CRUX UNTAMED (Hades Hangmen #6) by TILLIE COLE

We absolutely love the Hades Hangmen by Tillie Cole. It’s our favourite biker romance series and we love every single book we’ve read so far. This series is horrific at times, yet incredibly emotional with a heart pounding passion. Every character’s story so far has broken our hearts as tears have run down our faces. Crux Untamed was no different.

“Three sets of blue eyes, all different. All who have walked different paths…All who have seen the full spectrum of life – the good, the bad and the ugly.”

We have to admit that this was Hush’s story for us. His personal journey and the revelations that came with it broke us. Oh how we cried. Such a beautiful broken man who suffers in silence with only his best friend Cowboy at his side, who truly knows him. Crux Untamed felt incredibly different to all the books that have come before it, in this series. It felt more like an emotional memoir of a man whose childhood has left incredible scars on his body and soul. It felt somewhat removed from the rest of the series, however, we understood why that was.

“I don’t know how to be me. I have no idea who the fuck I even am.”

The relationship between Hush and Cowboy has always had a quiet intensity that’s had us so intrigued. Was it romantic or as brothers? We’re still kind of left wondering as we felt this ‘area’ wasn’t really explored. It was somewhat glossed over and we were left wondering why so? We never felt convinced on certain aspects of their bond and why their friendship extended into certain personal situations. In some respect this left us wanting more and we felt like something was missing. The strength of a real connection was never really there.

“She’s worth more,” Hush whispered. And there it was. What my best friend thought about himself. That he was nothing. A fucked up past had conditioned him to forever think that way. “She deserves more.” “She’s worth you…”

Sia is one of the strongest heroines in this series. Whilst she’s been broken and scarred by her past, she’s feisty, stubborn and shows incredible strength. She follows her heart and sees herself mirrored somehow in Hush’s heartbreak. Whilst she has a loneliness surrounding her we loved her relationship with her brother, Ky. There were moments in this book where we were crying our eyes out as they bared their souls to one another. It was truly beautiful and heart-breaking.

‘You’re both so fucking broken…From the minute we met you, I could see in you what I see in him every day…loneliness…Two people who are lost, two people who don’t know how the fuck to escape the darkness they’re living in.’

Cowboy is smooth, suave and quick with his sexual innuendos. He oozes hot biker charm and the attraction between him and Sia is palpable. He carries immense guilt and a personal responsibility which flows into his current relationship and living situation with Hush. There’s no doubt a real friendship of mutual affection and protective instinct.

“Way I see it, life is too fucking short. Live how you wanna live, have to live, and fuck everyone else.”

There’s no question that Tillie Cole has a unique and beautiful way of pulling at our heart strings. The way she writes is just truly stunning. Also, the way in which she can make every story feel so different and the continuing journey maintain its intensity is quite extraordinary. After all, we’re on book six now. We loved the beginning and the later part of Hush, Cowboy and Sia’s story. And as for the epilogue and what came after. Bloody brilliant! We are so very excited for what’s to come in this series!
