his life for her.

But beautiful Ellie Hammond’s off-limits.

Everybody knows the bodyguard rules: Never lose focus, never let them out of your sight, and never, ever fall in love.
