More Than I Could by Adriana Locke is such a beautiful story with wonderful sentiments about life and love. We were swept up in the romance, the friendships, the family bonds, and the small-town setting. We fell in love with Chase and Megan as well as the sassy fourteen-year-old, Kennedy. We do have a soft spot for grumpy single-dad romances and this one was a winner for us!

“How people act comes from a place of fear, pain or worries you could never know because you haven’t lived their life.”

Chase is a thirty-something single dad who works hard and prioritises his fourteen-year-old daughter above everything else. Whilst they have a wonderful relationship the teenage snark and rebellion are weighing him down but his love for his daughter is inherently beautiful. With the help of his parents as well as his brothers, Chase manages to juggle both work and parenthood. On that note, we have to say that we absolutely LOVE his brother Gavin and we’re hoping he gets his own book.

Megan has been asked to ‘babysit’ Kennedy who is, unbeknownst to her, the daughter of the supremely gorgeous but grumpy man who helped her when she got lost on her way to a small town in the middle of a cornfield. The spark is instant and the attraction continues to build throughout their story.

‘It’s such a simple word – just four letters. Home. But there aren’t enough letters in the alphabet in the world to capture the meaning of it.’

We absolutely enjoyed this easy-to-read romance which had a little bit of everything. It had humour, love, heat, and great banter. Easy to read and easy to love, this is a swoony small-town romance!
