The duo of Liberty Laine open their story with a note for readers: ‘For everyone out there who just needs a funny, smutty book with an over-the-top alpha and insta-love.” And yes, sometimes we do occasionally need an over the top smutilicous read. In this case, we read both Jailhouse Rock (Millie and Jake’s insta love story) and Wild Thing (Tillie and Nate’s childhood friends to lover’s story), and both books providing exactly what they said on the tin. They were over the top, smutty and fun.

Smouldering, good looking, Bounty Hunter, Jake Blackwood is hell bent on capturing the elusive petty crim, Tillie Coltrain, and in the process gets hit by the lightning bolt that is the irrepressible Millie Coletrain, Tillie’s twin sister. Millie’s passion is singing, and loves to entertain, (or is that torture?) the patrons at Bill’s Bar with her soulful (or is that screeching?) Karaoke Brittney Spiers renditions….ear plugs recommended, because whilst Millie may love to sing, she doesn’t exactly have the voice of an angel! But she’s Jakes angel that’s for sure!

“Everything about you calls to me, Millie.”

Jake is instantly smitten by Millie and wants her in his bed. Its instant lust and love between these two…and we mean insta! Now, if there was such a thing as a ‘cave man 101’ class, Jake Blackwood would pass with flying colours. Yes, he’s more caveman than alpha! You know….me man, you woman, bed, now, type of thing, but hey, it’s all in good fun and his antics and sheer exasperation with the Coletrain twins gave us a good giggle.

This is the perfect read to indulge in if you’re looking for something light and smutty… you know, when you want to decompress after a particularly taxing emotional read.  Every now and then it’s good to leave the emotion at the door and just partake in something easy and entertaining fun.
