SIN WITH ME (Original Sin #1) by J A HUSS & JOHNATHAN McCLAIN – Review & Excerpt

TOTALLYBOOKED EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT – SIN WITH ME
I trace the edges of his scar, this time paying more attention to them. And when I look up at his face again, he’s frowning.
He says, “Seriously. You don’t wanna know,” like he’s reading my mind.
And he’s right. I don’t. But I picture it anyway, because I don’t really need the details in order to take a good guess.
“Stop,” he says, again with the mind-reading.
And then his hands remember what we started earlier. Fingertips slip between my legs and I realize I’ve been sitting in his lap for hours. The waitress has come and gone so many times, we’ve got dozens of drinks covering the table—most of which are even more watered down with the melting ice than they were when they arrived.
“Don’t try to figure me out. It’s bad in here.” He points at his head.
I place my palm on his face. Look at him. And feel so much sadness I get a lump in my throat.
He grabs my hand and pulls it down onto his cock. “But it’s excellent down here.”
My hand wraps around his shaft and begins to pump. He lets his head roll back into the couch as his fingers play with my clit.
I can’t stop. And I don’t want him to stop either. We can’t even think about stopping. So I grind on him, the wetness almost pouring out of me as he continues to stroke me.
And then… before I can get a hold of myself…
I come all over his fingers.
He grabs my hair and pulls me forward. His mouth on mine, his tongue inside me again. His hands are on my tits, pulling them out of my angel outfit. The wetness from my release smears across my nipple.
“You’re my angel,” he says, lowering his head so he can take my breast in his mouth.
“Yes,” I say, knowing everything about this night is wrong and I’m going to regret all these sweet, perfect moments the second I lead him out of this room…
But I don’t care.
“Yes,” I say again, his teeth nipping me until I throw my head back and wince. “I’m your angel.”

Our Review
‘I know that she’s not really my angel, and that we’re in the back of a filthy fucking strip club, and that everything in me right now that feels hopeful and warm is a fucking lie. I know that. But I don’t give a shit. Because there is something there.’
We devoured Sin With Me by JA Huss and Johnathan McClain in one sitting. It was fast paced, dark, hot and twisted with a stellar humorous sarcasm threaded through it. The writing was brilliant and this partnership was flawless and seemed effortless. The characters were screwed up emotionally just how we love them and the storyline packed quite the punch. Told in dual POV we absolutely fell in love with and connected to both characters; losing our hearts to Tyler immediately. We are dying to get our grabby hands on the next instalment in this four part series which are releasing in short succession.
‘We are two people filled with the same world of hurt and for some reason, it makes me feel better and worse all at once and I need to know more about him. Because…because I don’t want to see myself in this stranger. I don’t want to see the pain and sadness. Whatever’s bothering him…I want to fix it.’
Maddie and Tyler have copious secrets and tremendous emotional baggage, each carrying guilt, heartbreak and disillusionment. Tyler’s inner monologue floored us. It was funny, cocky, vulnerable, confused and so very despondent. He’s a hero who’s lost himself and is tempting the odds at life and living. Under a tough and scarred exterior lies a loving soul and a pure heart. Sometimes we find solace in sadness and question anything that isn’t what we know and recognise. When death doesn’t scare us we walk into peril willingly and confront it with resignation.
- He has scars all over his body that I don’t want to know about.
- He fights men with guns like he doesn’t care if he lives or dies
- He may think I’m REALLY an angel. Which may make him A CRAZY PERSON.
- He probably has an actual name but I have no idea what it is.
- He fucks better than anyone I’ve ever met.
- I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him.
Assessment: This guy is bad news.
A reluctant connection, a recognition of souls, broken hearts and shattered dreams. An avoidance of reality. A simple survival existence lost on a self-destructive path. Neither Maddie nor Tyler are necessarily looking to be saved until a surprising recognition of a part of themselves in each other.
‘We just stare at each other. Finding something in this moment. In each other. Something we recognise. Like…a dream you forgot and then remember. Or a stranger who feels like an old friend.’
Packed full of suspense, raw emotion, explosive passion and an endearing tenderness this series is without question one for readers like us who enjoy dark romance with tortured heroes and strong yet lost heroines. We can say without hesitation that this collaboration is one of our favourites out there right now. Bring on the next instalment because we cannot stop thinking about this story!
‘I’m sorry, angel. I’m sorry. I won’t blame you if you hate me. Fuck.’

Two broken people in a city fueled by sin.
Maddie isn’t looking to be saved. She knows the only person you can count on is yourself. Her moral compass might not point true North these days—but at least she’s still standing.
The Military taught Tyler about loyalty. Being there for your brothers is the only thing that matters—but when it mattered most, he wasn’t.
She’s got a ticket straight to Hell. He’s already been there and back.
She needs to win. He just needs to stop fighting.
Some sins scar your soul so deeply, you’ll never be the same.
But this Devil in disguise might just be the angel he needs to forgive himself.
