THE SEXPERT – A Tall Dark and Handsome Novel by J A HUSS & JOHNATHAN McCLAIN

We just enjoyed a funny, sweet, swoony and sexy visit to the TDH, the Tall, Dark and Handsome neighbourhood in Denver, where J A Huss and Johnathan McClain introduced us to a nerdy sweet hero and a sexy down to earth heroine and loads of chemistry! If you love a witty, giggle-worthy look into the inner musing of the male POV, Johnathan McClain will take you there! His male pov was fab and reminded us a little of Emma Chases’ heroes. A little clueless, a lot sexy, continually putting his foot in his mouth and wooing us at every turn!  Andrew’s thoughts had us in fits of laughter and Johnathan McClain delivered it perfectly!

Even in her dark suspenseful books, there is an element of wit in J A Huss’s writing, and in The Sexpert, Julie, was able to let her humour fly, with both authors showing us the lighter side of their writing with this wonderful rom-com and we loved it. ‘Cross our hearts’, we did! This dynamic duo is firmly becoming one of our favourite collaborations, and we’ll be 1clicking anything they write! We’ll especially be up for more of the TDH crew!

“Oh, my sweet, sweet Andrew…” She only ever calls me by my name when she’s upset or condescending.

Eden Presley is on her way to her new life, moving into the TDH neighbourhood, on the way, stuck in a traffic jam, she’s asked by a fellow motorist to borrow her phone charger. Eden obliges, there’s an instant attraction, but when the traffic moves, the guy takes off with her charger, never to be seen again….or so she thought. We loved Eden, she was quirky, adorable and so relatable. A wonderful heroine with a vixen hiding in plain clothes written with a great sense of humour and vulnerability.

“Will you eat me like dessert?” I say.
“Swirl your tongue around in my frosting and hit my cherry button?”
He laughs. “What?”
“Oh, my God! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to say that. I was working on an article for the magazine earlier and that just popped into my head. I’m so -”
‘But the rest of my words get cut off. Because his mouth covers mine in a kiss. ‘

Andrew Hawthorn is an artist, rock climber, and inventor of a vocal software that made him a billionaire, though you’d never know it because Andrew lives a very simple life. Andrew is also moving into the TDH and bumps into Eden at the office of Le Man Magazine. Le Man Magazine happens to be owned by Andrew’s best mate Pierce Chevalier, the quasi Frenchman who cracked us up with his French injected speech. Andrew is given a task; find out who the Sexpert is because Pierce has a bone to pick with her. But what happens when the identity is revealed? Well…all will be revealed!

We loved Andrew, he had us in fits of laughter and his banter with Eden was spot on, so too his interactions with the prickly Pierce which had us grinning like fools! Andrew was de-lush-ious!

“I think that was you, mon petit chou.”
“What’s that mean?”
“Term of affection. Means, literally, my little cabbage”

There’s a lot to love about this book. It’s the perfect fun loving and flirty escape. Not only will you be entertained but you’ll get some cheeky tips on sugaring and spicing up your love life courtesy of some naughty desserts. Chocolate and Eclairs will never look the same again! We have to say we want Pierce’s book! And Myrtle’s, now there was a lady who has a story to tell and we want to hear it! We thoroughly enjoyed this funny well written romantic comedy and can’t wait for more!
