Oh wow, we loved this book so much, Hunter and Maisy’s love story was so emotional yet so heart-warmingly beautiful too. There’s something about Devney Perry’s heroes that have our hearts melt into puddles on the floor and their passion sets our pulse on fire. They’re not bad guys or anti-heroes, rather they’re sexy commanding good men with huge hearts. They’re refreshing yet also reminiscent of the book heroes we fell in love with many years ago. We actually think this author’s heroes are some of our favourites.

Maisy tells herself that she’s content with making her Bitterroot Inn motel a success as well as with her sweetheart son, Coby who is the apple of her eye. The relationship between mother and son was wonderfully special despite her own unjustified doubts. She’s got a wonderful tightknit family that are there every step of the way and fabulous friends around her. Maisy still struggles though with flashbacks and the after effects from when the father of her son committed a horrific crime against her and her friend. Memories are suppressed,but every so often they resurface. As far as heroines go, Maisy is everything we love; she’s vulnerable yet strong and not afraid to stand up for herself and her much loved son. Her vulnerability stems from having to defend herself to a traumatic end. We loved Maisy and we found we connected completely with her and her struggles. She’s a brave and beautiful woman inside out, with a heart of absolute gold. She deserves a love of the soul mate variety and we willed her on when we met Hunter Faraday. What a man!

Hunter Faraday enters Maisy’s life when he books a room at The Bitterroot Inn. She immediately feels an intense connection and can’t ignore the strong flutter in her belly. Hunter is a strapping gorgeous man with a fierce protective streak yet a gentle disposition, oh and a filthy mouth when the occasion calls for it. Wow, the heat was palpable and the romance oh so lovely. However, Hunter has secrets; secrets that could sadly put a dampener on this beautiful forever romance that we were willing to happen.

“I need you, Maisy. Please believe that. I know I fucked this all up, but please know, I did it all for you. And I’d do it again.”

Both Maisy and Hunter had to go on their own individual journeys in this small town romance and we have to say theirs is our favourite book in this series. It made us smile, cry, swoon and feel that warm happy -book love- feeling we get when we are reading something very special. We loved catching up with everyone and we know this is a series we’ll come back to for a re-read. We have to mention the epilogue too, it was absolutely one of those that just completes a story perfectly, making it that much more, were upon finishing we just sat and stared into space for a while with a silly happy smile on our faces.
