Her stories feel believable, exhilarating and completely engrossing. In fact, Keri Lake writes about these surroundings so well, we’re starting to fear for her safety! Haha

Intrepid is a spinoff from the one of our favourite gritty series, The Vigilante’s series, and if you love a dark read and haven’t picked up Ricochet or Backfire as yet, stop what you’re doing and 1Click these now! Trust us, these books will make your head spin, and whilst it’s not necessary to have read either of these books to follow Ty and Sera’s story in Intrepid, we’d still recommend grabbing them, because we got a little taste of Ballistic (Vigilantes #3, yet to be released) and OMG! We need that book in our lives and can’t wait for Dax’s story in Ballistic, which is interwoven in Intrepid.

To the outside world Serafina (Sera) Kutscher appears to be the privileged daughter of ruthless criminal lawyer, Karl Kutscher, a man who represents the most loathed criminals in the city. However, as we scratch beneath the surface we find her life was anything but. In fact Sera is a mere pawn in his her father’s sadistic world.

Sera escapes her father’s clutches by attending college, giving her the freedom and breathing space she craves. On a night out with her roommate and friend, she meets Ty, a menacing, handsome guy who eventually gets under her skin. Ty is emotionally closed off and mysterious, keeping his life and feelings vaulted shut.

As Sera and Ty’s feelings develop, and guards are dropped, we learn the secrets each is hiding, and the way in which their worlds intertwine. Keri Lake torments us, enthrals us and taunts us with Ty and Sera’s past and present. She grips us with the searing aggressive and unrelenting passion between Ty and Sera, while at the same time, invading our hearts with the loneliness, wanting and longing between these two damaged and lost souls.

As Intrepid drew to its exhilarating conclusion, with hearts beating, we could only hold on for the ride!
