‘Why are my dreams coming true when everything else is falling apart?’
Beautiful and heart-breaking. A true soul mate love story; one that dreams are made of despite the direction the characters’ journey takes. Such a truly emotional journey that’ll have your heart caught up in every word and your tears fall in both happiness and intense sadness too. The heart wants what it wants no matter the circumstances and the intense moment of passionate love and happiness -no matter how brief- vastly outweighs never to have met your true love at all.

Lauren Runow’s writing was flawless and vividly evocative. She wrote her characters with such heart, warmth and depth. We cared for every single one and their place in the story. Music plays a huge part of this story and serves such poignancy. Through diary entries we learn of a young girl’s dream of a boy who stole her heart never to let it go. As the years pass; her heart never forgets. Mackenzie wants the boy and finally, years later, she goes for what she wants.

Connor has no idea that his little sister’s best friend is in love with him and has been since childhood. Everything comes as a bit of a surprise to him and his life changes forever on a whirlwind. The speed and intensity felt a bit rushed however we couldn’t help but be swept away.

The message of hope, inspiration and love is wonderful in Last Chance. If you love -love with intensity- if you want something go for it, if you dream try your utmost to make that dream come true. Life is too short to second guess yourself, live each day to your full potential and never say never. You get one chance at life, make it count!
