MISADVENTURES OF A COLLEGE GIRL by LAUREN ROWE

We were in the mood for a quick hot read; so when we scrolled through our kindles and it landed on Misadventures of a College Girl by Lauren Rowe, which we’d picked up on release day, we decided this was the one. So, it turned out that whilst yes it was super-hot, it was also so much more with real depth and emotion. Sure, to begin with we were hesitant over the whole v-card drama but then it turned on its heels and became a story of dreams, inspiration, sacrifice and ultimately love. A brilliant mix of sexy fun with a real beating heart slap bang in the middle of it.

“Zooey, baby, I’ve already had enough heartbreak to last me a fucking lifetime. I can’t take any more.”

Zooey is a down to earth freshman at UCLA who dreams of being on the stage. She’s previously led a quiet student life and is now ready for the ‘big bang’ to be more than a theory…pardon the pun. A one night stand. Nothing more. Everyone begins with good intentions and all that and she’s not prepared for where a night on the prowl at a party will eventually lead her. Certainly not into the arms of the notorious ladies’ man, Tyler Caldwell. Whilst Zooey doesn’t get what she’s ultimately after that night she does end up with something quite unexpected….

 “To be honest, knowing our doomed fate has, at times made me want to pull away from you, just to save myself from the inevitable pain this is going to cause me. But I just can’t do it. For some reason, my heart doesn’t seem to care it’s going to get smashed at the end of this. It just wants you for as long as it can have you.”

Tyler is the cocky football hero, albeit a loveable one, with his very own ‘life plan’ and a head screwed on just right for his future. He’s on the path to the NFL and nothing will stand in his way, not even love. Or will it? When Tyler meets Zooey a reluctant connection is made and what begins as a bit of fun and frolics with an end game and expiry date becomes something intense and unexpected. We love Lauren Rowe’s writing style, it quirky, fun, sexy and emotional. We picked this book up and read it in one sitting. It was just what we needed and another highly recommended read for the romantics out there who love their funny sexy reads with heat and real emotion.
