BULLDOZER (Hard To Love #3) by P DANGELICO

This was our second book by P Dangelico, and once again, we fell in love with her characters with this enemies to lovers having the hallmarks we love in a slow burn romance. This author delivers romance with passion, fun, swoon, and emotion and we just devour it!

Sadly, we hadn’t met Amanda Shaw and her sweet son Sam in Wrecking Ball (Her brother Cal’s book – Hard to Love #1), and although it didn’t impede on our enjoyment of Bulldozer, it did make us curious to know more about her and Cal relationship, plus a little more of Amanda’s past.

Thirty-three-year-old Amanda Shaw is a single Mum to the sweet 10-year-old Sam. Amanda is a reformed alcoholic, sober for three years, and there’s not a day she doesn’t berate herself for her past choices and actions, nor a moment she doesn’t feel guilt over her parenting. Amanda really should be a little more forgiving of herself because she’s a caring, nurturing and wonderful Mum.

Amanda is about to expand her successful Manhattan Yoga business, The Bend business by opening a branch in the Hamptons over summer. Unable to afford the rent for the duration, her brother and his wife offer their house to her, and it’s just what Amanda needs. A bit of an escape with Sam until he goes to spend time with his father who has been absent for most of Sam’s life. Amanda has a lot on her plate so she’s looking forward to the peace and quite the house in the Hamptons promises.

However, what Amanda didn’t count on her brother also offering up his house to his teammate Grant Hendricks. The grouchy cantankerous star of the Titans NFL team who is recovering from a back injury. Amanda’s first impression of Grant isn’t the best – especially when he fronts up wearing nothing but a pair of pink heart shaped sunglasses and nothing else…not a stitch!

And so, the story begins. Although Grant is grumpy towards Amanda, and they’re constantly at loggerheads, he’s as soft as a kitten to Sam and their dog Roxy. There’s a heart underneath all that brawn somewhere, and finding it beneath the snarky banter, and the arsy behaviour is a joy to see. He really is naughty boy innocence wrapped up in one tall, fit and sexy package!

Both Amanda and Grant come from broken homes, are products of their upbringings, and have demons from their past to work through, both carry a mountain of guilt on their shoulders. Can these two people, untrusting of themselves, open their hearts enough to trust one another?

A sweet, sexy and fun read with sexual tension aplenty! The moments between Sam and his ‘dude-bro’ – Grant MELTED us. The Mum and son situations were heart-warming and funny. OMG! What Sam put his Mum through had us in fits of giggles at times. There’s a scene in the supermarket that’s every parent’s most embarrassing nightmare – oh the humiliation. This story was pure enjoyment.
