Our Review

“I didn’t expect you in my life. I never expected…you.”

The Thief has been waiting for me on my kindle to be savoured when I could just sit and bask in JR Ward’s world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I’ve really been looking forward to Assail and Sola’s story and as always happens; I inhaled every word as the world was shut out. Whilst yes I loved it, I did feel Sola and Assail took a secondary seat to a new twist in the ongoing saga and the fight which my beloved vampires continue to face. And of course the marital drama between V and Jane, which by the by…how? My fellow BDB’s how is this disconnection even possible?

‘She missed the man she shouldn’t have ever had as if he were a piece of her soul, left behind. But that was the way of it. Destiny was such a thief.’

This is book sixteen, so I’m not going to go into story details in this review, you’re either on this journey or you’re not and the diehard’s like me will know what I am on about. We have an addiction and it’ll live in our hearts till the end. As always I laughed till my face hurt, my eyes leaked sad tears and my heart broke after which The Warden put it back together again. My intrigue surpassed any minor hiccups. Usual story, really!

“I love you, Assail. I love you with all that I am and all I will ever be, and if you die tonight or tomorrow or the night after, I just want you to know that you will always be with me. Right…here.”

Once again the new secondary characters had such an impact, and for me, the star was Sola’s Granny. I need and want someone like her in my life! I loved the whole family dynamics and how everyone was embraced by her bossy self. As for Lassiter, I am so intrigued what’s truly going on there as he’s one of my favourite characters. There simply wasn’t enough of him, but I get that this new twist needed developing for the books to come; new enemies, a new fight and more revelations.

“You are the most magnificent, powerful force I have ever seen. You can bring me to my knees as no one ever could or ever will again.”

So many twists and turns, suspense and angst via the numerous ongoing storylines that make up the whole epic-ness that is the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I can never get enough.  Murhder’s story is now next and I’m counting the days because…MURHDER!!!!!!

‘But no matter what happened, she had made sure her male was safe. Because that was what real women did. Real women didn’t wait for their dragon slayers to come save them.’

Synopsis
